Got a 5 year warranty for my car; got the best quote from any other company (maybe that should have been a sign). The first time my car had an issue, it had to be towed bc it wouldn't turn on. Had the car dealer contact ACE with no response. After a few days, the shop asked me to call thinking they would answer my calls but they didn't. Multiple calls, messages, no answer. After two weeks (while I had to rent a car to get to work) they said the claim was denied. The issue was not the denial, but that it took them 2 weeks to answer. I could've had my car worked on and pay out of pocket sooner and save myself at least a week worth of rentals. When I called to cancel, they did it immediately however, they failed to mention that cancelling and getting a refund are two separate processes. You can buy the policy over the phone and online, but to cancel you need a notarized affidavit requesting a prorated refund. It was thousands of dollars so I went through the process, paid for a notary, sent everything with tracking number and one year later, still no refund. Save your money and your sanity, don't work with this company. Tried leaving a negative review on the BBB but they are not part of that so best I can do is warn people on Yelp. read more

Once I pointed this out to him (on the invoice), he became irate. When I asked him to honor and correct the work he had already performed, he told me he was "too busy" to address the issue and then rudely stated I would have to pay additional money to do a diagnostic. Why should I pay for an additional diagnostic when you just told me it was the same problem you claimed to repair? Had a new fuel pump put into my car. This was my first time at Ace Auto and working with Frank, referred by a long-time friend. I had a great experience. Frank was super nice and friendly, prompt with letting me know his diagnostic - which was spot on. The repair was a fair price, and honestly a bit better than I had anticipated or gotten from other shops. It's always a pleasure having my car and truck repaired here. First off, with just a call they will pick up my vehicle from my job. This helps out a lot because even though I work in the lot across the street from them, I start work very early and if I took them my car on my lunch break, they would not have enough time to do most of the work I need done. I had them do my truck's 2 front control arms and ball joints, shocks all around, back brakes and a major tune up. Due to the fact that I get off work so early, we decided that they will pick up my car each morning and do the work little by little so I would not be without my truck. Unprofessional, underqualified, and crooks! My hub and wheel bearings needed to be replaced. They only switched out the wheel bearings and just drilled holes randomly on the hub to keep it from making noise. I found this out after a few months when the noise reappeared. They probably thought I didn't understand cars to jack up prices and argue that the wheel bearings only lasted a few months. What?! I said no. Worst service, reoccuring problem... are they even qualified? Save your money and troubles, find another place. read more

I've been coming here for about 6 months or so. I first heard of this place when I had to replace one of my mirrors after hitting a pole while parking =/. Jim was very helpful and reasonable with prices. He even let me borrow a car while the repair was being done since I needed to take care of something. I've gotten my oil changed here various times and has my brakes recently replaced. Currently they are repairing my car and doing the body work on it which I am a little nervous about because it seems like they outsource the paint job (maybe other things within the body work arena) to another place. I've been going to Jim for over 15 years. He has always been honest whether to his benefit or not. He has shown a strong ability to fix all sorts of problems that can be quite different. He has fixed engines on three different cars for my family. Why four stars instead of five? Every now and then, his mechanics miss a detail. Last time, his mechanics cut the line to the window washer fluid and didn't catch it. Other than that, he is always been very willing to fix problems and if something gets missed, which rarely happens, he has taken care of it in a timely manner and at no charge. read more

Evidently, my catalytic converter was cut out of my car on the street while I was sleeping. I didn't even know what a catalytic converter WAS until I went to Ace. After seeing stellar reviews on Yelp about Ace, I called them and described how my car suddenly sounded like a Harley Davidson had been put in it. They suspected it was a stolen catalytic converter and suggested I swing by. A guy jumped under my car, snapped some photos of my undercarriage, and then showed me a car on the rack for comparison. He made sure that I was completely educated about what had happened, WHY people even steal them in the first place, and walked me through the process of having my car fixed ASAP. ive had every kind of used car from the family handmedown clunker to the classic show winner so to say that im a mechanic snob is probably being kind when someone i knew told me about jimmy (the owner) i was like 'yeah right...' but he couldnt stop gushing i was in the midst of looking around for a honda fit and my friend kept insisting that jimmy would set me straight on all the potential candidates as it turned out becuase of the situation i never did go to jimmy but i did end up buying a honda fit and within a week of purchase the brakes had this horrible grinding noise so i figured id take it jimmy i ended up stopping off at this other garage first because i found it on yelp and people had given it great reviews the owner said it was nothing and just to not worry about now i dont need to know a lot about cars to know that brakes should not sound like that so i went and found jimmy jimmy didnt actually do the work cuase hes busy running the shop but his guys within 5 mins showed me the problem and it was really obvious and had to ABSOLUTELY be fixed (it was unsafe otherwise) since then ive taken the honda over to them for all issues every single time the guys are always courteous smart and capable they love it if you take an interest in the maintenance of your vehicle they dont mind it if you dont prices are fair work is always great read more

This is a great place for auto repairs. Miguel is a great guy, very personable and seems honest. I told him i had to wait while he did the oil change, and he said he'll do it in 30 mins. That means he worked on my car right away. Frank was also a nice guy. They didn't try to sell me a service that my car did not need. The guy at firestone said i had to wait 2 hrs. The price is also reasonable and they used original honda parts for my wife's car. I also bring my Mazda cx-7 to this place. Overall, i just didn't feel like i had to be on the defensive stance when dealing with these guys, unlike the feeling you have when you go to a dealership, or jiffy lube where you have to be on your guard knowing that they might sell you services that you do not really need. read more

I had a terrible experience with these guys. i went in for an oil change. i just asked for an oil change (which they tried to overcharge me for). instead, the mechanic seemed to be checking the car out, but he was pounding the various parts with some kind of hammer!. i didn't realize it at the time, but he messed up my car!!! the car was fine when i brought it in, but the next morning, my fuel pump went out and i had to have the car towed and repaired. in addition, when the mechanic was 'checking it out' he told me that i needed new motor mounts and it would cost $400. when i took it to a different mechanic the next day, they said that it wasn't really necessary, and i would only need 1, not 4 and it would only cost $40. these guys are bad news. read more

To begin prices are most fair,got my brake service for $135 everywhere else $260 at least, all kind of stories about new Rotors being needed. I called at about 10:30 am and spoke to a gentleman named Miguel, he made sure I knew that I was able to come in during my lunch break and would be out on time to return to work. Everything went very smooth. I arrived at about 12:35pm, parked my car walked over to the Wells Fargo across the street and returned to wait for about another 10 minutes. I paid exactly what I was quoted over the phone and was on my way back to work at 12:50pm. So I was planning on getting my (much delayed) maintenance on my Prius. And on my way there, my car started getting this horrible chemical-smell, especially when I accelerated. Let me tell you, that shit's terrifying when you're on the freeway and are like "AHHHHHHH I DON'T WANT TO DIE." When I showed up, they seemed to already have their hands full with people "who must have their car back in 1 hour" and other demands, and I'm like "great, I'm driving a rental the rest of the week." I dropped off my car, and literally two hours later they told me that my car battery had MELTED and that's why I was smelling that foul smell. THEN they fixed it that same day, and for a very very reasonable price (most of the cost was just for the battery replacement).
