Living in this apartment complex has been a complete nightmare. Do NOT MOVE HERE under any circumstances. During the tour, they show you one apartment, but then move you into something completely different. We were given a unit with dark, old flooring covered in scratches and paint stains, damaged and scratched kitchen cabinet fronts, and a bathroom mirror that is worn and peeling around the entire perimeter. That was only the beginning. The garbage disposal is essentially decorative. It cannot be used, yet the sink constantly clogs even when nothing is put down the drain. For three months, we dealt with a serious insect problem throughout the apartment. It became so severe that we were forced to throw away food. During heavy rain, the parking area floods. Our car was nearly damaged by rising water, and if I had not randomly gone to check on it, it could have been seriously flooded. The final and most outrageous issue is the water overcharging. Over just three months, we were charged a total of $500 for water alone. In our previous apartment complex, our average water usage was 1,000-1,500 gallons per month, with a bill of approximately $30 per month. In this complex, we are being charged around $170 per month, allegedly for 7,000 gallons of water, which is completely unrealistic for our household and far beyond our historical usage. This clearly points to a systemic issue within the complex either there are ongoing water leaks, or incorrect meter readings are being submitted to the billing company. In either case, the leasing office has shown zero interest in investigating or resolving the issue and simply continues to pass these charges onto residents. I would not recommend Accent Apartments to anyone. I had countless issues while living there for a year. The office staff is absolutely terrible, with the manager Aryeh being the worst of them all. He constantly lied about everything (things being broken and timing for when they would be fixed) and then majority of the time he wouldn't respond to your emails or phone calls. It was impossible to get a hold of him and he was never in the office even though he lives in the building! The staff was so so bad as well. One of them even yelled at my friend and called him names while their boss didn't say anything - it was so unprofessional. While living here, there were multiple break-ins and theft in the parking garage and in the bike cage. My friends bike was stolen and countless others were too. I walked in and there were bike locks all over the ground. The office staff didn't send out an email or anything to alert people when there were break-ins. We asked if they were going to fix the lock on the bike cage and the office manager let us know that it was fixed. We tested the door and of course it just opened, didn't even need the fob. There was also a lot of car theft and again, no emails alerting us of this. There was a security officer but honestly they would patrol for like a day and then they just sat at the bottom of the garage in their car not doing much. Expect to pay a few hundred extra every month on top of your base rent. You have to pay $50 for trash removal (can't opt out even if you're next to the trash chute). Pest control, sewer, sewer base, trash (separate from removal fee), trash admin fee, water, water base, gas, electric. Gas was expensive too because you're paying to keep the water heater running since the pipe is shared amongst multiple apartments. When moving out, they consider normal wear and tear as basically not living in the apartment. This is such a scam so that they can take even more of your money. It's not in the lease but they charge you for re-painting the walls, even if there is no damage. They also charge for cleaning and additional for shampooing the carpets (based on life of the carpet but of course we got different answers on how old the carpet in our apt even was). The best part is they charge for all of that and then every vacant apartment we saw was getting renovated, so you basically pay for them to reno the place. So many of the amenities of the complex were broken the entire time we lived there. The manager said they were fixing the fire pit at the pool multiple times, it didn't get fixed until like the last month of me living there. They blocked off the grills "due to Covid" and when they finally allowed people to use them (which was well after restrictions were lifted) they barely even worked. There was this fire panel at the pool that was constantly beeping, and it would beep all night. This went on for about 6 months off and on. It was so irritating and my apartment faced the pool so closing the door and windows did not help. Then I just got the runaround with the office staff. They kept saying it was getting fixed, they'd shut off the panel and then by nighttime when the office staff went home it would be beeping again. I'll give them just a few positives. The cleaning staff that cleaned the common areas were really good. The repair techs were super timely in fixing issues inside the apartment. For the price you pay, it would be expected that things would work and the office staff would be honest and actually handle requests. That wasn't the case at all and just made for an incredibly disappointing experience living here. *Edited to respond to the below from business owner: None of the issues that I had were addressed and resolved when they occurred. If they had been, then I wouldn't have even