This place is the worst and extremely unprofessional. They decided not to cash my check because I had endorsed it prior to arriving. How the hell does that make any sense but then even after Kate or Katy verified it was a valid check with the person that wrote the it she wrote all over the back of my check and now nowhere else will take it. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Customer Service, the one employee working today was absolutely the rudest and meanest person not only to me but everyone even in line. Yelling and threatening customers because she had to deal with us on her own. Even when I arrived to simply cash a check, the doors were locked tight, I had to bang on the door to get her attention cause 4 people were outside with me. I had to get in line 4 times before getting what I needed cause she was pushing everyone out so she didn't have to deal with us. I never got what I needed and will never go back. Ive been going there for years to cash checks and was always out quick but I had to get back in line multiple times. Im not doing that again. Idk who was working today but you hired the wrong person to work there. I never leave alot of reviews but I know corporate reads these and hope you change what's going on there. The staff here is filled with some snooty suspicious characters. I came in because I was a little short on rent and I hate borrowing money from other people. The clerk helping me was pleasant, I don't know if she was new or if my situation was just so "unusual" that she needed to consult her coworkers. I work for a major transportation app. However all of my paychecks come through a third party staffing agency. I knew there were going to be problems when I was asked if I did a W-9 form for my taxes. ...obviously I don't because if the staff paid more attention they would see that taxes are taken out of each of my paychecks. I heard more mumbled questions about needing to verify my employer, wondering if I was full time or not. Again. All things that were on my detailed 7 paycheck stubs that I brought in with me and had printed out. They weren't sloppy at all. They were clear. I work 35-40 hours a week which is considered full time. But for some reason I suppose reading comprehension isn't this company's strong suit. I heard, what I can only assume was the manager, mumble that since I worked for "a start up" she needed to be more careful. "I approved one of those start ups for a payday loan a few weeks ago for someone...but but you're gonna need her taxes." I was informed that I could not be approved because my paychecks weren't consistent. This made absolutely no sense. I get paid weekly. They verified the company that I worked for by calling them on the phone in front of me. AND the "manager" admitted that she approved a payday loan! Finally, the company I work for is an internationally renowned app. EVERYONE knows who they are. They might be new but they are in no way, shape, or form a start up sweetie. The fact that they wanted 2 years worth of W-2s was the final straw. To prove what? That I'm not a fraudster? What sort or ridiculous policies?! Drawing blood and pulling a tooth is apparently easier than getting a measly $150 loan from these morons. I hate to play the 'race' card...but I honestly do feel like there was some judgements made. I have been to payday advancement places before...WITH my new job...and never have I experienced such terrible service from the company itself. Ironically enough. I went home. This is the best check cashing store in the whole Bay Area. Usually, when I go in here, a sweet girl by the name of Earica helps me. She is always so pleasant to talk to, in a good mood, and has something nice to say to me EVERY TIME I come in. I look forward to going in to this establishment to get my money orders now. I don't know about other locations but this location on San Pablo has been taken over by a new company, as of November 2019. Check-cashing places and payday loans are generally to be avoided but the ladies who used to work at this Ace were really nice. They have all been replaced by new workers and by a manager who has a very harsh way of speaking. No pleases or thank yous and just overall rudeness. When you're paying so much for financial services, the least they can do is to speak gently and respectfully to you. read more

I went in to add funds to a Net Spend card, and I was 32 cents shy of their $3.95 fee to add any amount of cash. I told them I would need to come back later with the rest. It wasn't until I went in the next day that I realized that the lady that i was working with forgot to give me back my $20. When I mentioned it at the window, they looked at me like I was crazy. Went through the online process of giving away all my personal info just to have to call and speak with a representative (Marla), who hung up in my face after a three way call to my bank while I tried to explain to her that I need another option to verify how I deposit my checks since i get paid as an independent contractor and not from a payroll. What a waste of time after giving away my whole identity! I would recommend finding a better payday loan establishment and would definitely check specifics of what they are going to require for final approving before telling them all of your personal business.
