If I can give a o star, I will. This Chicago Title Company did my San Leandro Property closing in Nov, 2021. It sent two payments to my previous HOA management account on the closing even though I told the escrow officer that it only needed to pay one month. Later, when I caught their mistake and asked them to follow up with HOA management company to refund my overpayment, it failed to do it. This officer is careless when she did her escrow statment, and failed to correct her mistake to follow up through with the overpayment. I am now still waiting to get the refund of my overpayment which made by this escrow person!!! read more

I wish I had the option to give 0 stars. I used Chicago Tile back in 2015, not a great experience. I was treated extremely bad on top of that they never followed up with a phone call or email in the middle of closing, I was the one that had to contact them but was received with a comment that I should use another company IN THE MIDDLE OF CLOSING!! Here is what you can expect from this company: Calls never returned, emails never replied to, , conflicting information, inability to answer questions other than "go somewhere else". I called a few days ago to get information for my taxes but they didn't want to talk to me. I don't understand how this company is running their business with extremely poor costumer service. read more

Careless! Escrow Officer mixed up the buyer and seller on a property which I've owner for the past 10 years. Almost jeopardized my commercial loan. When I called Chicago, I was told the escrow office was not available and was told someone will call me the next day. I'm at the eve of funding of a commercial transaction and don't need careless mistakes to create more questioning from the commercial lender. I had to prove my ownership of the property by ordering a new title report through a different title company. And there it was, clear as day, the correct buyer and sellers with dates of each transaction. I've completed transaction from other Chicago Title offices and had no issues. From the other reviews on Yelp, it appears there is a problem with this branch. read more

I worked with Lien Lam on both the selling of my old house and the buying of my new house. At some point she was handling both transactions at the same time. Escrow officers are only as good as the information they receive. I had a great experience with her because I never assumed everything was done correctly from spelling of names or addresses. I double checked everything before I signed it. And in my case everything was correct so I just signed. I also, know that she was working for me--so when I had a question I just asked and she was very responsive. I picked up my check at her office and I will work with this company again in the future. read more

I have been in the business almost 20 years and will tell you this kind of service is far and between!! Jackie delivered fast results, very professional, kind and courteous, and very informative to everyone. This escrow was in Berkeley and Jackie knew exactly what had to be completed and was on it!! It is all very clear I want to work with her again!! Their location is great with parking in the back with easy flat access... great for elders. Parking all over but the back lot you can trust handing your keys over to the attendant and elegantly entering the back door. Also very close to restaurants for a nice lunch. If you want the higher end service... you will get it with Jackie!! read more

I bought a house a few months ago and the seller wanted to use Chicago title. The staff seems to be nice, but they've screwed up twice on my escrow and had to deal with a lot unnecessary hassle. First, they didn't pay the home insurance through escrow and I ended up getting a call and bill from the insurance company. Second, I received a bill from the IRS saying I owed $51,000 in taxes!! And I'm not even the seller, WTF? It took me over 2 hours to get a hold of the IRS just to find out that the Chicago title didn't write the SSN on the check so it didn't get processed properly. Now I'm stuck dealing with this BS. I do not recommend unless you wanna deal with additional headache and stress. read more

These fools. My mom was supposed to receive a check back due to a deal that did not go through (no fault of the title company) and the check never arrived. Called, left voicemails, was assured check was being sent again. Still, nothing. Called again, got lied to and was told they didn't receive the voicemail, told oh your check is ready. Ok sure. This time my mom got smart and said, don't bother mailing it, I will come pick it up. We go pick it up. Name is wrong. Ask them to change the name. Name is changed. Go to car. Look at check. Address is wrong. Get another new check. How funny, that's probably why you never received the check! teehee, so funny. $19,000 missing is not funny. Finally got the check with address changed. And these fools never asked for id to change both a name and an address on a check that was worth $19,000. So next time you want some free money, just go tell them you are Joe Schmo and you were wondering where your check was, and they need to change all the info on some random check to YOUR name and address, without any proof of who the hell is asking. And ta-da! You won a small lotto prize! And you didn't even have to buy a ticket. IDIOTS. read more

Not a big fan. I dealt with 2 different escrow companies before and everything was streamlined. With CTT it was like pulling teeth. There was some delays with escrow that could have easily been avoided if they were more aggressive like the other title companies that I used. If I could have changed title companies midway I would have but unfortunately seller was the one that picked title. read more

I only give them two stars because it looks like we are going to close on time HOWEVER there are several mishaps with a home purchase. People are hard to get a hold of and didn't have materials prepared properly, didn't communicate between parties of what was needed. It is only through a lot of pushing on my and my real estate agent's part that this will close on time. There are so many title companies out there, I wouldn't use this one again, at least not this branch. read more

Lien Lam is hard working and has great communication! Lien is someone who I had not worked with in the past, but my client had used her previously and had a great experience. I ordered fees at 5pm and she had them sent over by 8pm the same day. The next morning I opened up my email and the prelim was already in. The client's spouse needed to sign a deed and called Lien and she had it ready that day and she was able to go right down and sign it. VERY hard working sending emails way past normal business hours. In this busy market finding someone to work late to get the job done can be tough, but Lien does just this! Thanks Lien and I will use you in the future! read more
