We submitted the issue on Friday night, but since the home warranty company doesn't include weekends, we got a call from Accent Plumbing first thing on Monday morning. They gave us their first available, and sent Sergio out on Thursday morning. I got a call from the office when the plumber was on his way, and he showed up like clockwork when they said he would. Since 2004, I have been calling Accent Plumbing for all my plumbing needs from our Primary House to our rental houses. So for 19 years, only now that I am going to write them a Yelp Review. Sergio, Efrain and Efrain Jr. has always been my greatest hero 100% of the time. They have helped me with a 5 stars quality of workmanship for 19 years. Recently, my being evicted tenant seems to have unplugged their water heater and called the City that they do not have hot water, instead of just communicating to me per their Lease Agreement, understandably, they are being evicted so it seems to me that they wanted to cause me any problem. The City gave me a Warning Yellow Ticket to replace the water heater in 72 hours on a Tuesday late afternoon and requiring me to make sure that the tenant has water heater by Friday afternoon. I called Accent Plumbing first because they are always my 1st choice, and they came Wednesday afternoon to diagnose and took photos and told me that someone unplugged the water heater, but if you want to replace the water heater it will cost under $1,700, I was ok with this price, I emailed the photos to the City Inspector, and told them all my Action items. I applied for an owner/builder permit which Accent Plumbing sign their portion. On Thursday morning, I got an email back from the City Permit Services that my application is rejected, because they wanted the Contractor to be the one to apply for the permit, because the tenant called the city to tell that they have no hot water because their water heater is broken, since Accent Plumbing was super busy that day, I panicked, I called another plumbing company just to ask if they can pull the permit and replace the water heater, that company in Burbank came to diagnose the heater and called me back and said, this will cost you $5,900, I will pull the permit and blah blah... I was disappointed, that was ridiculously super high quote.. this guy is a reap off, I got him from Yelp as well (beware, that plumber who priced me so high is in Burbank). I called Accent Plumbing again to tell them what should I do, they said, maybe we can just repair it because it looks like someone unplugged the connections. I begged them to please help me, and they did on Thursday they were able to repair the water heater for just about $800. I pray that Accent Plumbing will be operational for the rest of my life, they are honest, reasonable and is family owned business, they are very respectful, their Office Staff Ms. Denise are super nice... why call someone who will reap you off? Call Accent Plumbing they are a licensed plumber for over 2 decades now. Trustworthy!!! Our home warranty company sent out Accent Plumbing for a second opinion. Efrain and Jr. showed up to our house on time. Having recently been burned by the first company the home warranty company sent out, I was a bit on edge and wanted the whole assessment process documented via videotape. They were open to it; however, my anxiety was immediately put at ease. Efrain was the lead technician and quickly identified the leaking pipe, answered all my questions, and was able to fix the issue in like half an hour. He was professional, competent, and a great communicator. There was no upsell or non-covered items. Both technicians were respectful of our place, kept things tidy, and worked efficiently. I would happily use Accent Plumbing again in the future. They even helped me to feel a little better about home warranties, which is definitely saying something! read more

Sent out by American Home Shield to fix a sewer ejector pump. Claimed the problem was that it wasn't getting power, so, of course AHS won't cover, but they get their service call fee. Called our regular plumber and low and behold it wasn't that at all. The pump overheated and went into safe mode. I guess they didn't want to get dirty. read more

Accent Plumbing came to my house to install a garbage disposal. The replacement was to be with the same or like type of disposal. They came with the smallest (tiniest) garbage disposal that I've ever seen. I priced it (it cost $40). The one to be replaced was an Insinkerator. I asked for a bigger disposal, they left (6/17/22) and never returned. They are now refusing to service my request. read more

Submitted a service request via American Home Shield, and was assigned to Accent Plumbing. It was late in the day, so I wasn't able to call them until the following morning. Was able to get an appointment the next day, though the rep said he'd try to fit me in the same day if there was a cancellation. There ended up being no cancellation, but it was still appreciated. Efrain and an apprentice showed up on time the next morning. Fixed the issue quickly and was able to put everything back under the sink before I told him I could do it myself. Still, I appreciated both the quick fix and the willingness to put everything back proactively. About as smooth as a home warranty service request as one could hope for. Definitely hope future claims are assigned to these guys (though also hoping there won't be a need for many claims!). read more

