Shrimp burrito and Steak & Mushrooms Omelet

Good food! Got the steak and mushroom omelette and it was loaded. Restaurant wasn't clean and felt homey. Service was basically non existent

First time here and it was good: not outstanding, but good. Service was good, the ambience was good and the food was good. I wouldn't say my steak sandwich had a substantial amount of steak, but it was okay. The best of four dishes was the yogurt bowl (see picture below).

This is the quintessential Southern Californian brunch spot with fresh light delicious food and good coffee. Admittedly it's in Laguna Beach but not overlooking the water; however, it's right by the Sawdust Art Festival which also has its own SoCal beach vibes. I am addicted to their shrimp bowl, I don't know what it is about it but it's so satisfying and not too heavy but still filling and delicious. They have a splendid looking pastry case as well but I'm never here early enough because every time I've been here, it's been picked through, so they must be pretty popular. The cafeteria style situation makes for a quick speedy service which is perfect for lunch. Weekend brunches are always slammed.

I can't believe I just discovered this place today. Laguna is just a beautiful place with very down-to-earth people, and this restaurant represents that perfectly. It's a very casual setting -- order at the register and they bring everything out to you. The staff was so friendly and served us with a smile. Inside was cozy, clean, and well organized, and their outdoor tables are dog-friendly. Our lox Benedicts and brioche French toast were solid. My oat milk matcha latte was great too, and I liked how it came unsweetened so I could add sugar to my liking. Will definitely come back again.

Kitchen in the Canyon is a pretty cool spot located on Laguna Canyon Road. We decided to stop in here for breakfast on our way to Laguna Beach. Parking was easy, seating was abundant, the price point was reasonable, and service was quick. I thoroughly enjoyed my waffle. I would not be opposed to coming back next time I'm in the area. Go ahead and check this place out!

Absolutely loved this spot! The food is incredible and has that authentic, homemade taste you can't beat. The atmosphere is so cozy, making it the perfect place to settle in for a meal. I highly recommend trying the Eggs Benedict and their burger--both were outstanding! Definitely a must-visit. Service was very friendly and quick.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place, we've always driven past it without even knowing it was back here. Plenty of outdoor and indoor space. We got the fried chicken and waffles, breakfast burrito, and a couple of other things. The salsa for the breakfast burrito was weirdly sweet. The fried chicken seasoning was so so good, would get that again. Their fries are also seasoned so well.

What impressed me about the service today was the extra care shown by the kitchen staff. Even though the order taker forgot to ask how we wanted our eggs on the steak and waffles, someone from the kitchen personally came out to check instead of making an assumption. That attention to detail really stood out. By the way, he absolutely loved the steak and waffles, and the turkey Cobb salad was incredibly delicious. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything!

Amazing spot in Laguna beach! I was visiting a friend and we drove to Laguna for the day. We looked up some cute spots for breakfast and I'm so glad we decided to stop here. The staff were great and the food was even better. I LOVE Belgium waffles. If there's one on the menu, I'm getting it! This one was cooked to perfection and had the right amount of crisp to it. The fruit was fresh and the matcha latte was made perfectly. You know the food is good when it is aesthetically pleasing!!

Solid Breakfast. Really enjoyed the power plate. The potatoes on the eggs please werent our favorite but still great. 4.5 would be my raiting for this place, loved how much seating there was.

First time we came here the place was amazing but this last time it wasn't the same experience. The place has good vibes and close to the beach which makes the parking a little hard to find. But the food that we got this time was lacking flavor and seasoning and a little on the pricy side for breakfast/brunch. We got a BLTA, eggs Benedict, mint mojito, Spanish latte, and a cinnamon roll (which was probably the best thing). They do have lots of options on the menu which is a plus but the food is just "okay".

Wow! This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent, I've never tried anything I haven't liked, and the portions are great. The staff is kind and happy to help, and the setting is just beautiful. You can also take your food to go and eat at the beach which is super close. Don't forget to try their sweet potato fries!

Hi Vanessa! You can send an email to Shima@kitcheninthecanyon.com Thank you!

Will you offer more gluten free options soon ? Like waffles , pancakes and pastries ? Thank you ❤️

Will you guys be open on Christmas day?

Hi there, we will be closed on Sunday but open on Saturday.

Do they serve the whole menu all day?

That’s correct! We have the whole menu 8am to 3pm every day!

What's the wait like on weekend mornings?

Not more than 30 minutes, usually 20 minutes on weekends

How do I make Sunday Bruch reservations?

Hi Tamara, We’re not accepting reservation anymore. We operate it with first come first serve service only.

Does Kitchen in the Canyon still offer cooking classes? If so, I am interested in booking a work event for a cooking class.

No, they have unfortunately changed owners a couple of times in the last year! FYI: Patrick is no longer the owner, he sold about a year + ago and then it sold again a few months ago.

Service: This was the biggest disappointment. A younger waitress reached across my family to set my drink on the table. I reached to grab it to make it easier for her, but she refused to let me take it and continued reaching over everyone while saying in a rude tone, "I can put it on the table." Maybe she was trying to avoid spilling it, but it was a to-go cup with a lid. It wasn't what she said it was the way she said it. At first I wondered if I was the only one who noticed, but after she walked away, everyone at our table looked at each other like, "Yikes ." Food: The food was average. Nothing stood out as especially memorable. Environment: The restaurant was very crowded, and the back dining area mainly looks out toward the taco shop next door. This is our only family trip each year to attend the Pageant, so I was hoping for a better experience. I understand this is a long-established family business, but customer service matters. There are plenty of reasonably priced cafés to choose from, and unfortunately, I won't be returning.
