I had eaten here before but i wanted to try the soft serve. I got the coconut, the vegan chocolate one and the vanilla. My favorite flavor of the three I got was the vanilla one and I'm not a fan of vanilla like that but this one reminded me of the Haagen Daz vanilla which in my opinion has the best vanilla flavor. I love how this place prioritizes health. If you ordered a drink for dine in, they gave you metal straws. The outside dining area has a beautiful view of the beach. There are not that many animal protein options here though but if you're vegetarian, this would be a great place to try out! read more

Love active culture because there truly just isn't another place like it. I absolutely love their organic vanilla froyo and all their shakes. The food is delicious as well with the Wholesome bowl being my favorite. I recently got to try the hummus wrap and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Big Salad is so good! Southwestern Wrap is also tasty! I love how fresh everything tastes. I had the honey lavender bloom shake and the naked coconut shake with strawberry. These were probably 2 of the best smoothies I've had in a long, long time. They were creamy, smooth, flavorful, and thick. Even after I went home, I thought about when I would be able to visit next and grab a smoothie. The honey lavender was at a good level of sweetness for me and the lavender wasn't overpowering. The honey and lavender paired well together. The naked coconut with strawberry was recommended by the cashier and it was delicious. It was nutty and smooth while slightly tart from the strawberry. Huge fan of both of these drinks! One downside though is the steep price. It was $28 ($3 extra) total for 2 smoothies. I noticed there was a 10% surcharge on the smoothies and didn't know what this was for. It was halfway to erewhon smoothie prices - so keep that in mind. Overall, I'd still recommend trying out their smoothies. I was a huge fan. read more

All of the ingredients are so fresh, the most delicious feel-good food. highlight of the bowl is definitely the og sauce! it's so tasty and makes everything taste so flavorful. I ask for no rice yet the bowl is still so filling with the variety of legumes and veggies. the lentil goodness bowl has been my go to for the past two years, it's so satiating. it was my first time trying the kombucha mojito and im in love! Staff was super friendly and even let me sub out the agave, the kombucha itself is house made. Not artificially sweet at all, such a refreshing summer drink that pairs perfectly with the mint and lime. Frequently visit with great results, however this time was unpleasantly unexpected. $8 for a "kids" smoothie. To add insult to injury I watched them make it, fill the tiny cup, and then throw away an equal amount left over. Do better. Finished it off a ridiculously large straw. 6 oz. was not listed. My bowl was just okay - could have used a lot more of their sauce (which is delicious!). I will say it's a very healthy and wholesome spot, and usually when I go out to eat I want something more filling and hearty haha. So take my review with a grain of salt. But speaking of salt I think they also could have used more salt and overall flavor. I absolutely love the lentil goodness bowl. It's a huge bowl filled with fresh veggies that keeps me full for hours! This is my go-to when I'm feeling like my vegetable intake can increase. Their vegan chili is also a favorite as it's hearty, spicy, and also filling! The fro-yo is always delicious with many vegan and sugar free options. I like to come to Active Culture on the week-ends. Natalie, who helped me make a selection was amazingly patient with me even when I didn't quite have my order ready to go when it was my turn. The wholesome bowl was awesome and the manager brought me a smoothie sample for free which took the whole experience totally over the top. Active culture has been my favorite frozen yogurt joint since I was younger and used to come after a beach day with my friends. I love the fact that their frozen yogurt has prebiotics and probiotics in it as it appears to be healthier than most other fro yo joints. The only downside is how expensive it is now and this time around they were out of almost all of the toppings and it was only 3 PM that day. Luckily, I ended up walking in on a Friday during the happy hour which meant I got the frozen yogurt for 50% off, making it a killer deal rather than pretty expensive. It was definitely really busy, but I loved all the flavor options. My favorite flavors so far have been the chocolate, the cookies and cream, cake batter, and peppermint/mint. I highly recommend for any ice cream and frozen yogurt enthusiast as they make pretty incredible frozen yogurt. read more

I love coming here for lunch on a beach day! they have so many healthy food options such as acai bowls, salads, wraps, and more! my friend and I got our food to go and ate on the beach. even though my acai was slightly melted it was yummy LOL they use sambazon acai which is always reliable. they also do have a build your own froyo which I do like getting after going to the beach. all the girls who work there are super friendly and its a great beachy vibe because its super close to the street beaches. read more

My soul sister and I went for lunch yesterday. We both ordered the Hummus Bagel sandwich. She also had the lentil soup. I have to say that the sandwich was superb! The hummus was creamy goodness. Bagels are usually dense, but this one was fresh, light and a.mouthful of wholesome goodness. Gotta go again, on a warm day, for the yogurt ice cream. i used to visit this location often but my last one was so disappointing so most likely not returning. I ordered the quinoa with almond milk and the wholesome bowl. When i got the receipt i noticed there was a 10% surcharge on top of the tax. I asked why this was, and they informed me that it was to keep the prices down during inflation. But it really is no different than all the local businesses increasing their prices after you calculate 10% of each purchase. My $15 wholesome bowl is now $16.50 plus tax. Then when i opened my quinoa bowl i noticed that it was dry and they gave me a tiny sample cup of almond milk. i told them there's no way that this is enough milk for this quinoa cereal bowl and they told me I could purchase another cup ( a sample-sized cup that is) of almond milk for $2. Unbelievable! I left. I've included pics to show. Management, please fix this. I left a very unhappy customer. read more

Active Culture is literally one of my favorite places EVER! I go there every single day! They have the freshest, most delicious food--seriously, everything is amazing--but of course, my absolute favorite is their frozen yogurt! I just can't get enough of it! But what really sets Active Culture apart is the amazing staff. Every time I stop in, I'm greeted with the warmest smile and kindest energy from all the girls working there, and Spencer too! They make me feel like I'm part of the family, and it's that personal touch that keeps me coming back. Everyone is always so friendly and attentive, making every visit an absolute joy. Food was good too. I had the napoleon cake. It was not the best one I ever had, but still pretty tasty, and the slice was huge. I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend got the beef hash and liked it. I had a latte and he got a smoothie, both were pretty decent. Only a couple small negatives. The metal chairs were very uncomfortable, especially if you wear a dress, so I'd recommend wearing pants. Also, the beef hash portion could've been a little bigger, maybe with more fries or a small salad on the side.

Last request, the gentleman we asked twice already (who said he would put out the dispenser) sent a young lady to go get us a cup from behind the counter. That coffee cup was overfilled and tasted burnt. We didn't ever get the 2 cups we purchased. They had a lot of staff, just not taking care of people. A lot of customers walked in and back out, because tables weren't cleaned. Also I think they may have expected a place where you sit down & get waited on. We wish we had not stayed. Food came out fairly fast. The chicken & waffles were not good. Chicken fingers were dry, coated in unseasoned batter, and waffle was soft, no butter served. We asked & were given 2 little butter pats. Pancakes were very generous size, but gummy, not airy. Eggs were cooked over easy- those were fine. For $50 (2 of us) it was a very disappointing breakfast.

The smoothie itself was very icy. I got multiple chunks of ice as I was scooping through the bowl. I am not sure if that is a one off occurrence or because of the nature of the ingredients. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes but I would get one of the fruitier bowls rather than this one.
