Then I waited for the doctor. and a man came looked at my x-rays and asked me what was bothering me. I told him I was coming in for my six month check up and I was a new patient. He looked at my x-rays and showed me where my crowns and fillings were which I already knew. Then he asked again if there was anything bothering me. And I said that I did have some swollen gums. I was afraid that my crown was going bad. He had me open my mouth and he looked at my gums, not my teeth , never looked at my teeth. then he stated that my gums between these two teeth. It looks red. The next thing he told me was, he was going to refer me to gum specialist and that I should get my teeth deep cleaned. Every other dentist appointment I have ever gone to. I have gotten my teeth cleaned. I asked if I was gonna be getting my teeth cleaned there he said no they have no dental hygienist. then I asked if I was going to get a referral for specialist and he said you'll get it before you leave. Go sit in the waiting room. That was my entire exam never looked at my teeth poked around with any I did not feel confident that he was even a dentist as I waited in the waiting room, finally the receptionist called me up and told me that I could go on a waiting list for a gum specialist that comes once a month to their place and I was gonna be charged $175 that I needed to pay. But I was looking for a place that carried my insurance. So I asked if the doctor was going to give me a referral so that my insurance will pay for it because many times you need a referral to go to a specialist and she said this is your referral I just said thank you and walked away. Never had an experience like that at a dentist office before.

On a previous appointment we had there, we walked in to a whole line of patients waiting to be checked in. Not only did the staff ignore the line, but they also seemed to not even prioritize the patients already at the location since every one of the staff was doing something else. Again, another proof of them not respecting patients and their time. I highly recommend you avoid Western Dental & Orthodontics. If you want to be respected and want a professional office, this is NOT the place to go to. Even if they are claiming that they will "internally" try to fix this issue, I do not see any progress with that. Honestly, I DO NOT think it will ever be resolved.
