Having lived in Wilton now for 16 years, I somehow had never tried this business, however was highly recommended by the Wilton 411 Facebook group. When my go to emissions station closed down for renovation, I asked around and was directed to this place by other locals. The place is very clean with a huge waiting area that has magazines and a TV for your entertainment. Checking in was pretty straight forward and my car was taken foe inspection right away. What I liked about the place is that they have a TV that shows what the inspector is doing with the car, and was surprised how busy that whole activity is. It took about 15-20 minutes and my car was brought to the entrance, all warmed up and delivered with a smile. For the professionalism, convenience, cleanliness and promptness of service, this place is highly recommended. It is a tire shop, and may give them a chance when my car is due for tires. read more

I used to trust this team and gave them a second chance. They failed. Originally took our car in for some wire and washer hose damage from a mouse. They basically told me the mouse totaled the engine and would cost $1,000s to replace. Huge song and dance how bad it was and had to order all new wire harnesses including an entire washing hose kit. Ridiculous. Thank goodness I walked out. I went to Mini in Darien and they fixed the wire and the washer leak with a new hose for $150 including labor. Stating what happened was minor. One wire and one hose. And this was dealer, so shout out to them for being knowledgeable and honest. My second chance was today. My daughter needed help to fix a nail in the tire that was at 5/32. Enough tread life to justify a patch. They said I had to replace the tire, took them all day to tell me that. She went down the road and got it fixed it in 20 minutes! Enough said. Worst auto repair I've ever been to. Dishonest shop. Took my jaguar for a simple anti freeze leak they said they can fix it. It was a part to replace and then they kept the car for over a week. Then they come back at me with a over price repair bill. They then tell me the repair is much worse after they allowed a Macanic of their shop to take the car home over night. They charge me for replacing a part when they then tell me that the car needs a new engine.!!! Stay away from this shop!!! read more

Went there for front end alignment. They suggested I do an inspection. They told me my Year and a half old tires were bad , I need a complete front end rebuild (therefore unable to do an alignment) and several other problems that added up to $5,000. Went to Town Fair, had an excellent mechanic do an alignment and inspection for about a hundred bucks. He told me everything looked fine considering the age of the vehicle and nothing was lose. read more

overpriced, incompetent and dismissive -- they left my tires with low pressure , with hoses and pipes dangling on major and expensive tune up, quoted me nearly twice the price of what subsequent repairs ended up costing elsewhere , misdiagnosed a major repair, and best of all they lost a check from junking my vehicle , gave me the run around for 2 years when I'd ask about it , and then finally told me to get lost when I called them out on it today. what a bunch of smarmy hacks . they should probably stick to tires and lose the "auto" .. At any rate if you let them under your hood make sure your next stop is another mechanic. read more

These guys are the worst. If I could leave them negative stars I would. Only reason they have one is because there's no other option. I had my brakes done here about a year and a half ago. They charged me $1300. But that's not the worst part. What am I doing today? Changing pads and rotors on my rear. They don't know what they're doing. Don't being your vehicle here. They do horrible work and they are crooks. Do yourself a favor and go up the road to Precision Performance. They are fair and honest and they do the job right. May take a little longer because they are a smaller operation. They don't have a fancy building with complimentary wi-fi. But if you want yo pay for garbage work keep going to this place. Read the reviews for this place and thought it would be a good choice to have my brakes checked out. I called two weeks ahead and made an 8am appointment with Ben. He told me that he would reserve the loaner car for the day. This was very important as I live about 1/2 hour away. I got up at 6:30am and was 4 minutes from Wilton Auto when Ben called and said that they would not have the loaner car for me and that the best that he could do would be to give me a lift to somewhere locally in Wilton. This was a real problem. My brakes needed work and I made the appointment 2 weeks in advance and they called me at 7:56am to tell me they can't help me. If this is the way they run their business and treat their customers who knows what the service is. Completely unacceptable and poor management customer Service. Use them at your own risk. Maybe their service is ok. I don't know. What I do know is that their customer Service and organization is terrible. Good luck. read more

