This was my first time at this restaurant as I was just trying out something new for a special day of mine. I decided to invite a few friends, and I had spoke with management about the reservations, price, and everything else. Unfortunately, they made a mistake with the booking, which was no problem. We ended up clearing that up in just one conversation. Afterward, my friends came late and we were an hour behind schedule, which is fine because that's what we agreed to. While waiting for my friends. I decided to get a chairman while my partner got the fire on the mountain. we ended up switching because the opposite ones just tasted better to us. Once we got upstairs, we got seated and we went to order right away. Staff was very nice and professional, and of course that's when the mimosa started pouring. Didn't take long before a majority of us were messed up. Definitely, the time was fun. The only issue we had was that when the check came and we were confused as to why there was an up charge on everyone that had a steak and eggs, not to mention that this restaurant takes gratuity for everything no matter how many people are there. After disputing this, my funds were refunded back to me. The only problem I would say with this is that they need to all be on the same page as far as things like those are concerned. Otherwise, we have fun and it was an experience.

Didn't get a chance to too try the food but every plate I saw looked so good. Def want to try the food another visit. The bar service was pretty cool even for a crowded night. The ambiance was nice as heck. They have a second floor with another do playing different music so you have options. Will be back

First visit to Lagos Restaurant This was my first time visiting Lagos Restaurant, and overall it was a nice experience. The ambience was really pleasant great lighting and a comfortable vibe that makes it a good place to relax and enjoy a meal. I only ordered a starter this time: goat meat pepper soup. I originally wanted the catfish pepper soup, but they were out of it. The goat meat pepper soup had great flavor, but it was very spicy so spicy it felt like my tongue was about to fall off! If you enjoy a lot of heat, you'll probably love it. The service was good, and my drink was nice as well. Even though the pepper soup packed a serious punch, I still enjoyed the overall atmosphere and experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

Friday HH is only bar which is kinda wack since the bar isn't that big but the waitress was very kind and allowed us first round of drinks as the HH price. The food was sooooo good. Ugh I have never had jollof rice in a restaurant only home made. The snapper ? Amazing. I will be coming back! There's 3 floors so there is room for enough people. No reservations and was seated right away so that's always a plus as well! Oh! And plantain does not come with the meal it is an up charge and it's enough for you to share. You each don't need to get with your meal. They also have hookah and a photographer .

Restaurant: Lagos Restaurant and Lounge My Order: Escovitch Red Snapper with a side of Jollof Rice The Food: The food was okay overall. The sauce served with the snapper tasted more like straight hot sauce than a traditional escovitch. I ordered a side of Jollof Rice, but it was initially rung up as an entrée; management handled the correction well and resolved it without any issues. I also sampled the mac and cheese, which seemed slightly curdled. My nephew enjoyed the wings and said they were good, though I didn't try them myself. The Atmosphere: I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The space was very nice, stylish, and welcoming. The Experience: Overall, the experience was okay. The staff was friendly and attentive (but the waiter forgot my lemons) Overall Score: 6/10

Synopsis: Good music, fun vibes, Suya was decent, drinks were alright. Overall, not a dinner spot, more of a turn up spot personally. My experience wasn't bad, but it definitely could've been better. It's basically located in time square so it's better to uber or metro in. I see what everyone refers to when they say it's a super tiny spot. If you want to be seated for your vibes, drinks, and food, I highly recommend booking a reservation. We had a reservation booked for 11pm for a friend's birthday. My husband I arrived early around 10:30 pm and the restaurant/ club was completely packed. We stood around at the bar, not even at the bar cause all those seats were also taken. More so in the middle of the walkway area where we felt like we were in everyone's way. They don't seat you until your entire party has arrived. Once our group arrived, we waited a while until the waitress finally came over and took our orders. We felt like we had to flag her down every time we needed something which was tough. She was the only waitress taking care of multiple large groups so it makes sense, it just took away from the experience. We FINALLY ordered got our food, but I was disappointed in their food quality. I originally ordered a fried fish, but upon the first bite the fish tasted of poor quality. Super fishy smell and taste like it was old fish or wasn't cleaned properly. The pepper sauce that came with it tasted like a hot sauce which threw me off. I told the waitress and asked to switch my meal to the Suya and side of jollof. There was a misunderstanding with our tables order. Everyone ordered a side of jollof, but the waitress billed us for the entree. So double check your bill!!!! I made her aware, but she didn't seem phased. She asked why we didn't say anything, but if you've never been you wouldn't know how the portions should look. Especially since that "entree" plate of rice didn't come with anything. Everyone that ordered the side of jollof got the same plate, so I figured that was their portions. I ended up asking for a manager, and he handled everything kindly and was even receptive to feedback on bettering service. Our tables ordered hookah and bottles and it came with the bottle girls, signs, all that. Which really gives it that extra club / lounge feel. Food ordered: Fried fish 4/10 Suya 7/10 Jollof 6/10 Drinks: Average 6/10 Would I come back, yes, I'd give them another shot. Maybe it was an off day and the food and service could be better. I think the vibes were LIT, but the food did not match the energy and vibes. Especially for the price.

