I would like to share my experience with Atomic Plumbing. Please read all the reviews before going…read moreto any Plumber! I had a light flash on my hot water heater and called the warranty department. The warranty department informed me we had to do an elemental check and will need a plumber to come out to check the reading. Once the plumber comes out give us (the warranty department) a call and they will walk them through on the issue. I called Atomic Plumbing and explained to the reception on the issue at hand. Gave her full details needed before the tech came and like most people who wrote the review, I too got a diagnostic fee but mine was 198.00. The tech came out, I gave him the details, and he informed me that an additional 130.00 will be added to the diagnostic fee because he was not informed, he had to make a phone call to the warranty office. I shook my head and said no, I was told the diagnostic fee was only going to be 198.00 because of the short notice and we need a tech to come out today. The tech informed me if he makes the call, it would be an hourly rate. Normally the call will take 30 min to an hour or more, he would have to wait on the call, give out details, and eventually delaying him on getting to the problem at hand. I told the tech the work has already been done; we have a case number already in place and they are waiting for his phone call. Tech said he can only do what the company would allow him to do. I agreed to the new price and the tech made the call. The tech gave the case number, and he was immediately routed to the department. The phone call literally took 11.23 min, I clock it. So, the 11.23 min that he was on the phone I was charged 117.00? 117.00 dollars divided by 11.23 min = $10.41852181656278 per second The tech said he will be back with a quote, gave me the quote and I paid for the diagnostic fee total 315.00 (The tech gave me a courtesy credit of 31.50.). I am getting the service done on Friday with another provider who informed me switching out the part should take no less then 20 min and with a quote that was an 84.939759036145% SAVINGS than what atomic plumbing quote. I am highly disappointed with Atomic Plumbing both with the service and with the hidden fees.

When I called the office to report his behavior, they told me "Chris is just an excited man" and justified his demeanor. They told me this was expected and should have known that my ducts weren't insulated. They never warned me about the downside to adding dampers to my system. They were extremely rude. We purchased an existing house 4 years ago which had a dual-fuel HVAC system. I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.
