Ordered a remanned 5.4l engine, from Accurate, on January 14th. Got it approximately a month later (we had to pick it up from the shipping company because their transfer company would only deliver to us if they had a full load coming to our area - we prepaid for liftgate service). This engine was for a customer so we needed it sooner, rather than later. Unpacked it only to find that Accurate had put the wrong cam on it. We contacted Lanny, the owner at accurate, and he told us to invoice him for swapping the cam off of the core engine to the remanned engine, which we did. The core engine was shipped back to Accurate and received by them on March 26th (we had to deliver it to the shipper for the same reason as stated above - again we prepaid for liftgate service). Between March 26th and April 28th we were calling and sending texts and emails, to Accurate asking for the status of our core refund, liftgate refunds, and payment of our invoice. On April 28th Miranda emailed us (evidently Brittany had been "let go."). She said that a credit memo had been issued to us on March 29 and wanted to know if we had received the refund. We had not received it. I sent her a reply to ask if the refund included all of the items we were owed money for.... $350 for the core, $25 for the pallet return, $250 for the cam swap, and $150 for the liftgate charges that we did not utilize, as we picked up from, and dropped off the engine, at the Diversified Transer and Service Warehouse. So we should have gotten a total of $775. To date I have received no further communication from Accurate Engines, despite several phone calls (no one answers and voicemail boxes are full), texts that are never read, and emails that go unanswered. As far as we know, the engine that we put in the customer's vehicle is still running. We've had no complaints to the contrary. We shall see if that changes in the next few months. We ordered a 7.3l diesel engine from Accurate in 2023 that was dropped off of a shippers truck and broken, so we had to wait for a replacement. That engine order, engine replacement, core return, and refund process went pretty smoothly aside from the extra wait time getting the replacement engine. At this point we are not hopeful that we will ever see our refund, but you can be sure that we will never order another engine from Accurate Engines, and we would advise others to avoid them, as well. read more

It had timing wrong, wrong gasket set, bent valves, no compression. picked up my core and the bad engine, then sent the same engine back still with bent valves. DO NOT give this company any money. Invoice 62648 Purchased engine, Accurate Engine delivered an engine that did not work. Lasted 600 miles then quit. My mechanic checked engine and lots of shavings in oil. Accurate asked for engine back and then sent another engine, this engine lasted for 18 miles. Had to pull that engine and send back to them. Told I would receive a refund over a year ago. Now crickets! Keep in mind that they have my core, I paid my mechanic for all the work, and I had to buy another engine, from different company and have it installed. Total money out is over $12k. Accurate Engines is not a good company and will keep your money. No number of emails, texts or phone calls matter, they will not respond and or will delay. Don't do business with this company. Bought a 2.4L engine for them and that part went great. The 1st issue was with the core. Them saying it had a cracked block which was not true. Asked for pictures and they said the would send them and never did. Now 15,000 miles with this engine it is blow up with no response from the company in a weeks' time. Filled out required form. The number provided has a mailbox that is full. Called the sales team given another number left a message. 72 hours went by no response. Absolutely horrible service. read more

I had high hopes with Accurate Engines but this has been one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. After paying thousands for a "remanufactured" engine, I was only told afterward that my $1,000 core refund would take 2-3 months. The engine itself was misrepresented, with one new head and one obviously used and spray-painted head, and spark plug threads that didn't even match between banks--one side had oversized helicoils where plugs spun freely. It's now been 6 months and I still haven't received my $1,000 core refund. Calls go unanswered, voicemail is always full, and the only texts I get are from "Britney" saying "I'll move you up," which has been repeated for months with no results. This isn't just bad customer service, it's dishonest business. I'm now pursuing small claims court just to recover what's owed, and I'd strongly warn anyone to avoid this company. All I want is honest business, please send me my money back and I'de be willing to delete this review. read more

