The food was really good. Kind of surprised, but actually better than the resort we were staying at. It's also located in a perfect spot right next to the Ruins of Ixchel Temple on Isla Mujeres. Great views all around. The wait staff was attentive and courteous enough. There are iguanas everywhere. Hint: Save to tomato garnishes as a little snack for those big lizards. They LOVE them!

Great view with outside seating and good appetizers. Get the top shelf margarita. Totally worth it!

Incredible views! The atmosphere was so relaxed and the view was top notch. We had the fried fish quesadillas and the fish tacos and both were great. The service was fine, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. It's worth coming here just for the views and the nice breeze, and major plus that it's right on Punta Sur which is beautiful to walk around. And lots of iguanas!

Spent $10 on guac and chips to sit on the stone terrace with a view that just can't be matched. Great service and memorable snack!

She was walking us a little towards the back, but since it was my first time to Isla, I wanted to people-watch, so I asked about a table up front. As soon as we headed over, I saw why she passed it - it was right next to the saxophone player! Thank goodness his volume level was perfect! Just loud enough to be heard over the crowds walking down the 'lane' out front and the restaurant diners' chatting. But not so loud that we 3 couldn't chat. We loved it! Now these two can EAT - and love to try everything on the menu, whereas I tend to eat smaller portions. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic - huge pieces of shrimp, so good! The lobster mac n cheese is so good, I would have loved to bring a big container of it home with me! The restaurant is very busy but very clean and tables are well organized for maneuvering a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. Our server, Maylen was attentive and pleasant. The bar area, facing the street, looked like a lot of fun, I'll have to try it next time!

We drove our golf cart through the area where Maria's is, and because of the reviews we saw, my friends and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. Right off the bat, the best part of eating/coming here is the view. The area is secluded and you need to go down a small path to get to it. Once you make it down the little path, you'll see a beautiful little outdoor dining area that overlooks a pool and the beautiful ocean. The food was probably a 2/5 but the view was very nice and the service was good too, so that brought the score up to 3/5. My friends and I were looking for good, authentic Mexican food, which unfortunately Maria's is not. While we were sitting down, the waiter brought us free chips and salsa which were good. For my lunch, I ordered 3 shrimp tacos which were not cheap (at all) and came with like 3 TINY shrimps per taco. The photos they have in their menu are very deceiving and inaccurate. The flavor was ok but it was so plain and so stingy on the shrimp. I was really surprised (in a bad way) with this meal. My friend tried the chicken tacos which were better than the shrimp, but still nothing special at all. The shrimp ceviche was also extremely lacking shrimp. Unfortunately I feel like the food we ate at Maria's was the same as the Mexican food I would eat at an average Mexican restaurant in my hometown in the Midwest USA. All in all, since the best thing here is the view and the service, maybe it would be better to stop by for a drink rather than a meal.

My husband had the whole fried fish and it was delicious! I chose the shrimp fajitas which came with grilled onions & peppers. We both had rice and small salad.
