Complete waste of my time and money. My car stalled so I towed my '98 CR-V there. So they ended up charging me a $100 diagnosis, could not fix it and gave me an $1800 quote for PCM, Distributor and Wire Harness and they didn't even guaranteed that my car would run ok after spending all that money. And turns out that was not even a completely accurate diagnosis! Went to another place and they not only wouldn't charge a me a cent for diagnosis in case they couldn't fix it, it was only the distributor and spark plug ignition wires, got charged only $810 w/ labor included and a guaranteed fix. I would've had paid a thousand dollars more and for stuff I didn't even need! If I knew I wouldn't have taken it there in the first place, I would have my car and $200 I spent on tow and diagnosis. That's my experience, would not recommend. read more

I had a screw in my Tire and was heading over to American Tire when I saw Zito's Auto Care and remembered that my son in law and step father rave about Zito's honest work. So I stopped in and asked if a mechanic could take a look at my tire. The young woman welcomed me warmly and quickly called Taylor ( mechanic) over to take a look at my tire. He not only patched up my tire for $25 but also filled up my other tires with air. I was in and out in 10 minutes. So appreciate their honesty and great customer service. Can't recommend them enough. I always take my car here! I've been going here for a couple of years and anytime the car is making a noise or it stops working, I take it in (after a little while) and they fix it at such a good rate. They're never judge me if my car is a mess and they never make me feel like they're talking down to me. And as a young woman that doesn't know anything about cars, I feel so comfortable bringing them my car. They won't push fixes on you, they'll tell you what's wrong, fix it and then mention they left some notes on the paperwork and in the box they'll have a suggested maintenance repair. The first time I took my car there, I had to get it towed and I was super anxious it was gonna cost gonna cost an arm and a leg but it was less than $90 for the fix and was fixed that same day. They're such a great shop! read more

Lose the uptight attitude.... Possible new customer here trying to get a quote on an oil change. Called the shop and asked. To my surprise, hearing $110 shocked me (driving an 09 Camry. Synthetic oil requested). The gentleman, basically being a sarcastic smart A$$, goes ".....well you asked!" Alright man, $110 for an oil change that sounds steep to the average person. The condescending attitude displayed by the was unnecessary. Usually calling mechanics for quotes, they're chill and would be happy to assist potential customers. At least wait until, I'm off the phone to be like that.... One should not have to endure such discourteous treatment when seeking service for their vehicle. I wouldn't take my business there for any auto work now. read more

I would like to recommend Zittos Auto Care for anyone who owns & maintains a vehicle! We have taken many cars here over the years but we have recently had quite a few problems with our older vehicles. So the only reason this auto care shop has the stars they have are because of Tony Bigham. Tony is no longer there. The last time I went to see Tony an employee told me he had retired to take care of his grandchildren which was a complete lie. All you had to say is he doesn't work there not lie. Tony ("the owner") came out and listened to my car and told me the likely problem before charging me a cent. Being in a time crunch, he went far beyond what I expected any mechanic to do to help me get the car back in the road quickly and he was well within the price range I expected. Yep, writing my 500th on a bloody car repair shop. Why? The 6 things I most dread dealing with in life; IRS Jury duty Colonoscopy Root canal Shopping Mechanics I usually luck out with number 6 as one of my neighbors is a former mechanic, and takes care of my car at a discount. I have to buy pizza and beer afterward, but still save $ and know it is being done right. He had mentioned before that Zito's just up the street from us was an honest organization and had been there for several years. Well low and behold I get pulled over by the Irvine PD after our office Christmas Party. Believe it or not, I kept the imbibing to a minimum as I respect that the City of Irvine is a police state so they can keep their safest city image intact. And me with my burned out license plate light was a definite threat to that image. I lucked out and my encounter with Irvine's finest was almost pleasant. Not getting hauled to jail makes for a pleasant experience every time. Officer Gregarious put me through the fluttering eye test for more than a few minutes, which I evidently passed. Sent me on my way without even a fix it ticket. Thanks OG! Being the lazy lame-ass that I am it still took me a couple of weeks to address the problem, as I had not seen my neighbor around. I even crawled under my car to see if I could butch up and handle the task myself. Faak, I couldn't even tell what kind of bolts they were. Damn old eyes! Its a drizzly morning so I give up and pull into Zitos around 10:10 am on a Saturday. I have my newspaper and smart phone all charged up in case I will be held hostage in Auto Shop Hell for awhile. I barely get out of the car and a grizzled gent meets me with a semi-friendly greeting. He tells me to pull my car into one of the empty bays. What? No lengthy paperwork first? Nope, he summons his young helper (I guess this to me impossible task was beneath him) to assist. In my defense YH did have to struggle for several minutes to extract the lighting unit. Task completed, I am instructed to go into the office to pay. I was figuring on at least $20 for labor and part. The owner (assuming) consults with the GG and looks back at me. Looks back at GG, then back at me. He then blurts, with a questioning tone: "$10 bucks OK?" Heck yeah! I even tipped YH a few bucks as I was elated with the ease at which this went down. I have a feeling if I was a regular customer he wouldn't have charged me anything. Yep, in at 10:10, and firing up The Stang 15 minutes later. Anyone have a gastroentologist for a neighbor that likes pizza and beer? I need a colonoscopy this year. Just asking............. read more

I will never go anywhere else as long as they (or Tony) can service my car! This morning I had an appointment for an oil change and smog test. I arrived on time, and before I knew it, my car was already on the rack. As promised, Tony got me right in and out, unlike other places where appointments are ignored. Sal is the man. As mentioned in the other review, Sal is just as likely yto say "Hey, you don't need new brakes yet" as he is to say "I need to replace your timung belt." He and his staff are friendly, prompt, and dedicated to customer service. It's not the most attractive place, and it dies look like an old defunct gas staton because that's exactly what it is. I feel better bringing the old Accord here than I do to any other shop, and Sal has never let me down. Five or so years ago I ran over a nail and when I came to Sal's he stopped what he was doing, spent 10 minutes removing the nail and patching the tire, and didn't charge me anything. In retrospect, I should have brought him a pizza or something... read more
