Cons Came to my house to confirm whether they could do the job and said they could, so I hired them. On the day of the job they said they couldn't do half of what they were hired to do. They still tried to charge me full price and I had to fight them to reduce the price to the work they actually did. They also tried to charge me a credit card surcharge without disclosing there was one before doing the work, which is illegal. I invited their team to visit my property to provide an accurate quote for replacing the water pipeline from the street meter to my home with copper, as well as installing a shutoff valve and a water leak monitor (which I supplied). Although the lead plumber came to the site, he left without speaking to me, and I was unaware that the visit had taken place until I later received a phone call with a quotation. During that call, I specifically informed them that my water pipeline is not a standard size and needed to be carefully verified. The representative seemed surprised and stated that they would need to send a technician again to take proper measurements. This immediately raised concerns about what had been done during the initial visit and how a quote could have been prepared without confirming the pipe dimensions. A second site visit was conducted, photos were provided, and the quote was increased based on new findings. After two inspections, I reasonably assumed that all measurements had been properly verified and that the revised quote was final. Based on that understanding, I proceeded to schedule the pipe replacement. However, on the scheduled workday, after the job had already begun, they measured the pipe again and informed me that the quote would need to be increased by $1,000 due to a measurement error. Even more concerning, after presenting this adjustment, they left to check on supplies and returned with yet another $1,000 increase--despite there being no change in scope or new circumstances. A few minutes later, I received an additional call requesting another $600, stating that they needed a specific fitting to connect my 1¼-inch water leak monitor to the 2-inch pipeline--sizes they were already aware of when preparing the quote. At that point, I decided to cancel the work. Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. Repeatedly revising the quote due to measurement errors--especially after multiple site visits and prior confirmation of pipe sizes and scope--demonstrates a serious lack of accuracy, coordination, and professionalism. read more

Called on Christmas day as my sewer line was backing up into the house. Velocity responded within 30 mins and scheduled an appointment for next morning. Arrived on time. We have old clay pipes and have had extensive root growth removed several times. Thought it only needed to be hydrojeted, but after scoping, was clearly broken pipes. Velocity gave me a fair estimate for replacing and returned the next day with full crew and all gear necessary for a very significant job: completely replacing all pipes from house to main in the street. They arrived on time, had multiple trucks, extensive amount of equipment and supplies and a very dedicated, hard working crew. They worked from 8A until 10P getting it done in one day so we were able to use our plumbing. It was a huge endeavor requiring them to lay 40+ feet of new pipe and then add a liner from sidewalk to main. They came back the following day to fill in the giant holes they had to dig in my front yard. Highly recommend. They are very skilled and professional, their office replied to all questions regarding process and billing within MINUTES (even over the holiday) and the communication and follow-up was thorough. read more

I was really disappointed with their service. My kitchen sink was clogged, so I contacted several companies. Since it wasn't a major blockage, I decided to go with this company because they offered the lowest quote of $145 after reviewing photos of the issue. They arrived on time, but before even starting the work, they suddenly said it looked like a "bigger job" and raised the price to $200. I explained that it was just a minor food clog and could easily be cleared with a drain snake, but they ignored me and sighed heavily while working. Even after clearing the clog, they tried to charge me an additional $850 for extra work. I refused and only paid the originally agreed $145 before asking them to leave. If you plan to hire this company, be prepared to firmly say no when they demand extra charges. read more

Pricing is great. Customer service from the folks to man the phone is good Plumbers... could use some work. I would have given them 1 star if they didn't remedy. Plumber 1 could speak both english and spanish Pluber 2 couldn't speak english that well, but was able to call the office and have them translate. Would I consider them again? Possibly. But I'd def be mindful of their work. The work involved 2 sinks and their pvc pipe below. To include the tailpiece, the P-trap and a separate pipe piece that connected to my HVAC system. Basically we wanted to swap the HVAC exit line from one sink to another. Plumber 1 came to fix something, he fixed it.. But after he left it began to leak. When I called him about it he said I'd need to snake the drain to fix the leak... So instead I started looking into it. Turns out he cut my tailpiece too short, causing the rest of the PVC to not be able to grab onto anything.. Once I called the office, they sent out another person to replace the tailpiece that was longer. Did the fix... But later it started leaking.. Low and behold it was because Plumber 2 didn't tighten the tailpiece at the top enough. So it started leaking from there. I did tell Plumber1 to not come down after i found the leak, he said he didn't do anything wrong and that it was my pipes that needed to be cleaned out.. Guess he forgot he cut my tailpiece super short. Funny thing is, i dont think he needed to cut it in the first place. For Plumber2's work, After the frustation with Plumber1 I decided to troubleshoot it myself. I told the office i dont need anyone coming again. But yes after my own investigation I found the tailpiece wasn't tight enough. Yes after Plumber1 and 2 did their work, they tried a leak test, but the leak didn't happen until after. Yes the office tried to help me out, so that's good of them. read more