mentioned them here. If the staff had just been responsive and honest that would have gone a long way and I would have appreciated that it actually seemed like someone cared. Stayed here for a year and was happy overall. Veronica, their leasing office manager, was super helpful in resolving issues. Maintenance teams were also very responsive. The main issues were just your stereotypical ones which management can't really fix, such as noisy neighbors above us. The only other issue was their trash service. The guy was extremely picky with picking up trash so many times it wasn't picked up due to ridiculous technicalities. But after a face to face conversation with him, it got better. -A Great Place To Live- I lived in the accent apartments from 9/16-8/17. I wish I could have stayed longer. The interior quality is way above anything else in the same price range for Playa. I would recommend living in a unit facing the pool or courtyard (My unit faced the courtyard). The residents vary from students to working professionals to retirees. It is not a party scene and is peaceful at night. Security patrols the premises each night. Parking is strictly enforced in the guest garage but the building sits on a street with no parking enforcement on one side (I've left my vehicle as long as 10 days). Easy access to highways; my commute to USC only took 25 minutes. The management changed in the spring which made for a great improvement in terms of how things were handled etc. Pro's: Great gym Great pool Beautiful interiors Multicultural Friendly management Quiet neighborhood Pet friendly Friendly neighbors Great surrounding restaurants and grocery options Cons: The parcel pending package service Sometimes noisy I have to admit that yes it can be noisy having someone living above you, but the overall experience was worth it. My problems began when I took over a sublet & one of the occupants in my apartment decided to break their lease terms & were squatting. Less than ideal. The pivotal point that I am expressing & stressing to any potential renters is that Accent moved my belongings out of MY storage unit I was paying for still without my consent. My lease was up on September 14th at midnight 2016. My boyfriend & I moved majority of my belongings out on Sunday 9/11/16; we CHECKED my storage unit that I was paying monthly dues for & decided to pack up the locker on Tuesday 9/13/16 because it was filled to the brim. On Tuesday 9/13/16 I went back to grab the last of my belongings from the locker. My storage key did not work. The lock had been changed. After calling management THREE times (*see picture) I waited approximately 20 minutes before management sent a maintenance worker to resolve the issue only to find that my locker unit was already rented out to someone else and ALL my belongings were moved without my knowledge or consent into a utility closet. Accent also continually charged me late rent fees (and often issued me Three Day Notice to Pay Rent or Quit) for the months of April, May, June, July and August despite always paying my rent on time. All of the incorrect late fees were "waived" but despite my numerous attempts in writing and telephonically to force Accent to please stop improperly sending me Three Day Notice(s) to Pay Rent or Quit, Accent did not remedy the situation, nor did they stop. I left numerous voicemails for Accent Management higher-ups and never received a return phone call. Accent in-house management is extremely poorly run and seem to have a very young staff as opposed to other management offices where the staff seems to be more seasoned in case problems arise, let alone having a "problem" even escalate to the point where I am emotionally distraught from having lived there and only for 6 months! Recommendation - DO NOT MOVE HERE. My lease is finally over and I can move out of this place. I will start with the PROS: Location to the 405, MDR, Venice, Culver are great The apartments/appliances look pretty and modern CONS: Management - "led" by passive-aggressive and unresponsive Rachel, this team does not answer emails or respond to telephone calls even when urgent. They do not address actual issues, rather just blow you off until you stop asking. Their only method of communication/action is mass threatening emails saying that random cars are going to be towed. When I moved in they sold this place as a community where they do frequent events. It is February now, the last event that I can remember was Cinqo de Mayo. Parking - there is simply not enough parking for the tenants. I had a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 spots when I first moved in and when they tried to renew my lease they wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for the second spot. They initially agreed to waive the cost of the 2nd spot but later on backed out. The street parking out front has a 2 hour limit and the guest parking in the building is so limited in the number of spots. They also require a guest permit to park there but the staff is rarely available even during the leasing office hours to give a permit. The next thing that happens is threatening mass emails and then your guest's car gets towed because the staff was not available to provide a parking pass. Construction - very poor construction. If you live above, below or next to someone (every apartment), expect to hear everything that goes on in your neighbor's apartment. Footsteps, toilet flushing, TV, telephone