Hidden JEWEL here!!! The YUMMY FLAVORS are definitely apparent in the food tho!!! Do not be fooled by the humble setting , if you want AUTHENTIC, JUICY, Mexican food--just come here!!! The cook and server were very sweet and came out to check on us often. They have tacos, tortas, chips, salsas, aqua fresca, they got it all in this cute lil place. Thank you, we will be back again!

Found Mangonadas Mexican Kitchen because we were thirsty for agua frescas. They had horchata and Agua de jamaica(hibiscus). We ended up with much more. We ordered a horchata and Mangonada. Since they are called Mangonada, I must order it. My hubby lately wants churros like crazy so churros with ice cream was also ordered and I took birria tacos to go. The girl working was sooo friendly and helpful. She offered us a good size sample of the Agua de Jamaica. She also let me know how the Mangonada was. We agreed on the tajin seasoning on the side just in case it was spicy for me. Which it is as not and was so good. I never had one before. She always had a smile on her face & made sure we didn't need anything. At the end, we both enjoyed our drinks and churros so much, I had to order birria tacos to go. I had the birria tacos the next day since I warmed them up in the air fryer and they were so good, crunchy, & flavorful. Everything was awesome from start to finish This location is in back of a gas station so it's a bit of a different find, but surely this place belongs on Diners, Drive In's, & Dives. Talk about cheaper great eats, & good drinks, & snacks with a smile.

I've been hell-bent on getting fresas con crema (strawberries with cream) ever since I tried it randomly at the Houston Rodeo, and I'm glad I was able to find it just 5 minutes from where I live! Obviously, I got the fresas con crema as depicted in my skillfully taken photo. The strawberries were perfectly ripe, and I loved how light and refreshing the cream was! The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was I saw pictures of this both on the menu and google reviews beforehand, hoping to see all the fun wafers and candies on top. Maybe it was because I got it to go, though I also wish they at least included a lid for the cup because fumbling with this thing to the car was a little too exciting for me. I definitely would like to try an actual meal here next time, as though this did finally put my cravings to an end I can only imagine their other foods must be amazing.

The best Mexican food! The owner is awesome too! Reminds me of back home which is a small Mexican town near Chicago. People might not think since it's next to a gas station but the inside is nice and clean!

I went here on a Sunday afternoon with my sister. The service was excellent (in spite of them not knowing English very well) and the food was flavourful! Chips & Salsa- the chips were freshly fried and came complimentary with dining inside! They were not as dense as they looked! It was light and tasty! The salsa tasted very fresh. My sister felt some heat from it but I couldn't say the same! 4.5/5 Esquite- absolutely delicious! It was sliced corn from the cob topped with mayo, lime juice, tajin and chili powder. I could eat multiple bowls of this. The tang from the lime juice and tajin mixed with the creaminess of the mayo is a nice balance on your palate. Not spicy! 5/5 Quesabirria and Consommé- these were nicely crisp and the cheese melty! My sister thought the beef was too chewy so this did not resonate with her well. I thought it was chewy, but not so chewy. Maybe it was the choice in meat cut. The consommé was delicious and not overly salty! They just have to get the beef texture more soft. 4/5 Chorizo California Burrito- the chorizo was delicious, a bit over cooked but still delicious! The burrito also could have been more crispy! They green chili sauce paired amazingly with this burrito because it added an acidity that was needed to cut the heaviness of the burrito. 4/5 Horchata- it was very refreshing, it could be just a little less sweet but I've had extremely sweet horchatas before so this one was a welcomed change! 4/5

Authentic Cuisine No 66. Mexican cuisine. It you don't mind hole in the wall setting, this can be your place. This restaurant is driven by good pricing and authentic Mexican food. If you want Street food, this may be your place. The restaurant is located at gas station plaza. It has limited seating. The food is delicious. We have the Birria Taco. It is overnight taco meat. Sound not attractive. But after the meat cook overnight, the marinated spice in it. Add the cheese, it is good to have. Very fulfilling. It come with a soup that I have never have before. I wonder what is that. Before the meal, they have the flautas chip with salsa. It is delicious. We also got the ceviche taco, buche and campacheno taco. The buche is pig stomach and the campacheno is the mixed of steak, chicken and pork taco. Very interesting. Service is ok. The Mangonadas is great. It is a interesting street food.