Stopped here while in New York for the weekend, aesthetically , it was pleasing to the eye . There was an upstairs and a downstairs . We sat upstairs. There was a woman nicely dressed in stilts dancing around the restaurant of which was a nice added touch. It took a lil while for our waiter to come, but it was also really crowded. The music playlist was awesome, I only wished they had a designated spaces for dancing. There was a bar area with seats. Their drinks were pretty good but overpriced for sure (but it's New York) . My daughter order snails. She said they were pretty good, I didn't eat them so I can't confirm. Overall despite the overpriced drinks, I'd come again just for the music because it made get up and danced!

Great spot to take a break from the Times Square crowds. Beautiful artwork, funky Afrobeats played by the DJs keep you in the mood as you enjoy the yummy jollof!

My co-workers and I had a free evening and were looking for something to do on a Thursday. We decided on dinner and a vibe We got lucky with street parking on the same block but I HIGHLY recommend uber. Parking logistics are a nightmare It was pretty full for a week night and there is a dress code as it seems to be geared towards professionals. It's 2 levels with 2 different music vibes but aesthetically pleasing all around. Upstairs seemed more Afro beats and ampiano while downstairs leaned more towards hip hop. They do offer hookah, seating is only for dining and the bar was full so we ended up making a reservation and were seated with 20 min. The service could've been better - we were passed over a couple times by the bartender upstairs before he decided to acknowledge us. And our table server was not very attentive. The cocktails were ok - I got a One Night Stand - too sugary and not very potent for $20. The food was much better - it's Afro Caribbean cuisine with plenty of options in case you're not familiar. I opted for the Jollof Rice w/ chicken - super impressed! It tastes authentic with the right amount of spice and a large portion so I took it to go. Overall this is a decent place if you're looking for a good happy hour or celebration vibe. Good music, great food and decent company

Atmosphere was nice & the venue was pretty cool. Had a party of 5 on a Friday night, so we were seated downstairs near the bar. Our server wasn't really attentive, but I will say, the staff help out where they're needed because we had about 3/4 different other people serving us when our server lacked. What I didn't like was when we were finished eating & paying the bill, it almost felt like they were rushing us to leave. Before we could finish, they were coming by & clearing our table & grabbing our cups before we could even finish our drinks. Wouldn't recommend this spot for a large party, but it definitely gives Girl/Guys night out or a calm date night. Took the hookah person forever to come show us a menu & then serve us. The food came out pretty quick after the waiter took our orders. The Mac & cheese was 10/10, probably the best thing I ordered. The "Sweet" plantains weren't ripe, so they weren't sweet at all. The chicken sandwich looks like a krabby patty lol, extremely chewy, very mid. Overall experience 3.8/5

Sooooooooooo, I went back and ordered Asun for an appetizer which is a tender/chewy meat with peppers, jollof rice with chicken (white meat only), and the Island Gyal Punch. And everything was delicious! i don't like meat that gets stuck in my teeth. So, the Asun is not my favorite! But the flavor is very nice. I wish the goat meat was a little more tender throughout. The jollof is definitely the best rice I've eaten. I'm literally in love with this "party" rice. The well seasoned smoky tomato flavor with hints of onions, is unbelievable! You've gotta try it! I ordered the chicken and it was juicy and very flavorful with peppers and a stewed sauce.

If you are looking for african cuisine try going to Lagos. While globe trotting through the big apple we wanted a new experience, Lagos was it. The food was great with the exception of the Goat...had to return it as it was over cooked, dry and lacked any gravy. The other items was nothing less than perfect. Unfortunately we were travelling and unable to take a to go bag. The service was excellent as well as the ambiance which reminded of us a neighborhood spot. We were seated quickly and as we went to our table I noted they had a full bar although limited variety of Bourbons. The location had both an upstairs and downstairs level.