They showed up on Friday for 2 issues. Bathtub overflow stopper, and flusher. Technician said my tank needed replacement and soonest he could get part was Wednesday! This company is a SCAM! Read my story: This has to be the number one worst plumbing company I have ever dealt with. The issue is still not resolved. My faucet's filter needed to be replaced, and the plumber arrived, took a look at the filter, and then left, without so much as measuring the size of the thread. He had a terrible attitude and also refused to take a look at my shower's too-high pressure. The plumbing company ordered a part that took over a month to arrive, and it was the wrong size for my faucet when the plumber arrived to install. I showed the plumber the old part that needed to be replaced and asked him to please measure it so that he could order the right part next time. He refused, saying "I don't measure things" and left. I then called the plumbing company to ask for a different plumber to arrive right away to take measurements. I have not heard back from the company. That is where I am now, and this is TOTALLY unacceptable. I still do not have a faucet that works and it has been two months. Do NOT use this company!! read more

Worst and most stressful experience I have ever gone though. 13 days without a water heater and still waiting. I am unable to reach anybody at American Home Shield at any of the 20 different numbers provided and Accent Plumbing doesn't care. Accent Plumbing is still waiting for heater shipment to arrive since 6/7/2021 and in the meantime it's 95 degrees and I have had no water for 13 days. i have received two letters in the mail stating out of pocket expenses with no explanation of why. Accent Plumbing claims they need access to a neighbors unit to do work that will cost me more money and will not install new heater unless I remove washer dryer prior. I could not find anyone to help within a two week period and Accent being a plumbing company refused a separate payment to help me remove small stack washer and dryer which doesn't need to be removed to install a new water heater. in addition, water heater leaked to the downstairs unit and insurance liability claim cannot start work on those repairs until Accent Plumbing removes the leaking water heater from my unit. I called my plumber who came by to take a look and can do the job without accessing a neighbors unit or removing the washer/dryer. AHS and Accent Plumbing are scammers and have the worst customer service. Please be careful, read more

Thought this would be a 5 star review. We called our home warranty and they sent these guys out. We had no hot water for 3 days and let's just say that's rough with 3 young kids. Thought it would be a great and easy fix as all the Yelp reviews are great. I just shake my head, as this is so not the case. Sergio came out and showed up at 4:45 (window of 12-5 ugh). Worked for about 20-25 min and said it works great. "Should have hot water in 20 min". He was right, 20 or so minutes later we had hot water. I took a shower, my 14 year old took a shower....great! Woke up today and my husband took a shower, NO HOT WATER. tried to run water for dishes, no hot water. So now we are stuck at at impass. Sergio claims he fixed it, it worked for an hour give or take. And it's Sunday so it's closed. My young kids do not have hot water again. To say the least, I am extremely disappointed, esp since all the Yelp reviews told me how great this company was. read more