I brought my car to Wilton tire a few months ago and had a very good experience. They sold me new tires and while I was there I had an oil change. A little overpriced but good service. Today I found a nail in a tire so I immediately went there, as I'm leaving for vacation with the car after in 2 days. The guy behind the desk wouldn't even look at the tire at first. When I pleaded with him, he said he would look in the parking lot. Very nice of him. He confirmed it was a nail but did not have time today to fix. I said ok I'll come back tomorrow. He said he didn't have time tomorrow either! He wouldn't be able to fix the tire before I take the car on vacation. So much for customer service! There was a mechanic across the street, Precision Automotive, They were packed with cars, but I figured l'd give it a try. I asked the owner if they could fix a tire with a nail. His answer "sure!" 15 minutes and $20 later, nail removed and tire was fixed! Now that's customer service. How dare Wilton treat a customer in need like that! Getting him out to the parking lot took effort. Really? Too big for their britches? I was going to make Wilton my go-to mechanic. Obviously they don't need my business. Coincidentally I recently received a text from them saying "your car is due for service". Ha not going there if that's how they treat a customer in need. No thanks. read more

I called a few weeks ago and asked if I needed an appointment to have a tail light replaced on my jeep. They told me to just come in whenever. I went down and not only did they changed the light right away, they only charged me for the replacement bulb. Such a wonderful place, everyone was friendly and accommodating. I plan on bringing my car back for any and all repairs it needs going forward. *update as of 3/6/17* I have now taken my Jeep here 3 times to be serviced. It is the only place I will go now. They are friendly, honest and do an excellent job. And it is always ready sooner than I think it will be! If you need repairs or service this is the place to go, they are trustworthy and thorough. It's not a good thing when you take your 2003 car in for a prevention measure/new timing belt and find out from a local mechanic doing an oil change just months later that the timing belt job was done incorrectly and now I did have an absolute hazard - thanks to Wilton Auto & Tire. Wilton Auto & Tire Center charged me an additional $200+ for gasket work, which was of course something else altogether they claimed, not what my mechanic says was their incompetence in not putting on the head gasket correctly. Bring car in and pay top dollar for prevention and pay instead for a dangerous hazard. Thank goodness it was found - by someone else. never an apology either. read more

I am very disappointed with the lack of communication from this company. The only person who actually showed any genuineness towards me was a new hire, Makiah. She took great care of me and I could see how much she was taken advantage of. While she was being genuinely helpful all the other associates were speaking over her and trying to make her seem as if she did not know what she was talking about, however, she was finishing my sentences and knew exactly what my car needed. Everyone in this shop is rude and unreliable. I would never in a million years refer this company to anyone, at least anyone I liked. I agree with another user Jim S. who said they would leave negative stars if they could. You would expect better service from a place with almost 5 stars on google. My guess is that they are all from the associates themselves. If you want good service on your vehicle and don't want to be treated like actual garbage, I would find another auto shop. I called ahead to see if I could get a flat tire checked out. After initial inspection, it looked like it might not be repairable, but they'd give it a shot and call me the next day. 8AM rolls by and they call telling me they were able to patch the tire. Any shop could have easily said the tire was shot and that I'd need new ones, but these guys took the high road and did the right thing. They even went as far as to re-mount my patched tire free of charge. I'm happy to have an honest auto shop in town that I can rely on, and know where I'm going to go when I need new tires installed, or any auto work for that matter! read more

Five years after my initial review, I'm still pleased. They've moved a few miles up the road to a larger, cleaner facility with a waiting area, coffee machine, wi-fi etc so you can now just sit there and read or get some work done it you're just in for an oil change or something. There's been some turnover in the desk staff; the new guys are nice, too. They sometimes send coupons in the mail and the Wilton town calendar has monthly coupons. I haven't bought tires anywhere but a tire store in years but got a set through them recently and the price was fine. The diner isn't right across the street anymore but they offer rides home or to the train station and pick-up and delivery. So they continue to evolve with the times while still having guys who can diagnose a problem and fix it, not just read a code off a computer and replace and entire assembly. Thumbs up! read more