I dont even know where to begin... what a story. Ive never seen such piss poor business practice in my life. My friend dropped his van off to have a brand new engine installed, seemed like a bargain at first with a warranty and all. accurate engines removed the engine from their van then informed them that it was an extra 2000 dollars for the warranty plus they had to buy all new components and sensors for the warranty plus labor to install them on the new engine. Now stuck between a rock and a hard place they agreed to it and the engine was installed. they picked up the van and their was a huge scratch down the side of it that obviously was nobodies fault. on the way home the transmission was acting up, so they brought it back and was told that the torque converter was going out and they needed to replace the transmission (i suspect it wasn't seated right when they reinstalled the engine). so another 4000 dollars for a new transmission from a different shop and the van is back home. the next day the engine light comes on and they bring it back the van was throwing a code for the thermostat, so they replaced it and claimed it wasn't covered under the warranty and charged them for it. while there somebody shut the hood on something and bent the hinge, but they refused responsibility for that just like the scratch. the next day, the same code popped up so they brought it back again, so without any approval they changed the thermostat for a third time and the water pump and charged them another 700 dollars for it, even though they had to have the thermostat and water pump replaced when the engine was new yet again was not covered under the 2000 dollar warranty. Same code popped up again so they called the shop and were told its an electrical problem and not to bring it back to them, they wont fix it. They called me and i went to look at it, within 10 minutes we confirmed that it needed a coolant temp sensor. While there they told me it was having a hard time starting sometimes, to which we discovered that they never synced the throttle body after reinstalling it. over 10k into a van that the quote started out at 5k with a warranty that apparently covers nothing. don't waste your time with this company, they are a joke. read more

Next they sell you a partial short block for a completed long block price. No heads, no gaskets, no oil pump, no lifters, the block is not remanufactured, the block screw holes are not cleaned and rethreaded as they are when rebuilt. its like they shot paint on it and shipped it. Do not believe their lies! Update: the ford dealership that installed for me got my truck started, once it warmed up, the freezeplugs started pouring antifreeze out. My son researched engines and found this web site and called and talked to Tony while I was getting a truck back from Utah with a bad engine. I then contacted Tony at accurate engines multiple times asking questions and printed info from accurate eng web site. Leading to putting required $2,000 dep on 11/04/2024 and truck vin number for engine specs request arp stud up date with engine build and agreed to $500 upgrade charge. They requested payment for the engine before shipping which I paid 11/12/2024. Engine was finally delivered to J C Automotive for installation on 11/18/2024. When J C auto went to install injectors they couldn't do it because the different length studs were installed in the wrong locations. We contacted them and took multiple days for accurate to contact JC and authorize fixing this problem. After repairing and installing the motor and starting it never left the shop because of excessive crankcase pressure which also caused rear main oil seal leak. JC videoed pressure blowing out oil fill cap and sent it to accurate. JC finally got authorization to remove and strip the engine back and shipped to them 12/18/2024. Brintany finally called me 12/30/2024 and said they were going to check it tomorrow and will let me know what's wrong. They only agreed to pay for half of the labor for JC to remove the engine and ship it to them and reassemble and install when returned. They have yet to send me the like new remanufactured engine they advertised to me in advertised and contracted condition why should i have to pay to remove and disassemble then reassemble and reinstall a engine that was remanufactured like new when it has never left the shop and should be runnable. I Have paid those charges already to Jcs and should not have to do it again. It would be a breach of contract to supply remanufactured "like new engine" . I had to borrow money to pay for all of this which I have done after more than 2 months and time. I still don't have my motor. and this is how I make my living now making payments but no truck to generate income and have had to make 2 payments to the bank already. I have emails, text and documentations for all of the above. I have been completely transparent with both accurate engines and Jc auto shop in Monroe city missouri. I feel as if Accurate Engines should cover the costs and responsibility of the disassembly and shipping to fix the original engine, the fact that the engine that was delivered and installed the first time was not "like new" and in running order with no fault to myself of Jc's auto shop which I have hired to install the engine. Install the Accurate in September in the engine blue smoke from day one of initial start. I've got 7,000 miles on the engine and the smoke had never stopped. Send it into a shop to have inspected and a lot of the internal parts had never been replaced. Seals were leaking and oil was getting in to the spark plugs and filing them out. I would not recommend accurate engines to absolutely anybody and I would never buy their junk again. The only parts that got replaced was the parts that you could see