Egusi soup, fufu and turkey tails.

This place is great if you want to try West African food and you're not as familiar. The food was absolutely full of flavor, fresh and the employees were so patient and kind. They gave us samples of each item and everything so we could be sure of what we wanted. I definitely recommend to check it out!

I've wanted to try west African food for years, and I was so glad I had the opportunity to do that at Accra! The line wasn't too long after work, and it seemed like everyone gets takeout here. The lady behind the counter asked if it was my first time here, and she gave me samples of all of the soups to pick out what I liked the most. I thought everything was delicious, but my favorites were the okra and the palm nut. And I definitely had to get fufu :) The okra was super slippery, which was so nice with the fufu. The palm nut was also very savory, and I've never had anything like it before. I got the mixed meat, which is just a bunch of cuts of beef, lamb, and goat taken from all of the sauces. One thing I didn't expect is that the okra and palm nut soups were mixed together, which was still yummy but you won't get to really try it separately.

As a birthday treat, I wanted some fufu to remind me of home. I decided to give this location another chance and ordered delivery through the Africa dishout app. I was surprised to see my order was accepted, which meant they were open! Fast forward to my food arriving, and I was in heaven! The only reason I give it four stars is because the soup was a little too spicy for me and the fufu ball was MASSIVE. Got halfway through and wasn't sure how I was going to get through the rest. But it was good!

Great spot to grab and go in Harlem. I ordered online but you can also walk up and choose as you wish down the assembly line style setup they have in the restaurant. I got the jollof rice which has rice and chicken. The curry sauce was extremely flavorful, rich, delicious, and even had a little kick of spice. The lunch serving I got was pretty big so I ended up saving it for lunch the next day. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return when I happen to be in the area!

Ordered food through doordash. I only ordered Banku and Peanut Stew since I have never tried West African food and wanted to ease in. I was very satisfied with the portion of the food as well as the taste. This experience has made me feel confident enough to want to order egusi and okra stew next time.

I came by on a Sunday around 1PM while running an errand in the area and went with a to go order and was not disappointed. I ordered large jollof with chicken ($16 - cash only). Sadly, beef or goat weren't available and turkey tails would require some additional time to prepare. The unavailable items were no problem though and the jollof was satisfying on its own. Hefty portion with a great flavor and nice spicy little kick. Would definitely stop by again if in the area and craving African food.

    Egusi soup mixed meat

This review is for Accra express on 125. The Egusi soup tasted heavily like onions n peppers, did not have the rich yellowish color of melon seeds you would expect from ordering this soup.First time being disappointed by the flavor and texture as it is my go to. I of course tried to push thru and eat it ,but yeah no

Will not be returning. The service was always bad, but the food was good. Now the food is trash. Just pure garbage. Very disappointed. I waisted $17 on something I cannot eat. The meat is hard and dry and so is the rice. Will not be going back!

Great food. Would recommend. Casual walk-in place. They often provide samples to try.

Foods terrific. Great food and similar to location in the Bronx. You can sub fish for chicken in your jollof rice.

She also had the Arnold Palmer, which was great. Comes with fries which were good. I had the oxtail, with a side of garlic mash and Mac n cheese. Yes! Lots of carbs, don't judge me! lol The oxtail were pretty fatty and fell short in flavor, I also wasn't impressed by the sides. My drink, sexy sangria was delicious, strong and the service was A1, Brian was great and so was the server. Sampled the hot sauce, very good. My one critique of the establishment, smelled a little like wet mop. But the playlist was bumping and overall great vibes, love the art on the walls.

The space and volume seemed to overwhelm the staff at times. Service was friendly and welcoming but also frazzled and disorganized. We never received our appetizer until we reminded them, and our drinks (sweet tea and lemonade) also had to be requested again after a very long wait. To their credit, they did pack up the crab cake appetizer to go and removed it from the bill, which we appreciated. The fried chicken, mac and cheese, and yams were all served on top of each other. If you dont like for your food to touch, this place will be a nightmare for you. I ordered fried catfish, collard greens and potato salad. The fried catfish was served swimming in collard green juice (there's a picture of it). It was also surprising that you only get one piece of catfish, which felt underwhelming for the price, especially since it was soggy. The potato salad was served in a small separate bowl, which is typical in many Southern restaurants for ALL side dishes. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The yams were dry and not very sweet despite the menu description. The collard greens were on the sweeter side, which may work for some but wasn't my preference. The potato salad the only thing that was solid. Overall, it felt overpriced for the portion sizes and execution. The bartender seemed very skilled, and the drinks we saw being made looked great, though we didn't order any. After the long wait and missing appetizer, we skipped dessert and went elsewhere. The bathroom also needed attention and was not well maintained AT ALL! Ew The restaurant is very loud which didn't bother me at all but an FYI. It is also handicapped accessible and kid friendly. I really wanted to love the experience, but it fell below expectations in terms of service, cleanliness, and value. I might give them another try but no time soon.

It looked a little too sterile and new, so we stood in the rain while i maintained my stubborn ways, in pursuit of whatever it was that I wanted that I could not exactly put into words. Everything was looking too expensive, too clean and fake, or there were no options for dine in, and we needed to sit our wet butts down and take cover from the rain. My heart starts to flutter upon realizing we've found a soul food hot bar buffet, only half a mile away. We are overly excited and pack our platters so high that we actually have to tell ourselves to calm down. I'm reminded of when I was a child and my dad would take me to the Wegmans hot bar where I'd run up a tab for $15 worth of steamed white rice. But not today, today there is salmon, curry goat, collard greens, mac and cheese, black eyed peas, candied yams, and green beans. It was exactly the kind of snake meal we needed to end a long weekend of biking all over New York. Everything was hot, well seasoned and made with love. We watched the world cup as it poured rain, we left happy and ready to go home, but I feel grateful knowing I have a spot I would love to return to whenever I'm in New York again. We took banana pudding to go and ate it on our bus ride home while debriefing all the fun we had.