calls..... Cleanliness - the common grills and pool area are relatively clean however the hallways are filthy and smell. They have a mandatory "valet" trash service where you are forced to pay to have someone pick up your trash. Many people don't use a can so the bags often leak and leave stains and discolorations on the carpet. The carpets are never vacuumed and the smell is just repulsive. As they do not pick up valet trash on Fridays and Saturdays, the parking lot trashcans look like local dumps by Sunday. It would make sense to have the trash picked up on weekends when people generate more trash and perhaps skip 2 days during the week. Fees - Aside from your basic rental fee they have a trash fee $25/month whether or not you use the service as well as water and sewer fees that they charge you. In addition, you pay $3.00 for them to prepare this bill for you every month. I had asked specifically about fees when touring the units and was not told about any of this. Once your lease is close to over they offer you a new lease with a rate substantially above market value in hopes that you are too lazy to move. Most people move anyway and many units are sitting empty now. All of the residents have the same complaints and inevitably, each new tenant regrets signing the lease within the first few weeks. read more

We moved here November 2015. The apartment is nice and clean and modern. The office and staff is very nice and we are happy to stay so far. But....one thing about the management of the parking lot is horrible. Me and my nephew have had bad experiences with other cars parking in our parking spaces and leaving us no place to park. The option are do nothing and let people get by parking where they want or tow the cars but then risk damage to our vehicles because those parked incorrectly will know our cars and spaces. There should be a car list on the spot to make sure you park in the right spot. Or security should have a list of license plates and apartments so they can hunt them down to move their cars if parked wrong. Thats the one of the 1000 things that i think about the apartment complex. Please do something to help improve this situation. Accent is a great place to rent. Neighbors are quiet and do tend to keep to themselves, but I also found them very friendly and polite when in common areas such as the gym or pool. Rae and Barry made my experience so great and were extremely helpful with packages and questions. The greatest part of this complex is their flexible leasing options. I was able to choose how many months I wanted to rent for ,and when I had to move for work, I was able to end my lease without any penalty. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more

One of the worst apartments. SUPER BAD attitude. They won't help you to find your packages which was signed by the office . If you ask, they will say " sorry to hear this but I can't do anything to you". The weird part is, they are not doing anything for you but trying to charge you everything. Give you fine without any warning . I didn't even know that would cost fine because every resident were doing the same thing. But suddenly, we got fines without warning. One more thing. Last year, after the management company changed, the office told me every units only come with one parking. Even you're renting 2b2b. If you want one more parking space, please pay for it. LOL Anyway, I'm so glad I have moved out. But...... I got friends at this apartment. When I go to meet with my friend, they told me I cannot park at the guest parking because I just moved out. When choosing an apartment it's all in the details and I could tell this place was on the verge of just collapsing. Stains on all of the carpets. Broken glass. Water damage on the ceiling. Packages piled up on the management desk. Only one person working so there was a ton of people waiting for help when we got back from our tour. A car was broken into while we were on tour. Broken appliances/fixtures in the apartments. TONS of dog poop left out in the dog park. Beautiful apartments with grand doors, but don't let that fool you. It's very obvious that this is a community where the management doesn't care about the upkeep or the satisfaction of their residents, and therefore I don't believe the residents care to keep it clean either. The gentleman who toured us was very nice and very helpful, but I could tell that this was not a place we wanted to live. Also, the yelp & google reviews are absolutely horrendous. I've lived in accent for almost 4 years, overall pretty happy with my apartment, however the management has changed numerous times and as a result they no longer support certain features that were initially offered and big reason why I moved to this unit originally, for example it was positioned as a smart home with integrated speakers etc. and a phone app to control the lights and in-homr electronics. Since the speakers stopped working the management now refuses to support this feature which I honestly find annoying. Also the ever increasing rent is quite annoying. My rent has increased about $700 in a 3 year period and that is with constance negotiation with management I don't understand why there's an increase every year but you are no longer supporting specific amenities that were originally used to sell tenants on the property! read more