on first visual and that was it. My engine was sent back to them on a warranty repair from a previous rebuild, 11 months ago. The Co. refuse to talk to the Better Business Bureau after telling them to tell me to send my motor back & how to do so, & Lied to the Consumer Protection Agency stating" they had my car and removed the engine fixed the problem reinstalled the engine informed me that the situation was resolved and for me to pick my vehicle up "!!? Are extremely disappointing experience with this company. We are an official Ford dealer that purchased an engine from them based on their supposedly great reputation. The engine was defective, Accurate authorized us to tear down and then eventually send it back. Months later, they still haven't refunded the core charge, which was on their credit memo to us, and the labor cost, which they authorized. This is no way to run a business. Purchased an engine for resale 07/2023. End of August/2023 customer complained the engine was running rough. Diagnostics showed #6 cyl misfire and low compression. Warranty claim was started. Replaced #6 lifter. engine runs fine. The company rarely answers the warranty line and the voicemail is almost always full. There have been at least 18 emails back and forth on this issue. most of them are unanswered. on 9/7/2023 They resubmit the claim. 10/31 I ask for an update and they resubmit the claim. On 11/08 I called and spoke to Ron about receiving core credits as well as following up on the warranty claim. He asked me to email Steve and copy him. so a new thread was started. I emailed on 11/15 and 11/29 about the claim and refunds, no response. 1/02/2024 I received an email from George stating the issues were just brought to his attention. On 1/10 I received the refunds for the core credits from July 2023. I emailed and thanked him then inquired about the warranty claim again. no response. emailed again on 1/25 and got an answer back on 2/2 saying it was resubmitted. emailed again on 2/9 and 2/12 with no response. Look out for these guys. I ended up with one of their bad engines while doing business with Powertrains Direct. I wish I could have checked their BBB profile, but didn't realize that the engine wasn't coming directly from Powertrains Direct... these companies may be owned by the same person or group, but I don't know for sure. I had a very similar experience to the one Roberto did. I purchased an engine from them and it began to overheat as soon as we started to drive it. A diagnosis determined that there were combustion gasses in the cooling system. This is an indication that either the head is cracked or the head gasket has failed. In either case, doing a repair doesn't require removing the engine. Accurate Engines is insisting that we remove the engine and ship it to them in order to decide if they are going to honor the warranty. They have set it up in such a way that it costs more to collect on the warranty then it does to just fix it yourself. Their BBB profile (29 complaints open and 100% negative reviews) tells me that I can't trust them to do the right thing, even if I do ship the engine to them at my own expense. I called Accurate Engine's and spoke to Allan. I asked some engine building specific info and it sounded like they knew their specs well. So I purchased an engine and not even 2000 miles later, the engine developed a misfire and yielded poor mileage. I had multiple ASE certified techs run diagnostic testing and the engine was showing low compression on multiple cylinders. This points to a "remanufacturing" process issue... Long story short, they want you to foot the bill to pull the engine, send it to them for an internal diagnostic so they can formulate a plan on declining coverage. I was on the phone attempting to file a warranty claim and they were already talking about it possibly overheating!!! Wow!!! I am a Mechanical Engineer and I watched the ASE tech install this engine using brand new MOPAR parts. (ie: water pump, radiator, etc) the job was done right. Once Accurate has your money and something happens, all of a sudden it gets very difficult to get ahold of them and the downtime on the daily driver drags on. This is a senior citizen's only mode of transportation! So now they want me to spend another $500 to have it pulled and ship it back? I don't think this is reasonable. They should accept the report of 3 ASE techs and prorate the purchase price against the repair bill. According to them, "many people may have chosen" this business, but you have to ask yourself, how many of those customers got burned by them? Take your hard-earned money and stay away from this business!!! People will catch on! read more

Lanny is an irresponsible character. He came off as very knowledgeable about our specific needs. I had sent a Chrysler engine to him to rebuild that was specific to a fork lift. The mounts and cylinder head bolt patterns on the engine sent back were completely different and none of the fork lift accessories would bolt up. Next thing he wanted us to do was send the new engine back along with our pull to rebuilt that specific engine. Two weeks lost!! Engine came back rebuilt with a new cylinder head. All the fork lift specific mounts were missing after the block was rebuilt. It took several weeks of Lanny sending one piece at a time by UPS. 3 more weeks wasted. They should of thrown all our accessories in a box and sent them back, but the mechanics threw everything in their "junk bin" and had to fish through it to send us our parts back. Finally get the engine installed and after being back at the customer, it starts pouring oil smoke after 2 days. Removing this engine again, to fix it again is about a 25 hour process removing all the hydraulic accessories bolted to the motor and removing the external back end of the fork lift. Lanny sounded knowledgeable at the beginning, but I would never consider Accurate Engines again!!!!! read more

