I want everyone out there to know that Roy is a very dishonest business man he cheated me and another person out of thousands of dollars. Be very cautious when dealing with him in consignment sales.I want to hold him accountable for what he did to me and my friend. we bought 2 wind surfers and equipment which at the time cost around $4000. We used them 2 times for lessons and decide that this is not the right sport for us and went to Roy to sell them as consignment. Keep in mind we were about 17 years of age at this point in time. After a few months we called Roy and asked about our equipment and he said that he sold them several months ago and we were SoL. This man seems to be very nice on the outside but is in my option very crooked when it comes to business practices. My family and I spent this last week on Sanibel Island in Florida. We saw the Ace Performer truck parked in our condo's parking lot and decided to call to see about renting some paddle boards. From our first conversation everything went so smoothly! Not only did we rent 2 paddle boards but Roy told us about a new "toy" that we HAD to have. It was a ginormous mat that you can take into the ocean and it anchors down so it won't float away. The kids can play, wrestle, jump and sun bathe on it. It easily held 5 or 6 kids or 3 or 4 adults without sinking! I think that mat was the hit of the week! He delivered it to our condo and picked it up 4 days later. The prices were great and he made it so easy on us! I can't say enough about Roy and Ace Performer except that if you're in that area for vacation, you should definitely call him for your water needs! read more

I found these guys on google and not only were their prices very reasonable, they delivered the paddle boards directly to my place in sanibel. When you're vacationing, door to door service is so key. They had a great selection of boards to choose from and plenty of other options like kayaks and kiteboards. While we didn't need it, they also offered instructions to use them. The boards were fantastic - they were the right size and easy to use. Best of all Roy and his team were very very accommodating to us and let us enjoy our vacation without worrying about returning the board - we just locked them up outside of our place and hey picked them right up. Overall, it was one of the best rental experiences I had in a long time! I have never done wind surfing and came to Ft Myers specifically to learn how. I was referred to Ace Performers by a local resident and spoke with Roy over the phone prior to my trip. He was so helpful with making arrangements for lessons and offered many suggestions regarding times and location. When we met for the first lesson he even made a location change based on the wind conditions and changed our lesson spot. I really appreciated that. He is a great instructor, very hands on spending the whole lesson time right in the water with me. I loved it so much I booked another rental while on my trip. He has offered to give me advice over the phone regarding boards and said he could help me when I'm ready to purchase my own board! Roy is a great instructor that loves what he does. read more

We rented 2 paddleboards from Ace again this year because over the past 3 years we have been so impressed with his easy- to- work- out delivery service. He communicates quickly and easily by text so you don't lose any time at the beach. His rates are more than competitive and he is very personable to work with. In addition, he is knowledgeable about his rentals and how to use them.This vacation he suggested we try the new Watermat, which is like installing your own personal floating dock out in the ocean! The kids enjoyed sitting on it during the high surf periods and the adults enjoyed a gentle rocking nap when the waves calmed down. This business is top notch. Roy is so helpful. This was my second year renting a paddle board for 2 weeks during my stay at Sanibel. It was ready and waiting when I arrived. I get the beginner board so my kids can ride on it with me. Roy also gives me a kayak paddle to make the board also double as a kayak during the rough water days and to sit and hang out with the kids on the board. We also visited the shop to check out the Mermaid Tails he custom makes and sells. We bought one for my daughter. She loves it! My cousin came to visit from Missouri and wanted to learn how to windsurf. We contacted Ace Performer for lessons because of their reputation around Fort Myers as the place to go for board sports. Roy, the owner, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the water and knew exactly where to have us start out based on the wind direction and tides. During the instruction, he was patient and encouraging. It was obvious that he is passionate about what he does and truly enjoys sharing his love of windsurfing with others. We rented a paddleboard and took windsurfing lessons on the Sanibel causeway. Roy was easy to get ahold of, had lots of options for renting, and he was a good teacher. He offered to let us rent the boards for the week and take them with us to the beaches on Sanibel, unlike most rentals on Sanibel which have small boundaries. We are already planning to rent again on our next adventure. Thank you Roy! Our only concern was that the first beach Roy took us to, the Punta Rassa beach, has big "No Trespassing" signs. I went out with Roy for some lessons to restart my Windsurfing this year. I stop Windsurfing for about 10 years and had a very hard time in learning yibes in stuff, so I quite this sport. In my lessons with Ace Performer I started to have fun on Surfing again and guess what, after two days I can do a clean and nice Yibe too After this goal, Roy said:" now let's go on with helicopter!!" to push me getting even better but sorry, my holidays were over. My dad (64) and myself (24) both took kiteboarding lessons with Kellen. He was a fantastic teacher, my dad was able to get up on the board and get some good runs in. Roy was very easy to communicate with (texting!!!) and had a wide array of equipment to fit everyone and anyone who could want to take a lesson. The equipment was all beautiful and new and easy to use. The afternoon winds were just perfect for learning as was the water proof teaching head set and jet ski. Since it was our first time paddle boarding Roy took us near the Sanibel lighthouse. He was well aware of the current winds and which direction the gulf was blowing so we would enjoy the hour that we had. Roy gave a brief demo before we got in the water and while in the water. He also was instructional as how to get you and your board moving the other way, when going the wrong way. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again soon. I don't write reviews often, but I really wanted to emphasize just how great of an experience this was. I was able to go from absolutely no windsurfing experience and poor balance to being able to stay standing on the board and riding the waves within 30-45 minutes. Roy was such a patient teacher and never once made me feel bad for falling. And I fell a lot. I would say this is a very comfortable and safe way to learn how to windsurf. I plan on booking another lesson so I can improve my turning. read more

I live on sanibel and have passed the windsurfers many times....why not give it a try. I can't say it was easy for this 61 year old, but I sure did have fun!! Roy was an excellent teacher! Roy was great! I texted him at 7 in the morning and he delivered the paddle board to Sanibel three hours later. We got the superwide paddle board so that our kids could ride in the front. Everyone had such a great time, it was the highlight of our trip this year!!