American Home Shield sent this company after I asked for a second opinion. Here's the story I read a lot of reviews on here that people were upset that additional charges were made to replace a water heater. I probably would have felt the same, but the first company that was sent over wanted $1,300 worth of charges for noncovered items. I had already gotten several quotes to replace the water heater, so I knew this was BS I called around a few more places and did verify that because the code has been upgraded, even though I bought my house just two years ago my old water heater was grandfathered in and additional items like an expansion tank and some other valves were now required. Still, I knew that $1,300 was ridiculous and they were adding things that we're not necessary, such as a new recirculation pump, when mine was brand new. So by the time accent Plumbing came, I knew what to expect. They are quote came in $800 less than the other company. For example they said I did not need a drip pan because my water heater was in the garage and if it leaked, it would not ruin the house. I really appreciated this honesty. So while there was still nearly $500 in uncovered items, I actually think this is what happens when you have to put in a new water heater with the new code. Sergio and his coworker were courteous and respected social distancing with this coronavirus, and they even came back out when I thought I was smelling gas. In sum, they were very professional and courteous. As I stated at the beginning, I may have been very upset by the additional charges, but after my diligence, I truly believe this was necessary as part of the new code. And the fact that the quote came in $800 less than the first company shows that the first company where the true scam artists so if you're making any kind of warranty call from American Home Shield, do your diligence know what to expect if you think you're being taken advantage of. These people got sent by American Home Shield to replace my water heater. Since apparently AHS pays them very little, they try to recoup the loss by gouging the customer with made up "non covered items" at ridiculously inflated prices, totaling over $600 in my case - for something that is supposed to be covered under AHS's home warranty plan I pay for! They even tried to charge for a recirculating pump that I already had in perfect working condition, which is completely dishonest. They're total crooks and I will report them to the BBB. Home Warranty company sent Accent Plumbing to fix our two toilets. One had a sticky handle and the other took 20 minutes to fill the tank with water. We had another plumber look at it the other day to see if it would be less expensive than paying the home warranty company. The other plumbers said it was a $200 part, so we told them no thank you and called the warranty company. I really liked Accent Plumbing from the very start. We called them on Tuesday. They let me know they couldn't be here until Friday, but that they did carry a variety of parts so they could probably get the job done the same day. That was important to me because we were having company on Saturday. Then, on Wednesday, they had an opening and offered to come by. They were in and out in 20 minutes. Sergio and JR. I found Accent Plumbing through American Home Shield. They called me at 8 in the am, and by 10:30 were here to help with my leaking faucet and broken garbage disposal. Efrain was very, very good. Extremely friendly and polite worker, highly skilled, he got right to the root of both problems and fixed both in just under an hour. I appreciate him taking the time to show me what was wrong with both of my issues. The faucet was an easy fix, rust build-up that he was able to see and fix in just a a few minutes. When I mentioned my garbage disposal sounded strange, he offered to check it out, and then advised I call back AHS to have it added on to the service request and avoid paying another service fee. The garbage disposal itself was broken, so he replaced it with a brand new one. I couldn't be happier with this company, and highly recommend them. Sergio and an assistant came to our house today. Sergio replaced a kitchen sink pipe under our house, he had to squeeze himself into a very narrow crawl space and did the job beautifully! (BTW, another plumber had told me we needed to replace ALL of the pipes to the sinks. Sergio said we do NOT need this AT ALL!!! Got a few estimates from various places on Yelp and they were very high. I had used Accent a while back and remembered Accent has an hourly charge so called them. They did the repair in 30 mins and charged 1 hour minimum - which was still less than the on line quotes. Cold showers 3 days in a row. I'm $270 and two days into a water heater repair for a pilot light that still won't work. First day, they replace the thermocouple. It was replaced a year and a half ago, so not entirely sure why this was the only thing checked. That night, pilot light still goes out, problem not diagnosed properly or fixed. Second day, today, they replaced the control knobs. Light goes out. Still does not work. Water cold and I cannot even get the pilot light to ignite period. Seriously? Thermocouples that need to be replaced every one-two years is a normal and accepted level of quality? This water heater industry is a racket. Ok. I left an angry message just now (sorry, I hate feeling taken advantage of), will post after I calm down and see how this is dealt with. UPDATE: It's been a few weeks. The company sent someone the following day at no extra charge, and the water heater has been working just fine since. For $270 it felt a little pricey for a pilot light fix, give that puts me at 1/4-1/3 of the cost of a new water heater. read more

When our water heater broke in the midst of this frigid winter snap, Accent Plumbing Inc was referred to us by our American Home Shield (our home warranty company). Their staff, Denise, was extremely understanding with our untimely, frustrating water heater situation (the fact that my kids could not take a shower in this freezing weather!). So she quickly squeezed us in, and Sergio and another worker came out the 1st thing next morning! (I had called late afternoon and yet Denise worked her magic to have the plumbers come out so quickly!) They did have to run to a supply store after they figured out the issue. But when that did not resolve the problem, they ordered a new gas control valve to replace our older version, and as promised, they returned the next day promptly and fixed our water heater!! Sergio is truly an expert professional and has a keen insight as to what and how things should be fixed. I really appreciate the fact that Sergio did not give up on my water heater and worked on it until it was perfectly fixed! And he cleaned up the area and put everything back before he left. First off, Accent Plumbing is recommended by American Home Shield. That should be warning enough. In my experience with American Home Shield and in my opinion, they are little more than a con. They play bait and switch. When you call in for a repair it is covered under your policy. When the work is done it is NOT covered. Another Scam plumber. This company was assigned by American Home Scam (American Home Shield) to fix my water heater. They came to my home and right away point out that my exhaust vent was not 4 inch but 3 inch. I don't understand why this is such a big problem since the manufacture of the water heater saying that 3 inch exhaust vent is enough. They don't fix the problem with my pilot that won't keep lid on, instead they want me to fix the exhaust vent that cost me over $2000 and they won't be able to diagnose my problem until the exhaust vent has been fixed. They offered me to replace my water heater with tankless water heater etc. And i refuse to do this. This is not a plumber but a salesman trying to sell something to you. Untrusted, DON't invite them to your home if you don't want to get ripped off!!!! read more

I had a leaky flexible hose in my kitchen sink. American Home-shield sent a plumber from V n son, he tried to assess the problem but in the middle of his diagnostic, he said he cannot do the work when someone is watching n left. Then I was sent Efraim from Accent plumbing, he diagnosed the issues n fixed it in no time. Changed the flexible hose as well as strainer basket which was second issue I had. I am glad he didn't mind me looking while he did his work!! Efraim was very professional, he knew what he was doing and completed his work. I m glad AHS uses accent plumbing.