I HATE Living here since they changed management companies a little over a month ago. It's everything I have ever hated about large complexes. There have only been problems after problems since this new management company took over. I truly abhor living here and I'm pissed that my lease is not up till October. The office never gets back to you. There is always some issue whether it be with them being available at listed times, issues with online portal to pay rent, issues wit their attitude. I'm a business woman. I own my own company so I understand true customer service. They lack customer service and I seriously hate living here! Here we are months later and I still feel exactly the same. I wish I could give no stars. Patrick is the only person I like here. He goes out of his way to help me and deals with me in a way that calms me. I seriously can't wait to move out of here. Don't waste your time. If you want to pay the ridiculous prices they have here you are better off moving across the street to a way nice community. I like the community for its location and for its residents, all who have been kind and pet-friendly. The building itself however, and the way it is run, is far from what you would expect from what is touted as a luxury establishment. Fixtures look good from the outside, but then don't really work or are cheaply put together. The contractors chosen to construct the building were terrible; many of the indoor fixtures and machines have only been half-completed or poorly hooked up. The staff look professional, are immaculately dressed, energetic and model-beautiful but then won't get around to helping you and are unprepared for the daily running of this establishment. I think that they are probably understaffed as well, and have too much on their plate. Some of the apartments have trash chutes and some have a "concierge trash service" which means that residents are expected to leave their trash outside their doors in the apartment hallways nearly every day. The Millennium del Rey offers a plastic bin per apartment that fits one full bag of trash. And what do you think happens if a family accrues more than one bag's worth of trash? Yep, trash bags directly on the carpet. There are stains on the carpet from leaking trash bags and the hallways are not steam cleaned or even vacuumed weekly. They do not offer recycle bins for this concierge trash service. It is a poorly thought-out system and ends up being unhygienic. Why everyone does not have access to trash chutes on each floor is beyond me. This is one example of the shoddy and haphazard planning in the building design. Resident parking allotments are extremely limited, only one space per apartment, fire alarms go off frequently, there have been problems with the elevators trapping residents, there are not enough staff employed for the maintenance and upkeep of the building and the staff make promises they are not able to keep. There are good things about the establishment; it looks beautiful, has a lovely pool area and community office for those working from home. It is pet-friendly, a nice community of people in an upcoming area and the structure is relatively new, which will not affect me since I plan to move out at the end of my lease. I would warn anyone moving into the Millennium del Rey in the next few years though. Things will only get more problematic as the building ages. read more

I've been a resident at Millennium since late September. I can confirm many of the issues the past few reviews touched on are pretty accurate. 1. Parking - Yes its an issue. I hear it's being worked on. I'm sure whatever solution they come up with there will be an uproar of complaints. There is a lot of parking available however, but the way it was managed from the beginning is why it's such a mess now. When I drive through the parking structure, I can't help but feel there is plenty of parking for every unit to have 2 spaces at least. It would also make sense to organize parking based on level. If you live on the 1st floor, it doesn't make sense to be placed on the top level of the parking garage and vise versa. There is also the issue of residents using up guest parking spots or even cars just parking that is obviously not a parking spot at all. I often see the same cars sitting in guest weeks at a time. If you have more than 3 cars - you should probably rethink living here. It does get frustrating seeing cars parked outside the guest parking area by the gate. Or when you see that same yellow audi parking in 8 different spots through out the day. 2. Resident themselves - I can't help but feel that some of the residents are just as much to blame. Trash being left everywhere isn't the managements fault - it's the residents. Take the time to put trash where it belongs and we are all happy. Nothing but pure laziness which I can only assume is coming from the massive intake of rich young kids that seem to be overrunning the place lately. Or people who just don't give a shit. 3. Noise - If you have people living above you - you will hear them all night long. If they have children running around, I'm sorry! Some people have dogs barking at all hours of the night. Fire alarms used to go off ALL the time, however I have noticed this becoming noticeably better, probably as people realize you CAN NOT smoke inside your apt. I have had issues multiple times with the stove setting off the alarms which can get very annoying if you like to cook. 4. Location - I live along the alley - I haven't had too much issues with homeless people as described before, and I'm out there