My first time here. Huge mexican grocery and place to eat and sit. I order 2 steak tacos, quesadillas, 2 pork tacos. The pork was dry the steak was good. Quesadilla was small overall it was good. Next time I will order something else. Lots of meat and seafood. All kind of Mexican ingredients you need is here. They have pots and pan too. They're a bakery side too.

Absolute best Mexican restaurant I've been to since moving here 5 years ago from Chicago. The food options are HUGE, the portions are HUGE and the prices were really reasonable!! If you want very good Mexican food, just jump on I-75 to exit 224 and go west for about 3 miles. This is both an incredible Mexican supermarket that has its own awesome bakery with TONS of Mexican pastries and baked goods but their restaurant IS worth the trip. Taco Tuesday is great time for delicious $1 tacos and they always have weekend specials. There are NOT a lot of tables, and it is cafeteria style so if you're lucky enough to get a table-Rock on!!! It's really a hidden gem! Seriously, I came home from lunch and absolutely needed a siesta! For lunch, I had #26-Bistec Encebollado ($13.99) deliciously seasoned thinly sliced steak (lil tough but HUGE portion) COVERED in fresh sautéed onions with Mexican rice and salad (see picture!). Had it with a glass bottle of Mexican Coca-Cola ($2.49 Cane Sugar NOT high fructose corn syrup like ALL American made Coke). My son had #24-Fiesta Mexicana ($14.99) which was identical to the Bistec Encebollado but the steak was covered in cheese. And he had a Jarrito Vidrio (($1.79) to drink. We also shared Chicharron Frito ($3.75-1/2 #) , which were fried pork ribs. Mmmmmmm! I want to try everything on the menu so I try a different menu item each time and one as an appetizer. There are VERY FEW restaurants I go to and can't get into the clean plate club (or the clean foam plate club here) but it's happened all 3 times that I've eaten here. It NOT fancy. It's not gourmet. It's simple DELICIOUS Mexican food served in foam containers with cheap ass plastic cutlery. You may have to wipe your own table down too, but still cheaper than going to Mexico for your meal!! This is definitely NOT "You get what you paid for" experience!

Frequented the one in Bradenton many times even though I live in Parrish. Had to coordinate visiting around being near the store. Was very happy when this store opened locally. The store is very meticulous and well organized . It's not only Hispanic food, they also sell jamaican and other ethnicities . My only concern as was with the other location, you really have to check your expiration dates on the food. Found alot of dairy items, with as much as 5 days past the sell by date. Yes, they have the best bakery goods, and cakes and pastries. But I'm not a fan of so many people being able to help themselves, youching the food especially kids. Haven't been in since Covid19 so I'm not sure if they discontinued that. They have a great hot food section. They have taco Tuesdays for $1 but be careful, we asked for extra queso which is usually on the steak tacos and they charged an extra $1. There was just a small dusting of cheese on top. There was no "extra". They are worth $2 dont get me wrong but they should tell you its extra money . They have great shopping hours and a friendly staff. It's a wonderful grocery store for our community.

Shame of them having orders like this and manager not even knowledge and capable to fix your issue

Good variety and selection of ethnic goods you may not find at more traditional big box groceries. Reasonable pricing. Nice bakery.

We've only been here twice - the first visit was more than good - it was a busy night but we got seated outside and our food came out quickly. We ordered all appetizers to test a variety of food, and none of them disappointed. The server guy was fast and friendly. The second visit we came on a not-so-busy night, I'd say the place was about half full on a rainy day. My husband couldn't decide what to order - the menu is large, so he asked the server what she recommended. Without missing a beat she said the skirt steak was her favorite. So he ordered that. I ordered the short ribs. Even though the place was not busy, it took forever to get our meals this time, and the server was nowhere to be found - she didn't stop to explain the wait. Finally our meal came. The skirt steak was served sliced, with a side container of brussels sprouts. Average-looking. And my husband thought it was average-tasting. The shock was when we got the bill. Apparently the skirt steak was a Wagyu steak and the most expensive item on the menu. When the server recommended it she did not say it was a Wagyu steak and she didn't give a heads-up on the price. When I mentioned our surprise the server just shrugged it off. As the days passed by I felt more and more burned by the experience. Before writing this I looked at their web site to find the item and it was listed at $60. We were charged over $100 for the Wagyu skirt steak - don't know what happened there. I'm an old lady and this kind of thing has never happened to me at any restaurant anywhere.

I found a booth and the waiter was there quickly with chips and salsa while he dropped a menu and took my drink order. The restaurant is colorful and decorated like many other similar restaurants, and the restaurant is clean and well lit. The food came out quickly, I ordered a chimichanga and quesadilla plate. The chimichanga had ground beef in it and was hot and good, the quesadilla was okay... not much flavor. I'd say the same for the rice and beans - good but no real flavors. All in all a good place to eat. Will try something new next time.

The food is not bad, not at all, it's just very, very bland. We're in Palmetto, where there is a lot of Mexican people, so I was hoping the food would be a little more authentic tasting to appeal to the locals, but it appears as if the demographic they are trying to appeal to are the older folks, because honestly, this is how I would expect Mexican Night at a nursing home food to taste. Absolutely no spice in any dishes, all of them taste the same. This is a nice restaurant and I really want to see them do well, because they are so close to my house and with all the traffic going to Bradenton, it would be nice to have a great restaurant that's only a 2 minute drive away, but we end up driving to other Mexican restaurants, passing right by this one. Like I said, the food isn't bad, it will do if you are in a hurry or if your elderly relatives are visiting, but a little spice would be nice! I'll keep trying them, but after 5 visits, nothing has changed.

I beg you: come hungry! You're going to want to try everything!…read more I was on my way back to Tampa from Sarasota and decided to stop in. This standalone restaurant is on a busy road, but has plenty of parking and a little lake next to the lot. It's big but cozy, with a fun decor-lots of booths and tables in two different rooms plus a bar to belly up to. My server was sweet and attentive-but didn't hover. She had perfect timing. The complimentary chips were warm and the salsa had just a little kick to it-good combo. I had to order the white queso dip... I mean, who am I if I don't try the queso? It was silky and comforting. I ate every drop. By this time I was full-but I wanted to try more things. I ended up going with the build your own: one taco (really tasty! Simple but oh so good!), one chile relleno (generous serving-lots of meat and cheese/less pepper) and one chicken enchilada Suiza (I think it was dark chicken-but check me on that). This is a lot of food-and you also get two sides! I chose rice and black beans-which were both excellent. The lunch menu has great choices/prices and there's a happy hour from 3-7 (not sure if it applies to the weekend-should have checked-sorry!). The booth was comfy and it wasn't loud in there (except for the folks next to me-who I now know wayyyyy too much about!) I think the ac was out when I was there-or on its last legs. But that's fixable. I'll definitely go back again. I had the house margaritas this time (good! Perfect sweetness levels-lightly strong, if that makes sense) and want to try others on the list. Clean-casual-good service-big menu. Thanks, Poblanos! See you soon!
