Just an add on to my other 1 star, been 2 years 3 months so far since I visited this horrendous place, they said fixed my problem, cool 30 minutes after I leave their shop the problem is there again. So after that they quote me for 3,400 a head gasket, I ask how they came to that conclusion. One of them chimes in "I mod my cars so I know what I'm doing." So I leave go to my main mechanic and 300 dollars later they change the oil filter housing. Now it's been 2 years and 3 months and my car runs fine. Don't get scammed by people like this read more

I am a woman who drives a lot which means I have encountered many a sleazy mechanic in my day. No more! I cannot stress how amazing accurate auto has been for me and my 06 honda. I had misgivings about my previous mechanic so a friend recommended this place and I will never look back. Saad explained everything that was wrong, actually showed me the engine and pointed out things that were in need of repair. Did not upsell me, pressure me or give me a load of horse $&!+. Not only did they give me original parts for my Lexus IS 250, they gave me a great bargain alongside solid workmanship. I was shopping around for a place to get my 300zx looked at, came across Accurate Auto Repair and was initially surprised by their price. The car is 25+ years old so not many mechanics feel comfortable working on it. I was very happy to see that Saad and Alex took on the challenge of doing the standard 60k timing belt maintenance on the car. They were very friendly and took the time with looking at every aspect of my car. At the end I was given a full report, which was beyond my expectation, and to my surprise no additional charges or sneaky repairs were added on. They prioritized the repair items and simply let me know what I did not need to be concerned with. Bottom line, truthful, friendly, attention to detail and competitively priced shop. I drove up to Chicago from Indy on a Friday for a concert. My master cylinder for my clutch failed as soon as I got to the hotel. I called Saturday morning and was able to tow my car in immediately for a diagnostic. They quickly got back with me saying what the issue was and that they would do their best to get it done that day. Come 3:40 (business closes at 3 on Saturdays), they were still working on it and unfortunately ran into some issues that they let me know of quickly. They were able to get my car fixed first thing Monday morning for me at a very fair cost. These guys went past their closing time to try to get my vehicle and others finished up! I've been going to Accurate since I moved to Des Plaines in the 90's. 100% trustworthy, reliable, and the service is amazing! Today, for example, my car wouldn't start. Battery. My fault...I left the interior light on for over a week, and it didn't help that it was subzero temps. I had to leave soon and called Accurate and they came to my house to jump start me within 10 minutes at no charge (they might not do this for everyone, but I live close by.) What a livesaver! UPDATE 9/7/22 - Mohammad is not only a great mechanic, but he is a wonderful human being! He goes over and above to help is customers, and stand behind his work. My mom's Integra was having a recurring issue with the check engine light, and Accurate had replaced a part to address it. The light would come back on, which means that the car will not pass emissions testing. On the second trip back, I left the car with him. My buddy went here for a brake job for the front and the back of his 2002 Toyota Avalon. They charged 900 dollars for a brake job. For a brake kit from rockauto.com for that car it would be 150 to 200 dollars. For the premium kit. Who knows what these guys put in. If they charge 200 for the brake kit where did the rest go. 700 in labor? That's a joke. That's almost 5 hrs in labor...from a dealership let alone a shop. It does not take 5 hrs for a brake job on an old Toyota. Realistically 2 hrs tops. Dont let these scum take your money. Do yourself a favor and shop for brakes to see what they cost on your car and ask around for shop hrs and book time for certain jobs. That is highway robbery. 700 in labor hours for brakes? I'm a tech I know it doesnt cost that much. read more

Don't let the full parking lot fool you, they are mostly finished work waiting to be picked up. With three bays and at least three technicians they can get your job done quickly and at a very reasonable price. I messaged via Yelp to get an estimate on routine repair, replacement of my serpentine belt after 78K miles. Sad was fast on the reply and gave me a good estimate. I confirmed that it would be fine to bring the car in the next morning. Dropped it off at open and rather than wait I just asked for a call when they were done. They had it ready after only two hours or so only because they were delivered an incorrect part. These guys are good. Sad even gave the car a once over and a coupon for a free wash. I have been driving by this shop for a few years now and have noted the increased number of cars on the lot. You can chalk that up to the quality work at reasonable price. read more

Accurate auto repair is one of the worst mechanic shops you can go to in Chicago. They have the worst customer service and are big time crooks. They will try to make you spend thousands of dollars on a $50 thing and the worse thing is that they have no remorse. In the past they have replaced my OEM headlight LEDs with cheap Chinese ones without my permission and charged me $400 for changing out 6 spark plugs which can easily be done for max $100 and when I went for a simple transmission fluid change they told me I had to repair pretty much everything in the car and tried pressuring me for $6000 which is ridiculous cause I know well that nothing else needed fixing. I can't imagine how many other naive gullible customers hey have scammed like this. Don't get me wrong the company is professional and so is the equipment and about 20 years ago they were legit and their customer service was real nice but as their business got bigger and they rose to the top they gave up basic customer service for higher revenue. The shop owner, Sakib Mohammed is the top crook. He will justify his employee's sly scamming behavior and will try to blame the issue on you. With one hand he will make you feel welcomed and with his other hand he will put in your pocket and take out as much as he can.