constantly walking my dog. There are times when I see shady people hanging around and the alley does get more car action than I anticipated it would get. In the morning, there is just a steady stream of cars going through it as a short cut to work down the street. That can get pretty annoying, but nothing you can do about that. 5. Smaller issues like cleaning wipes in the gym not being refilled constantly, or the pool house that has a kitchen that is now always empty (used to be stocked when I first moved in). Positive: The apartments themselves are decent. Yes they were probably cheaply slapped together. But if you take care, they hold up fine. If you want quality, you better look for condos instead. We hardly use the Monarch Tree, as I have my own Apple TV I use. Internet speed has improved significantly since we first moved in. I have seen security walking around. Not sure how much of a difference it has made yet, but it's a step in the right direction. To end, I think what sold the community for me in the beginning was that I was under the impression it would be a community for the young business/tech savy workforce. With so many ad agencies, production companies moving into the area - it's a shame the place is quickly becoming a pit for rich kids who can't take care of themselves. But I think it's true when they say management has been largely more focused on filling units more than they have with managing current residents. The whole place seems somewhat under staffed. For as much money as they pull in a month, I think they can afford to bring in additional help. read more

We have lived here for 6 weeks and have had bad experience after bad experience. They bill themselves as a luxury building but then don't ensure the "luxury" amenities are available or functional. The security is nonexistent. They advertise a secure building, but the gates are regularly left open over night so any car can get anywhere on the premises and at least one of the locks on the doors to the outside has been broken since we moved in. In addition to security concerns the pipes are so loud they wake us up more nights than not as the air conditioner drains through the pipes connected to the bathroom sink. We mentioned this to management we got a look like we were crazy and told "yeah that's the air conditioner, if you use it it's going to do that." I've always had air conditioning and never heard anything like this. More dramatically, a pipe burst flooding a few apartments a few months after the building was completed. Our apartment was thankfully fine, but the construction crew fixing the destroyed units leaves messes including nails in the hallway which we discovered when our dog tried to eat one. When we notified management they asked if we cleaned it and now 3 days later have still done nothing. There is also what looks like vomit outside that apartment that has also been there for days. The place is really quiet! The price worth the place. Pool and jacuzzi are amazing and you would find the common areas always free for you! The gym is ok, they could put more diversity on the machines. The business center is incredible, you have a Mac and a printer and coffee all the time! This place has everything you could possibly want. We've lived in and around the Marina for almost 20 years, and this is the spot. Close enough to everything -- freeways, parks, shops, but far enough from the Lincoln/Washington 'crush'/parking lot. Here you have Jefferson, Centinela, the 90 FWY, Culver Blvd, even Short Ave to help you get anywhere efficiently. Next... The Apartment -- stunning! Everything new! Very spacious (super high-ceilings), comfy bedrooms, giant bathrooms, cool layout, state-of-the-art appliances, beautiful floors/carpeting and ...it's super quiet! With a nice-sized pool, a killer hot tub and a 24-hour gym, this place truly has it all. And anytime you need something repaired, you simply put in a service request (on their website), and it generally gets fixed the same day! Totally cool. Anyways, if you're even thinking about leasing in this area, there are two options: 1) go look at a few nearby properties, then come here to compare, or 2) just come here and sign! Look, you get what you pay for. And let me tell you -- you will not find another property in this area, with these amenities, as fairly priced. But don't dilly-dally. Actually very grateful to have new management on board. Things are getting done. I get to park in my allocated spot without a stranger taking it. Trash also gets picked up on time without lingering in hallways. I really wish that they could do something about the no-smoking policy because some of my neighbors aren't adhering to it. The new management is trying really hard. I had an issue with the smoke smell and, I think his name is Justin, was really understanding and told me they are handling it - seems like the new team are doing a great job. I could not be happier with my entire leasing experience at The Millennium Del Rey. Let's start with the most obvious - it has an AMAZING location. It is conveniently close to the freeway, beach and the up & coming city life WITHOUT the noise and traffic. It has every amenity you can think of including an indoor-outdoor gym that actually makes you want to work out. The units are spacious with top of the line finishes and appliances. However, this property's biggest asset is it's leasing staff. After looking at close to 10 communities in the area, I have a lot to compare them to and they are THE BEST. They showed me several floor plans, several times on several occasions without pushing me to lease or with an attitude. They were welcoming and funny and will answer all of your questions. Thanks to them, especially Jon Ranier, I have a new apartment that I am extremely excited about. read more

