I stopped in on a whim for lunch. I ordered the #1 on the lunch menu which was a Chile Rellano and a taco with beans. It was all very good. Especially the beans. The establishment is divided into multiple small rooms for customer seating. The restroom is spacious enough and clean. Customer seating area, table tops and floor are clean and neat. Nice music on play. Was seated immediately and order was taken. Not unusual, a bit of language difficulty with chips lady. There is large menu along with lunch specials. My order of taquitos mexicanos with chicken was brought in ten minutes after chips basket and hot sauce. Food is OK. Price is $7.62 inc tax, which is right on the mark. Customer service is good. My wife and I decided to make a visit to AMG on a night where both of our teenagers were doing other things. We were a bit skeptical as the we had tried the previous Mexican restaurant in this location and we were not that impressed. We were quickly seated in the dining room in the back part of the restaurant. Our server took our drink order, draft Dos Equis for me, Oro Margarita for her and dropped off chips and salsa. I liked the salsa but my wife thought it was a bit warm. She ordered the Enchiladas Valiarta (seafood enchiladas) and I had the Fajitas Mexicanas. The meals both came out within 15m and were served hot. Mine was sizzling! She enjoyed the seafood meal and loved the cream sauce. This is my favorite Mexican in lawrence hands down! We are glad new owners bought this place and made it their own. We've had el sol and a bunch of other Mexican places here but this place is our favorite now. Service was great, the son was very friendly and offered us some of his fathers spicy sauce. It was great, spicy with a kick and goes so well with their white queso. I would definitely recommend the queso as an appetizer and pair it with the chips. I had the horchata which is like a sweet milk and cinnamon drink, this was the best horchata I've ever had in my 25 years. He told me his mom makes it, I need the recipe from her lol ! I had two tall glasses of it! I also got the fajitas quesadilla with steak, it was delicious. It came out piping hot filled with cheese, green bell pepper, onions, and steak. I am from Texas and know good mexican food. This is not very good food in the least. The sauce is actually sweet and tastes like ketchup. The queso is bland. The service was horrible. I would give this place no stars if I had that option. I ordered the lunch chimichanga from their online menu. It said it comes with rice and beans. I get home no rice only beans. I call to ask about the rice some lady rudely told me the lunch menu has only one side. I then asked why the online menu says rice and beans. She immediately went quiet and put me on hold. A guy comes to the phone and has no answer as to why online says different but it needs to be changed. Not once did anyone offer me my rice that clearly should have been with my meal based off the menu I saw. On top of this my beans were cold like they had barely been cooked. This is by far my family and I's favorite Mexican restaurant, if not restaurant alone. The service is amazing, the server staff is on point to each and every customer. They always get our order right and they will adjust things, seemingly, easily for our son's food. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and it's never too noisy, because of the way the restaurant layout is designed. If you ever get the chance to meet the owner, consider yourself blessed, because that man very much enjoys taking care of his customers and he is incredibly kind. Been here twice with my family of 5 food is way overpriced, each time we went it was over 100.00 not including tip. Rice is the best thing I tasted there. We all ordered different things both times and both times not impressed, carnitas very dry no sauce tasted like they were made the day before and nuked in microwave. The queso very bland. Fajitas were over salted. And if you have young kids that don't like spicy food I do not recommend. The kids meals all had a kick. I've never been here before and despite the low # of stars, I actually would give this restaurant another chance. I wasn't too hungry so just ordered 3 enchiladas ala carte. Don't be like me! Awful - they seemed to have just pulled a corn tortilla out of the package, put maybe a heaping tablespoon of beef/chicken in it and microwaved them. We were really reluctant to give this restaurant a try after the awful food we had at this location with all the previous restaurants. I'm pretty picky for fresh food and quality ingredients. I'd give the food here 4 stars but the service is so awesome I have to give 5 stars. Salsa is fresh and a tad warmer than mild which we like. Our waiter (owner's son Diego) brought us a sample of his dad's jalapeño sauce which was fantastic! A bit too hot for me to eat a lot of it but it was delicious. I ordered a margarita with silver tequila and Diego said he would make it with his favorite silver tequila. It was really really good- real flavors- didn't taste like chemicals like all the other Mexican places in town. Hubs had a Modelo on tap and commented on the correct temp of the beer and the glass. He ordered to Vallarta and said it was the best Vallarta he's had in town. Owner came out to greet patrons and gave away a few recipe secrets. :) Loved chatting with him! Local family-owned restaurant. Definitely reminiscent of Celito Lindo, so if you like that style of Mexican, you will like this little spot. We are really picky about our Mexican food which is why we gave this restaurant four stars instead of five, but again, the food was really good.....just not as spicy as we like it. We had a steak taco salad and the pollo special and both were really good. Service was quick and friendly and the food was out pretty fast. I had dinner the other night after working a 90 hour work week for pediatrics. Due to exhaustion, I made a mistake on my order. The waiter (name began with a C) was extremely rude! Let me start off by saying I am probably one of the easiest to please customers. I work retail, I understand when things go wrong, when a place is busy, and when a place is new things may take a bit longer. My fiancé and I just got done eating here tonight. We waited about 15 min to get our order (which again, I excused due to it being new). We ordered 2 margaritas and 2 waters, cheese dip, a v4 (according to their menu is a bean tostada, cheese quesadilla, and bean burrito) and Fajita Mexicanos (steak, chicken, chorizo, and shrimp fajitas). We got our margaritas and cheese dip shortly after ordering, but then proceeded to wait an hour for our food - still not even getting our waters - which we asked for again about 30 min prior to getting our food. Two other tables that sat after us (one being a party of 4, got their food before us). When we got our food, the v4 is not what I got. I instead got a tostada, cheese enchilada, and beans. My fiance's chorizo was also burnt (but said the rest was really good). After about 15 min. Into eating we finally got our waters we asked for. Needless to say, we are disappointed. read more