Years ago these guys rebuilt a motor in my Cutlass. Less than 500 miles and the head gasket blew and almost stranded us in the middle of nowhere in winter with two kids in the back. They never did fix it right after bringing it back several times and when I checked into suing them, I was told to take a number and good luck. Can't believe they are still in business. We had nothing but trouble with Accurate Engines. The ONLY time they were responsive was when we were ordering from them, and they wanted the money. After that - nothing. Once we figured out they weren't going to come through for us, we canceled our order. They would never respond or acknowledge that we canceled our order even though we emailed, called AND texted Ron in sales and the admin. Tony (an independent contractor who worked for them) told us he put in the paperwork to cancel the order, and to contact Brittney to confirm. She would never answer the phone! Then they wanted to charge 10% to refund our money, not mentioning that fact until AFTER we got the invoice and paid it. They wanted to keep 10%, even though they had done NOTHING! We canceled our order because they were not communicating with us. Then, a month later, they unexpectedly, with no tracking or email notification, sent a transmission to a shop. I purchased a NorthStar engine from these clowns about 5 years ago. Because it's an expensive engine and difficult to repair I've also purchased the annual warranties after the first 3-year warranty expired. Recently, my mechanic asked me when the last time the cam sensor was replaced on the vehicle. I thought it must have been when we installed the new Accurate Engines engine, but I didn't know the vehicle's mileage when that occurred so I contacted Accurate Engines with a very simple question: What was the mileage when the new engine was installed and warrantied? Since the engine is warrantied for a maximum of 100,000 miles, in order to honor the original warranty, and to honestly offer the annual extended warranty, they must have a record of the vehicle's mileage at the time the engine was installed. Accordingly, I called Accurate Engines and spoke to someone who said his name was "Nick" and claimed to be the general manager. In talking with Nick it immediately became clear why there have been so many complaints about this business. He was incredibly rude, condescending, and immensely unhelpful. How this guy could be the general manager of anything more than a turnip farm is beyond me [my apologies to those of you who earn an HONEST living growing turnips]. In any event, Nick said that he didn't have a record of the mileage on my vehicle when the engine was purchased. How, then, I asked, could he/Accurate Engines ever determine if I had put more than 100,000 miles on the engine! Nick said he wouldn't be able to make that determination and any extended warranty that I've purchased would be voided. So, essentially, Accurate Engines has induced me, falsely, on at least 2 occasions, to purchase a warranty that they had no intention of honoring. I can tell you (and I told Nick) that from a legal perspective this is the very definition of consumer fraud. So, at that point I asked Nick for the name of the owner of Accuate Engines. He refused to provide it and hung up the phone. It is now clear to me why Accurate Engines has the appalling BBB rating/complaint profile recorded by another unhappy customer in a previous YELP review. I have had a terrible experience with Accurate Engines. I sent them my Terminator block Cobra motor for a rebuild, with a known cylinder crack in #1. They told me they had tested block integrity with 2 different tests, and that all was fine. Accurate sent me my motor back, still blowing white smoke, and still had a crack in #1 cylinder. Not only that, but that had stripped the cam cap bolts, installed normal washers instead of cam spacers, and the oil pump had scoring on the vanes. Accurate told me I had to remove the engine and send my engine back to them at my expense for removal and shipping, for their evaluation. I refused - there is no way I want this shop opening up my motor again, especially after seeing all the issues that they caused in addition to not fixing the problem. They also never sent me my own parts back, despite it being clearly in their policy and I requested the parts prior to shipping them my motor. Lanny offered me a $1,000.00 credit out of the original $3,246.00, which I found to be unacceptable since they a) didn't repair the problem, b) caused additional damage. I attempted to negotiate with Lanny, but now the company is no longer returning my calls or emails, and I've been told that the money they had originally offered me is no longer available. If