We moved into this apartment building in April and we love it. We are a family with 2 kids and got one of the HUGE 3 bedroom apartments with 2 floors. Everything is new and nice. We love to be able to drive up to the 3rd floor of the garage and just have a few steps to our apartment. The bathrooms are huge, lots of space for the kids stuff, the windows are big, the kitchen offers a lot of space. We fell in love with the high sealing of the apartment too. Washer/dryer inside the apartment was a must-have with kids. We love the pool area and my wife is using the gym frequently. The staff is great. service staff respond quickly. Okay, updating my review. The pool is now warm, the building smells soooo much better now that they are enforcing the NO SMOKING/clean air policy, trash is not piled up in the hallways, less dog mess. Over all I am pretty happy! So maybe it's the management, maybe it's the management company. Either way great job guys. Also nice touch on the better coffee in the community coffee machine! The Accent is by far both the most EXPENSIVE and WORST place I have ever lived. The "beautiful" exterior is all a facade. What ever you do, DO NOT MOVE INTO UNIT 147 especially. In the ONE YEAR of living there we had- 2 LEAKS/FLOODS taking over one whole side of the apartment 3 WASHING MACHINE REPAIRS, 1 FRIDGE REPAIR, 1 AIR CONDITIONING REPAIR, 1 MICROWAVE REPAIR, 1 KITCHEN SINK REPAIR, etc there were so many issues it was constant. Mind you these repairs were not fixed in a day, not even a few days, each of these took at minimum a week or two to fix. And that was with us continuously calling the leasing office to move things along. Areyh, the manager of the complex is completely useless. He is very hard to get a hold of and does not offer any costumer service. He will tell you that since the building is 5 years old it's common for the appliances to all be breaking down. And in the end he doesn't work in customer service and no discounts for the issues. The property manager above Areyh also does not care. For having our place have all of these issues we begged to have $300 of our rent. That was the only compensation given and only for the floods. None of the other employees in the office are helpful and its always a revolving door in the office. At least 3 different people in the year I lived there. This place also charges a $50 a month fee for what they call "trash concierge" which really it's everyone leaving their trash in the hallway to be picked up. And if it's not perfectly wrapped in a specific way and in a specific spot it doesn't get picked up. Causing the whole hallway to smell like garbage. I've lived in at least 3 different complexes and this takes the cake for ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Also there are rats in the apartment complex. And they don't care that because of covid you can't use any of the amenities. Continue paying full price for a bunch of things they offer but you can't use. read more

We have lived here since the summer. It's a really nice complex BUT stay away!!!! They are horrible about keeping it "classy." It seems like every other weekend they are playing extremely loud music downstairs the whole complex can hear... For the amount of money you pay don't stay here... If I was going to sign up for hearing people party every night I would have moved to Hollywood! So seriously think about it if you work normal hours... We have to have our windows closed the majority of the time because of people outside! Oh and probably the most important, ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING!! And that includes guest parking. The guest parking is used up by ALL of the residents... Can't wait for the lease to be up... So over this complex! Nice complex BUT needs some serious work. 1st of the staff is AWESOME!!!!! We arrived from Florida on April with no where to live. Our first stop was going to be Weseterly on Lincoln since we had put a deposit for a unit. Oddly enough, we received a phone call the same day we arrived to LA by Rainer. We inquired about an apartment here a couple of weeks before we decided to head to LA,but we weren't to sure about as we thought Westerly was right for us. Some how we got steered away from the Westerly and decided to make The millennium Del Rey the first stop. Once we saw the units, the amenities, etc......to make it short, we ended up loosing the deposit we had for The Westerly over The Millennium. Four months into our lease, we do not regret it at all. We are more than satisfied that we made this decision. The spot is right on. School for my kids are only a walk away. Work is a short drive away. Most importantly we are not stuck in the Lincoln Traffic over by the Westerly. The staff is great to work with and will go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met. I almost forgot, all the events we had have been amazing! You definitely will not regret choosing The Millennium Del Rey. We are one happy family at The Millennium del Rey. read more