Birria tacos and mangonada to go

Yummy Mexican food served from a gas station restaurant. This review is for take out. I called and ordered 3 quesobirria tacos and a mangonada. I was told they would be ready in 20 minutes, and they were. The tacos were good. I liked that they were not soggy and held up despite a 25 minute drive home. They were a little bland on their own (lime, cilantro and onion are all on the side), but doctored up with the veggies and lime juice and dunked into the hot sauce and consomme, they were delicious. I'll bet they'd be even better hot and freshly served, but I'm not eating in restaurants yet. The mangonada was also excellent and absolutely worth the drive. It was only about half blended mango, the other half was mango chunks and a large tamarind lollypop. I liked their particular combination/ratio of sweet/salty/sour/spicy. There's limited seating in the restaurant (also limited parking outside). The place felt reasonably clean, and there was hand sanitizer readily available.

    Taco Tuesday Meal Deal

I've reviewed this place before and I have to again because it's still amazing food and service. Don't let the location deter you - next to a chevron station. It's clean. The service is great and the tacos can't be beat.

Hands down the best mangonada i've ever had. I have been obsessed with mangonadas since moving to Tampa and this has to be the best yet it has so much flavor overall so delicious!

I just got this and within 5 minutes I almost didn't get this shot. Sooooo good.
    Ron G.

They are really good and take pride in their business and food. Don't ever disrespect me and not come to Mangonadas when you hit up Tampa.

Arriving hungry, we stopped in here. The decor was well out together with a various arrangement of seating options. They were out of topo chico so opted for a seltzer water. I ordered tacos and elotes both of which came out fast and or so good! My dining companion ordered the Tijuana salad with steak which was massive and came out with a perfectly cooked medium rare flank steak on too. The salad was exactly the Caesar salad twist I expected with the hand prepped original dressing and addition of the elotes on top. Definitely worth a try if you're craving mexican in the area.

Luckily, there are quite a few solid dining options at this property including Lona. When I saw that they had a modern Mexican menu and delicious sounding cocktails, I decided to grab a seat at the bar. The service was quick and the bartender was very friendly, offering suggestions on the menu when I asked. I started with the passion picante cocktail which was like a spicy passionfruit margarita made with Teremana tequila. For my entree, I got the quesabirria with the consommé dipping sauce and it was spectacular. It's only of the most popular dishes on their menu and I can see why. I also tried the cucumber mezcalita which was a great nightcap if you enjoy Mezcal. I was so stuffed after that, but I got a slice of the tres leches cake to-go. It's a gorgeous dessert and I ate it for breakfast the next morning. It was amazing!

I made an OpenTable reservation for 7 pm thinking it would be busy on a Friday night, but the…read morerestaurant was basically empty. Despite the lack of a crowd the service was still slow! We were sat at a high top table and it took almost 20 minutes before our waiter came to the table. Another hostess actually came by with waters and apologized for the wait before our waiter came to take our order. My partner and I ordered the table side guac, 3 street tacos, and a steak enchilada. We also ordered a Pacifico beer and my partner got a passion fruit iced margarita (slushee). When the waiter brought the drinks it was a completely different margarita. My partner ordered the drink with tajin and the other margarita came out with salt. That was the first giveaway that this was about to be a bad experience. The table side guac was disappointing. I'd had it 4 years prior and was excited but it just didn't live up to how I remember it. He gave us the option for mild medium and spicy - we chose medium but it had no spice in it at all. We had to ask for more salt because it wasn't salty enough. The avocados were not ripe, and he didn't use any lime juice. And finally, towards the end of the meal I was chewing and part of the avocado peel was still in the guac. Quite an unpleasant surprise. The steak enchilada was okay. The steak was a little tough and I think the cheese on the enchilada was melted mozzarella - it was similar to pizza...as an enchilada... My partner thought the street tacos were okay but for the price point of $25, probably not worth the cost. All entrees come with beans and white rice - I needed to add salt to mine, but it was fine. The table seated behind us was very close to us and we could hear their entire conversation. The guy specifically said "I never eat the side of rice and beans here because it's not very good". The service was okay. Our waiter was very low energy and rather muted for an early Friday night. It's possible he had a long shift or a long day, so I'm willing to cut him some slack, but in the service industry, I think I'd appreciate a positive attitude. This dude clearly did not want to be on the clock. Finally, the restaurant didn't notify OpenTable that I arrived for my reservation so now I have to explain to OpenTable that I did actually attend and I wasn't a "no-show" for the reservation. Bit of a waste of my time. I came because I heard Westshore is closing and was hoping for a fun date night with my partner. I'm glad to know I'll never be going back and I probably shouldn't have tipped 20%.
