Go for smoke turkey bacon and avocado sandwich and you won't go wrong. Don't forget the small pagode bowl. Happy eating!!!

My friends have been talking about this place all week and finally got to try it. Definitely worth the hype! My favorites are the chipotle chicken ciabatta (perfect taste and crunch) and classic pagode açaí bowl (fresh ingredients and perfect amount of agave). My friends got the MFD sandwich, mod tuna sandwich, and sao paulo açaí bowl and they all enjoyed it! Will be back to try different items on the menu when I'm back in Downey! It's a small shop so very limited seating. I've seen most people opt for taekout. Friendly staff and plenty of parking in the plaza.

Ugh I absolutely love this place! Their acai is made fresh daily, I typically get the Pagode bowl (as shown in the picture) with peanut butter and they have the best sandwhiches! ! 10/10 recommend!

Found this place on a whim, we tried the dragoon fruit smoothie, chipotle chicken ciabatta, and the coconut cream bowl. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, I loveed the coconut cream bowl. Staff were friendly and the place was clean and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back! :)

Absolute best açaí bowls I've ever had. The selection is none like I've seen before. We had the UBE, coconut cream, and Açaí based with a few toppings. Ingredients seems fresh and paired so well. It was like having a dessert but a healthy option.

First time trying this place and new to acai bowls. Love it!!! Filling and so yummy! Their acai base is thick. I don't think they added bunch of stuff on their acai like other places. The fruit toppings were fresh. Almost no wait time. It was convenient. Easy parking.

This was my favorite açaí place. I feel bad writing this review as the guy who attended me was really helpful in recommending smoothies. Unfortunately I didn't like that he did not use any gloves to make my smoothies I had to throw them away because he was coughing and appeared to be sick. These are basic safety food guidelines that should be followed.

Highly recommended Acai world for their quality acai bowls. The taste, freshness and texture of their acai is amazing! The pagode is my fave!

They say to call to order but let the phone ring for a long time. Then, when they do answer, they hang up. Not a good first impression.

I preach this place like i was on their payroll haha, but they sell themselves. I have put on so many people to this place. So many options, lots of bottle/cans and a rotating draft menu that carries more than IPAs, nothing wrong with IPAs, i drink them but other types exist. I can always find my funky Sours on tap, and did i mention delicious fresh samiches? Dayum son! Hope nothing but good luck for them, they are a staple in Downey's DNA.

My best friend of nearly 40yrs and I really enjoy a well made sandwich. In our pursuit of great…read moresandos, we've tried Katz Deli in NYC, Brent's in Northridge and even the sorely missed but never forgotten Miller's East Coast Deli in San Francisco. So when, tasked with finding a suitable place for our quarterly lunch meeting, I entered "Jewish deli" and "Downey" into Yelp, half expecting to find the lackluster lineup of national chains that PURPORT to make good sandwiches- Subway, Joysie Mike's, Jimmy John's and the usual suspects of sandwich sorriness! Imagine then, fellow Yelpers, when Uncle Henry's Deli appeared...as welcome a sight as my gorgeous bikini-clad wifey. Both Mick and I, who first bonded over our shared love of the national pastime, immediately likened Henry's with the MLB legend who shares my birthday- Henry Louis Aaron, aka Hamnerin' Hank and the REAL all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds and his oversized gourd, er, head be damned. In his 22yr career, Aaron belied his average size (5ft 11 tall, 185 lbs) and deployed his missile-fast wrists to smack 755 homers. All while playing in Jim Crow era Atlanta. Uncle Henry's Deli, similarly, defies expectations. Who would think of putting a Jewish-style delicatessen in Downey, famous for birthing the honey-voiced Carpenters and the self-styled "Mexican Beverly Hills?!" Mick ordered a super sized Original, which is turkey, roast beef + ham plus cheddar on white. He went with potato wedges which are sizable. Me? I chose one hot, one cold. A super sized Big B (Pastrami, Bacon + Swiss on toasted sourdough, hold the pickles) and an Egg Salad on enviably well made squaw bread, hold the tomatoes. Pro Tip- From a lifetime of ordering well made sandos in every major city in America, never put tomatoes on a cold sandwich unless you want the notoriously water-dense fruit to dampen your sandwich! The only mild drawback of my food order was the side of potato salad, which in my opinion would benefit from some black pepper and minced celery. The service at Henry's is expedient- You've barely helped yourself to one of their dark wood benches when they've called your order! The restroom was, yes, as cozy as the overall venue...but sufficiently clean + stocked. Watch out, tho- The hot water runs hotter than the devil's temperature! In closing, you can take Uncle Henry's to the bank. Yes, you'll part with upwards of a Jackson, mebbe even two. But you'll enjoy the treat, cuz the caliber of food is very bit as real as the hammer (aka Louisville Slugger) that Hamnering Hank used to bash all of his home runs with.

I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. But since I came here later in the day, they only had a couple stragglers left behind -they open at 7 am, for everyone needing their morning coffee -vegan options -free WiFi -woman owned -LGBTQ owned -they give back to the community

It was also my first time trying chilaquiles, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were flavorful and came in a very generous portion. I also enjoyed the steak and eggs--the steak was especially delicious. The Mediterranean salad was a fresh and healthy option with lots of different ingredients.