Yes, Accent was originally promoted as a smart luxury apartment. Both of which are not true. Wi-Fi and mobile signals jam or slows constantly (despite paying top dollar for service & hardware) and neither the service providers or Accent maintaince can rectify. The speakers in the ceilings don't work with Apple TV nor the remote temperature control as promised when we moved in. But what they do keep their word on is raising the rent 15-25% annually. If you are thinking to move into a unit which hasn't been completley refurbished in exchange for lower rent, expect your rent to be raised as soon as new management moves in (which occurs annually). Becasue they will have no idea, or care, what the previous management company promised you, just bend over and say ahhhhhh. read more

Don't get me wrong, this is an upscale apartment complex community and has a great location. My gripes are geared towards management and the leasing office. 1. Parking-still a major issue. I live currently in a two bedroom apt, and have been living here for just over a year. We were initially given two free side by side parking spots in our contract. When it came time for renewal, we were given a letter stating that we would only be getting one parking spot, and would have to pay $75/month for the second spot. I was pretty outraged and spoke with the leasing manager about this issue. She reassured me that this was a mistake, and that because we are in a two bedroom, we would get the second spot for free. Wrong. When it came time for us to renew our lease, we were again told that we would have to pay for the second spot. I still cannot figure out why the leasing manager would lie to me about this in the first place. 2. Safety-there have been several alleged bike, storage, and vehicle burglaries over the past year. I no longer feel safe walking around this area at night. I have yet to see any security around at night. 3. Cleanliness-dog poop everywhere. There is a dog park that is rarely cleaned, and smells god awful in the heat. There is dog poop all around the landscaping. Perhaps this is a reflection of type of tenants that live in the apartment complex. It's pretty disgusting. Overall I find the leasing agents rather cold and not as helpful as I would like. I moved into MDR in November and love living here. I've met some really great people and get tons of compliments about my apartment and the property. For me, I love: + location - I work near LAX and my commute is around 10 mins; close to Target / Fox Hills Mall; close to Playa Vista dog park / community; close to the brand new movie theater, CVS and Whole Foods - opening any day now! I also frequently walk to the nearby Starbucks, Gaby's Mediterranean, Playa Vista Central Park and LMU Running Trail. + dog community - so nice to dog poo bags and garbage cans around the property and the mini dog park enclosure for the pups to play in + business center - I never thought I would need / use this but I run in to print things out ALL of the time. It's never crowded and they have a Mac and PC available for use. + pool - super clean and beautiful with very comfy chaise lounges + staff - from the maintenance team and gardeners to the leasing staff, everyone is super friendly and willing to help. + online rent payment - I do not miss cutting my last landlord paper checks. Love the internet!! + bikes - my friend and I borrowed the two beach cruisers located in the Bike Kitchen. They were free to rent and we biked the Ballona Trail, stopped for lunch at Playa Provisions, and then biked home - such a fun day activity. They even had helmets and locks for us to use. I would give it a five but like others have mentioned, there were some initial problems with parking, alarms sounding and quality of construction. Management is working hard to correct the parking overflow and alarms and overall, are friendly and always willing to help. read more

DO NOT live here. For the price, you will be able to find a much more pleasurable living situation. I lived in Accent from 9/16 to 10/17. First 3 months were great until the management was changed out. The new management killed the whole experience. I must say I feel bad for Patrick and Felipe who are honestly trying to do their best with their power-tripping, unprofessional, and childish boss, Justin. Wow you will not believe this guy. Seems nice and welcoming until you need something done or have any type of issue which is his job to resolve. All the sudden he can't hide behind his pleasant front and begins to act holier than thou and talks down to you like he's the second coming of christ. Customer service? That's a joke. Picture his only thoughts involving the bottom-line ($$$) and feeling like he's the man in charge. I have even heard him talking down to his own staff members. He probably feels like he knows everything with his 5th-tier MBA. Anyways, prepare for the following if you still want to live here: (1) $50 compounding fine for putting too much trash out for the valet trash service you already pay for (2) having your guests towed from GUEST parking for visiting for too long (over the weekend?!) (3) No coffee cups in the coffee room!?! (removed, now have to bring your own mug... more cost effective lol) (4) Under no circumstances will you ever receive your deposit back (place was left impeccable and they want even more money) Lastly, guys, just read the other comments. This place only has a 3ish star rating because of the great work the previous management did. This new management has done nothing but drag the community down.