Hiring Velocity was a costly mistake - you can find more professional, reliable, capable options. We hired Velocity to snake our bathtub after noticing a smell that would emit from the tub after the tub drained. We had several plumbing companies come out before Velocity, they all said the same thing - it's probably due to a minor blockage, we just needed to snake out the tub. The initial crew Velocity sent out didn't speak English - it made it hard to communicate and understand what was going on, what was being done and ask any questions we had. We fully support giving everyone a chance to work, but it would have been helpful to have someone on site who we could communicate with. When velocity's team snaked the tub it, it took 4 attempts before clearing a tiny blockage (no worries, we get it takes a few attempts). The first 2 times they snaked they went through the tub overflow and then once through the main tub drain then once through an adjoining shower drain. I'm not sure the team that was there had a ton of experience snaking drains. Ultimately it seemed like the tub was draining faster so we figured the problem had been solved. We tested by filling the tub a tiny amount (no where near the overflow) and running the shower. The following night we used the bathtub for the first time since the service from velocity. Our tub is upstairs, it was used then we went to bed upstairs. We woke up the next morning, walked downstairs and the room directly below the tub was soaked. There was water pooling on our dining room table - which has some damage now. Our area rug was soaked and the hardwood floors below have some warping and damage now that didn't exist before, and water was still slowly dripping from the ceiling. I reached out to velocity immediately, they said they would have someone come out in a few hours. I asked them to send someone who could speak English this time and send someone highly experienced since we had a huge problem on our hands that was created as a direct result of their work. About 5 hours later their team showed up. It was one of the two guys from the day before and a new guy. They looked at the room and said they'd have to come back the next day. After being told what the problem was and about the severity of the problem they showed up unprepared and didn't send an appropriate crew. At that point I had to battle to get them to accept any sort of responsibility and show back up to fix the problem. They were trying to dodge being accountable for fixing the plumbing problem and continued refusing to take responsibility for damaged caused as a result of the leak. The next day the two original guys who caused the problem showed back up, at least this time a new guy came with who could communicate. They cut the ceiling open to inspect the pipes from below - not fully agreeing to cover the cost of anything being done until they determined it was their fault. The discovered that the overflow pipe from the tub had been knocked loose during the snaking and that water had been pouring into the ceiling outside the pipe. The solution was to fix the overflow, cut away part of the ceiling, dry it out then patch and paint. The pipe got fixed, they didn't cut as much of the ceiling and directly dry inside as originally promised, but they did end up patching and painting. The worst part is now, we have no clue if the overflow was actually fixed correctly. When they tested the tub overflow after making the fixes, no water spilled outside the pipe (we checked with the ceiling still open) and I agreed it looked like it had been fixed. A couple days later my wife noticed that they had completely sealed up the overflow externally from the tub side with silicone. You couldn't visually see this, we only discovered it when she touched the overflow intake. The crew made zero mention of this and this shouldn't have been done. If the repairs were done correctly, why seal the overflow with clear silicone and hide that you did it? I'm convinced this was sealed before I watched them fill the tub to test their work because after that test they never went back upstairs again. It seems like they sealed it shut so no water could go down the overflow and they could distance themselves from the problem. We're out the money for the original appointment, our hardwood floors have some damage, our rug had to get sent out to be cleaned at our cost, our dining room table has water damage on it, an now we have no clue if the problem caused by velocity was actually fixed correctly because they weren't honest about sealing up either overflow with silicone before showing us it didn't leak. The overflow shouldn't be fully sealed, water should be able to flow down that pipe and now it can't. The day of the last fix I asked to speak with the owner. It's been 1 week now and I haven't heard anything. There's no paperwork when they arrive for appointments, no paperwork or receipt post work, not a great experience. read more

While I appreciate equal opportunity hiring, clear communication is essential for good customer service. The company should have informed me beforehand about the language barrier. After installing the regulator valve, we saw that the water pressure was abnormally low in the house, and the technician had to do troubleshooting with us. This is where the communication issues really slowed down the process and made things difficult. In the end, the technician found out that he had installed the regulator incorrectly and the pressure in the house resumed to normal after he corrected his error. Overall, I'm glad the work is done but am disappointed in the communication gaps and the error made in the installation. read more