I want a refund, I have to "return" my motor to them for a credit. This makes no sense to me - the motor is my motor, which was sent to them for a rebuild. Lanny, if you would like to step up and do the right thing, please contact me, you have my email and phone information. I would like to resolve this amicably, however I don't believe that a $1,000.00 credit is near enough due to the reasons above. I only give them one star because there isn't an option for zero!!! Bought a HEMI engine and had it installed at a great local mechanic. Well, less than a year later, the engine blows, no worries Accurate Engines have a warranty. LOL, well, I thought so. I had to arrange for the engine to get freighted back to Accurate, I had to arrange for the engine to get freighted back to me, I had the truck in the shop with no engine for 6 weeks while I waited on accurate, all the while paying for a rental. They said it was coming but they lied, as I found out was pretty normal for them. After about 8000 dollars of labor, rental car fees, and freight, they reimbursed me a whopping 900 bucks. Yeah, I can't tell you enough how you need to stay away from these people. I called the BBB, I even called the local press to look into it. The absolute worst company I ever did business with. I went through 2 engines in less than a year. I spent 6000.00 between shipping 2x and installations. Larry Hassel will not return or answer calls. I told him I needed a good engine and they guaranteed they had no problems and redesigned the 4.7 dodge engine. I also yold him I had limited funds and PLEASE I need something dependable. The first engine went in 7 months. Sent back and when able to install the second (due to money) it lasted 7 weeks. I am a lung cancer patient with oxygen and broke down in extreme heat without my oxygen unit as I was going on a short run. I have been sick ever since as stress is not something good for me. I told Accurate my condition when I purchased the first engine. These people are crooks !!!!! they do not return calls and I advise everyone to steer clear. Go the extra mile and get Jasper. I spent more with accurate than Jaspers engine would have cost . Stay away, call the Attorney General of Grand Rapids. I have heard nothing but horror stories on this company, God Bless & good luck. To anyone considering doing business with Accurate Engines...BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a Chrysler 300 engine block from Accurate in late November 2013. The transaction went pretty smooth but later discovered an overcharge on my credit card. Billing errors happen, and no big problem, but it was very irritating having to repeatedly ask Accurate correct their billing mistake. The company eventually credited back funds after several emails a month later. Besides the initial invoice issues, I was overall pretty satisfied with Accurate. The replacement engine was installed early 2014 after replacing most engine components for new factory parts. It was a perfect opportunity to do so with the block removed. The engine worked perfectly right up until the engine blew (without warning) on a hot August day. No way! Less than eight months engine life out of a $3100.00 rebuilt Accurate Engine, and not including a hefty bill from my local mechanic's labor. What a major inconvenience. I was furious but later calmed after hearing my mechanic determined the engine blew as a result of internal piston issues. Great! All vehicle maintenance intervals were met, mechanics found no issues with engine components on regularly scheduled maintenance inspections or at the time of failure, it would obviously appear as simply a bad motor covered under Accurate's engine warranty policy for sales under a year...right? WRONG! After notifying Accurate and returning the motor, the warranty department quickly pointed out warranty exclusions to any heat damage to their engines. I explained the mechanic shop had found no evidence of cooling system malfunctions or failures related to primary engine failure itself. The mechanic who initially installed the engine, along with shop owner, both specifically stated, "engine failure had resulted from an internal piston malfunction causing catastrophic damage under normal operating conditions and no warning indicators had registered on the vehicle computer log prior to engine failure." Accurate acknowledged the circumstances of failure and would advise to full extent of cause after gathering more info during tear down. I waited weeks for Accurate to inspect the motor and provide ANY status to my claim. After sending more emails, pleading for some kind of status update, I was finally told an update would be made available the following day...the day, nothing. Another week passes with no communication whatsoever. At this point I had enough! Accurate failed in providing any clarification as to the status of the warranty or show any good faith business intent. I made several attempts to respectfully request any form of information. I finally lost patience and emailed Accurate advising them if I didn't hear from someone by close of business I would pursue the matter legally. Accurate responds with: "OK, looks with everything that needs to be replaced the cost for correction will be 800+300 (shipping) = 1100.00. Do you want them to proceed to correct? UNBELIEVABLE!
