Whipped cream - had a really funky taste to it, which the server agreed with... Both of my kids asked me to remove it from theirs. $28 for two açai bowls that ended up getting thrown in the trash. The two stars is for the service as she replaced the toppings once I scraped off all of the whipped cream and chocolate syrup. I would have no reason to come here again and trust anything - plus, if that's how much just an açai bowl was then my money is better spent somewhere I know the product is going to be amazing. When we arrived, there was only one party ahead of us with 3 people in it who wanted 3 smoothies. Additionally, when we looked at the menu, we noticed that there was literally only one option that didn't have dairy in it. When we got to the counter, I asked the cashier if there were any non-dairy substitutes. She froze and said she didn't know, and then she recommended Chobani yogurt...which was still dairy...She said there weren't any smoothies with no dairy, although I had only found one on the menu. We ordered and then proceeded to wait around 20-25 minutes. There was only one cashier and what looked like the owner working. Since they were understaffed and realistically should have probably had at least one other person working, it was a huge turn-off in coming back again, especially since there wasn't a huge line to begin with. There ended up being people that came in after us and I know if I was on my lunch break from one of the next door stores in the shopping center, that I wouldn't be able to come here because of how long it takes alone. The smoothies themselves were good, but for someone who is dairy-free, I won't be coming back since the only real substantial smoothie that they can make is the one option. I don't want to have a watered down smoothie or one that has a weird consistency that's on their menu with dairy already. My mom and sister liked theirs, but regretted waiting as long as we did. I'd love to support them if they ever decide to expand their menu and have dairy alternatives, as I think the majority of LA and the surrounding areas would also appreciate it. I think hiring more than one person would help the speed of things and secure more of a loyal customer base that's possible in Westlake Village.
