Quesabirria tacos.
Karen F.

Hmm... about a 3.5. As many previous reviews noted, they used to be awesome, closed down to renovate, and are now freshly re-opened. Not knowing any of this, I walked inside expecting a restaurant and found just a takeout counter, about a third the size of what the establishment used to be. There were a couple of outside picnic tables you could sit at, but clearly this is now only a to-go experience. The menu was very small, but fortunately they did have my favorite tacos in the world (currently) the Quesabirria Tacos. For those who haven't had them yet, the tacos are shredded beef stew with melted white cheese and a side of birria broth to dunk your tacos in. I wanted to get a side order of chips and salsa and/or guacamole, but apparently they don't carry any of those, which honestly, is just weird. I got home and devoured my tacos. They were excellent, filled with meat that was not fatty, and full of flavor. The birria broth was one of the better ones I've had. While I thought $10 for just 2 tacos was expensive, they were delicious enough that I would get them again if I were in the area.

Lunch! 3 tacos (amazing) refried beans.

I found this little joint on yelp. Decided to trust it and give it a shot. It did not disappoint. Great food and friendly staff. I'll be coming back.

This is *thee spot for the best Mexican food in Tampa Bay. I love the guy that works there. He's always so helpful and friendly, and he always makes that food with love. The restaurant is so chill and welcoming. From the modern design of the place, to the painting on the wall, the ambient lighting. Even the drink coolers look rad; filled with drinks and my favorite Jarritos. The food here is incredible! I always get the Carnitas tacos, but today I also got the Birria tacos and Omg yummm!! I'll be dreaming about that Birria tonight, and every night from this day forward, until I get back to Acapulco Taqueria for some more of their amazing food

Delish!! Stopped in for a quick bite. The place was clean, people were friendly and food was fresh and tasty! Would absolutely go back

High top tables and seating bar.

I did not know why they closed and had given up on them, but I was craving tacos and imagine my surprise when they came up as open. I like their new look it is very clean. They are now a takeout place with a few high top tables. They are also only electronic payments -- NO CASH. I got a Cecina burrito , a fajita quesadilla and quesabirria tacos. The burrito was amazing and my wife truly enjoyed the quesadilla. Both were very large. The quesabirria tacos looked great, but these were my first and they didn't appeal to my taste. The food was delicious and well prepared.

Quesabirra tacos

Fantastic, super flavorful tacos' I got the Quesabirra and my partner Chicken, Carnitas and Fajita tacos. Everything tastes super fresh and the service was super quick but that didn't sacrifice the taste at all. The interior of the restaurant is set mostly for pick up service but there are 5 high tops and bar seating. A lot of people are saying they are disappointed by the new renovation and lack of seating, but I think it's perfect. Helps keep prices low and service quick without having a full on dining room. This place has definitely been added to our list of go-tos for great Mexican!

Mexicans love tacos as much as they love BEER As much as Shakespeare fans love KING LEAR As much as The Alley loves decor with DEER As much as my ex gf loved to CHEER As much as "As Folk" was preceded by QUEER As much as beachgoers love the PIER As much as Marky Mark starred in FEAR As much as NY Bagels come with a SMEAR As much as Titanic made me shed a TEAR As much as sheep don't love a good SHEAR As much as Los Angeles skies stay CLEAR As much as Barbie loves her new VENEER As much as Barbie loves her movie CAREER As much as the earth loves being a SPHERE As much as Britney loved my SPEAR As for best Tacos? ACAPULCO TAQUERIA! WHAT! This is my fave Mexican in the bay, offering amazing homemade tacos, including the sensational handmade (hipster word) corn shells, and the meats are delish, especially the cecina. Great horchata too - refreshing and the best in town, nay, the best in Florida, oh crap, I said nay, am I a horse? And wonderful service and actually fast. But not as fast as Barbie likes it. Everybody working here is cool and some of them are absolute angels and flirtatious as well. The sign is nice and the entire menu is excellent. But what really sets this place apart is the astronomical otherworldly taste of the food. Indeed. These are some of the best Mexican eats I've ever had. They're not the healthiest, but then what Mexican food is? They home make all their stuff and every single bite is perfection. All the meats are amazing each different dishes is great. It's not only the best Mexican food in Tampa - it's the best in Florida, and it's so good that it rivals some of the best ones in Georgia too. So I would say this is the joint best Mexican in the whole of the Southeast region, and you absolutely must head directly down here when in Tampa and try some of this out-of-this-world, off the charts, top notch Mexican heaven. You'll be crazy about it, like I am. You'll go Loco for Acapulco. So while Mexican might make you Bulk-o It tastes so good you'll never Sulk-o It's so greasy and yum And goes straight to your bum So come gorge yourself at Acapulco!

I'm from Arizona & out there we eat mostly pinto beans not black beans.... Can anyone tell me if indeed they do have pinto beans/refried pinto beans?

I personally have not ordered a plate, nor ally tacos and pozole. But I saw a picture of a chilaquiles plate and it looked like they did have refried pinto beans and not black beans. I know what you mean because i moved here from Texas and here in…

Do they serve Mexican beers here? I saw a picture of Bud Light but that's it

They do not serve beer/alchohol. You can purchase in the groceria to take home.

All was inviting, and a great way to remove yourself from the very busy atmosphere of the Marriott lobby which was crowded. We sat at the bar since we loved to be surrounded by the activity of the place. We started off with their special spicy margarita and ceviche. Loved that it was more Peruvian style, and not the tomato based one. More my preference of the lime taste. Then for dinner my husband had the strip steak, and I had the chicken fajitas. Both were flavorable, especially the sides, especially the corn cake type side, that were served with the strip steak. Both were seasoned well. My husband's flank steak, though delicious, was overcooked. The bar tender was attentive and answered all our questions about the menu, and provided some great suggestion including which entrees were most popular and also her favorites. Definitely will come back. Will also order the carne asada again but make sure to tell the server to cook the steak more medium rare than medium.

We started with chips and salsa which set a great tone, the tortilla chips were perfectly salty and the salsa was solid, no notes there. It was also Taco Tuesday which means one free drink with a taco order, so naturally I had a classic margarita (also solid!) and went with the al pastor tacos because the sweet plantains on top had my name written all over them. Full disclosure: our waitress actually recommended the chicken, carne asada, or birria... so I can't say I wasn't warned lol! The pork did run a little dry, but the flavors were genuinely enjoyable and the authentic corn tortillas were a highlight for me. The yucca fries were a touch dry as well but still decent with the accompanying sauce. My friend also let me try her octopus, not typically my thing, but the flavors were nicely done! Honestly this feels like one of those spots where I just ordered the wrong things for my first visit, which means I have to go back and do it right. The chicken, carne asada, or birria are calling my name next time. Would definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you can catch happy hour!
