Jan's was recommended by the front desk manager at Laguna Beach House and she nailed it. The food was wonderful. We ordered our sandwich with turkey and it was one of the best we've ever had. The turkey, sliced thin, was moist and flavorful and the vegetable contents were all fresh and delicious . The vegetarian bacon was crispy and added a nice crunch. The bread was soft and tasty. A side of fresh fruit was also delightful. We also ordered a fruit smoothie which was large, icy cold and filled with flavor. First time trying Jan's Health Bar. I had the Classic Sandwich with tuna salad and chose fruit as the side. The wait was short, and there are a few seats inside plus plenty of tables outside. The sandwich was exactly what the name promised: a classic sandwich. It was fresh and well made, but also very basic. My main issue is the price. I paid almost $18 including tax and tip for a classic tuna sandwich with a side of fruit. Add a drink and you're easily over $20. At that price, I feel I could get a more interesting meal read more

I was in the area with family walking along the beach trail and craved an acai bowl. One quick search on yelp and Jan's Health Bar was just a 5-minute walk from where we were. We got 3 Jan's Acai Bowls to share between the 6 of us and an avocado toast. At first I was a little shocked at the price for one bowl, but then when it came out I was like o i get it. It's quite a hefty bowl, so definitely perfect to share with another person! The avocado toast was small but so beautiful lol the way they lay out the little slices of avocado!!! Kind of funny and cute :) Overall good experience here. Food was very fresh and healthy. If you eat there, they give you a number and the staff will bring your order to your table. Bathroom is clean. I am only dinging them a star because of their 3 choices for acai bowls, 2 of them had protein powder, which I don't want to consume so I had no choice but to get the first choice (Jan's Acai Bowl) which is fine but like another choice or two would have been nice...without the protein powder anyway. Going to Jan's for lunch every time I'm at Laguna Beach/Heisler Park is an absolute must for me. I love Jan's so much!! The food is always fresh, healthy, and delicious. Today they started something called The Swell Deal for limited time you get an entree of your choice with two sides and a lemonade or iced tea for $14.95. I chose my favorite Crunchy Kale Wrap with quinoa salad and fruit as the sides plus a lemonade. Everything was so good!!! Run don't walk because this is a great deal. Went for shakes with my cousin, he ordered a date shake and expected it to taste of dates and banana but the mix was overly strawberry. I ordered a berry shake, it was decent. It's one of the few healthy shake places in the area and the price is reflective of location and inflation. They were also closing an hour before posted time. Nice little health bar in the same plaza at Pavilions. Plenty of outdoor space. Have large menu of sandwiches, salads, juices, and smoothies. I had the half sandwich half soup combo. You get a choice of different proteins. I had the tuna salad sandwich. Solid choice. Did definitely have a "healthier" feel to it. Broccoli and cheddar soup (not so healthy) was also solid.
