This body shop gets 5 stars from me and if I could rate them higher I would. First of all they repaired the damage my car sustained in an accident and did excellent work and everyone that I spoke to in the shop were pleasant and professional. Fast forward to about 2 weeks later and my car is making this loud metal on metal banging sound and I cannot determine where it's coming from except that it is near the trunk area. I checked everything that I could and still the banging sound continued. I called the folks at Accurate Auto Body Carstar last night, explained the problem and asked if they would check it out to see if something came loose that they had repaired. They told me to bring it in this morning. The gentleman came out, took my car for a ride around the block then pulled it into their garage. He came out and explained that it was the heat shield (which by the way was on the opposite side of where they had done the initial repair). He said he would have his guys tighten the heat shield and the noise would be no more AND they didn't charge me anything for doing this even though the problem had nothing to do with the work they did previously. What a stand up place, I can't say enough great things about them. I am very impressed. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze and was unfortunate enough to get hit twice while the car was parked within a few months. The first time in the front drivers side corner and the second in the back. On one I was able to get the insurance info from the person the other was a hit and run so with two damaged areas I simply chose this place because it was close. What a change of luck! From beginning to end they made me feel comfortable and confident. It was a completely opposite experience compared to other auto repair shops I had been to. Ian was courteous patient well spoken informative non rushed attentive and kept me updated along the way. They contacted a rent a car co. for me arranged for the rental to be there when I arrived coordinated everything with the other persons insurance co. took care of the billing for me. For the damaged area not covered by insurance they were just as helpful and in simple language explained all parts that needed to be repaired or replaced gave me options worked with me finished on time and put my car back to as good as new. Their pricing came under what my long time mechanic quoted me. So overall I do not hesitate to give them a big thumbs up and can definitely recommend. read more

Some lady put a big ol' dent in my car. Her insurance agency recommended Carstar so I looked them up on Yelp and decided to take it there. I'm really weird about letting people in Chicago work on my car (I'm not from here).. I've had more than one place try to screw me out of hundreds of dollars.. but I'm so glad I went here. From getting an estimate to picking up my car the whole process was pretty hassle free. MY CAR LOOKS GREAT!! I expected it would take at least a week to get my car back but I dropped it off on Monday and by Thursday it was done. They cleaned it inside and out, too. I have two dogs and use to smoke in there and they were able to get all the dog hair and ash that gets stuck around the seat.. I've been trying to get that out for MONTHS. I'm so happy with the work they did and their customer service. Maggie was excellent. I also worked with another gentleman.. I didn't get his name but he was younger and with short dark hair, I think he was latino? I want to give him a shout out too! He was great too and answered all my annoying questions. I was in my first ever accident a few months ago, and had major front end damage to my car. After being yanked around by a shop that was literally three minutes down the street from me and refused to even give me an estimate for my repairs, my insurance agent recommended Accurate Auto Body CARSTAR, and I am so grateful that he did. From the get go, I felt so relieved. Maggie looked over my car THOROUGHLY, explained the entire time what she was doing/looking for, and walked me through the entire process of getting my car repaired. After I dropped my car off, Maggie and the front office team kept me updated on my repairs. They also have an online portal where you can track the stage your repairs are in and what it's costing. For how much damage I had and the parts they needed to order, my car was fixed in under three weeks. It looks and drives like it's brand new! I was super impressed. Exterior body work on my Honda Civic was done quickly and with complete cooperation with insurance company. At the same time some cleaning had even been done on the interior (why?) - and the crew left grease on the steering wheel. The next day I returned to ask them to clean it, which they did. At first they said it was normal wear, but they took it in anyway to see what they could do. 15 minutes later I pick up the car again. The grease is gone and the wheel looks good as new except.. I immediately find visible and significant damage on airbag emblem. CARSTAR refuses to replace/repair the emblem with no explanation. They tried to cover it up with some silver paint, which doesn't look good at all. Overall, seemingly great service, but will not take responsibility for accidental damage to interior. Always take pictures before and after car repairs, folks. read more

Absolutely amazing service. I dreaded the thought dealing with the insurance and getting my car properly fixed after I got rear ended at a stoplight. I knew my parents had gone to CarStar before, so it was the first place I called. I worked with Ian, who was super nice and answered all my questions and was able to work with the insurance to make sure everything went smoothly. The repair took 3 days, which was not a bad turn around time at all. When I got the car back, the bumper looked better then when I bought it, and they took the time to clean and vacuum my car, which was a great touch. Overall I had a fantastic experience there. If, God forbid, you get in an accident, I would 100% recommend that you go see Ian at CarStar. They make getting into an accident not suck. read more

Backed into a metal trashcan and dented my car about a year ago, got it priced at a reputable repair shop and could tell they were using me, let it go. Backed into a second metal trashcan and knocked out my tail light. Could not let this go. Went here and felt great about the people and their open and honest system. I dropped my car off in the morning and it was ready the exact same day for pickup for BOTH repairs. Highest level of service both with the auto repair and on the customer side of things.