Avoid. Liars and scammers. Told me I needed repairs when I didn't and their labor rates are high. I thought I was having an issue with my brakes and needed the pads replaced. They told me I needed the pads replaced because they were at 10-20% wear. They also said the rotors and the brake fluid needed to be changed for a grand total of $950+. Thankfully I checked for other quotes and found South Salem Auto Care. They quoted me $623 - same NAPA parts, lower labor fees. It gets worse. I brought the car to South Salem this morning. An hour later I got a call telling me that my brake pads don't need replacing; wear is only 50-60%. Rotors were fine too. When I went in to pick up the car they spent 15-20 minutes explaining why I was having the issue I experienced and why I didn't need the parts replaced; they'd ordered them and were shipping them back. They did drain and replace the brake fluid for $50. read more

Requested a quote for a synthetic oil change thru Yelp and got a response right away. Set up an appointment and they were able to accommodate me after being 30 mins late due to traffic. After getting all of the info for my car, they were able to save me over $20 on the oil change by letting me know that I could use a blend instead of full synthetic. Waiting inside and they guys were all great. Quick service, great pricing, and even a free candy bar! They also offer you a gift certificate for getting your next oil change. After my husband got his tires changed quickly and for a great price I went back yesterday for my car. Got the wiper on my Volvo fixed in under ten minutes....my kids weren't even done with the ice cream that Mike had offered them when my car came out! Wonderful, prompt, and individualized service. I've been getting oil changes here for the past 6 months. It's about $80 for synthetic which was a little overpriced to begin with. They offer free rides and it was convenient to work. I just don't want to store the ramps and oil pan to do it myself. This time, I got a call at 2pm that my car was ready for pickup. I told them I'd come get it later. I got another call from Don at 4pm saying my battery was dead and I'd need it replaced for $190 (almost double the cost). I told him "that's a little strange, it's been working in colder weather for weeks". He told me "usually they just die like that". I showed up at 5pm and the accessories barely turned on. Mind you, this was after a 35mi daily drive to work at 60mph keeping it topped off very well. It has shown no sign of deterioration. I got a quick jump and the battery has been starting great for a couple days. It almost made me late to a very important appointment. Even if the battery happened to have died, THEY LEFT IT THERE FOR 3 HOURS!! That is what will kill a car battery. There was no suggestion to jump the car for me, charge it, etc. The heat was on almost all the way (I turn it off every time) and the radio was back on. A little suspicious. Any shop reducing my car's life is not a shop I want to do business with. Any shop that might be trying to make a quick buck off my lack of technical knowledge is one I won't talk with again. read more

So Friends , just giving you the heads up!!!! DO NOT EVER USE WILTON AUTO AND TIRE OWENED BY MIKE LIDQUIST - Someone we grew up with. I've had the worst experiecne with his company, Customer service and their shotty work, ''I had a an intoxalock put in my car using them . First day. pick up my car drive down the road signals not working - go back, kid didn't put the cover on right (now the cover where the signal was being pulled down dented up) Did nothing just said sorry it happens, Next day driving all the wires the stuffed up under the stearing wheel drop down all on my feet (while driving) - pull over in the pouring raing trying to tye up the wires so I can drive, see that the coating to the dash board piece has been taken off by the push start. Bring back Monday - told oh sorry cover not put on right and the coating is from you - normal wear and tear (always remember to take photos of your car before trying a new place)and the fabric to my side widows is all dirty from their mechanic. Just got a sorry for the inconveince. (now lost 3 days of work no compensation ) bring maching in for calibration - not even let me give you that for free for coming back here.. (Month later Hmmmm , the mechanic that worked on my car was fired..) told he had issues. NOW WAIT - You're telling me you had someone who has issues working on my 50,000 car... Bad customer service. After a year of bitching about the piece they scratched ( now have leway since they fired the mechanic) Don the service manager had major attitudes with me . I was told he would call back in an hour. 3 hours go by I call and get yelled at by Don he is trying to do right by me. told him I called hours ago - oh I didn't know that . attitude changed, Bring car back get unit out and piece replaced. DON CHARGED ME FOR THE PART (10.00 PART WTF) but not labor. Bad cutomer service and thinking I must be stupid I am a woman. HMMM they would need more shop parts to put something in than take out - SO WHY WAS MY TAKE OUT BILL 10.00 PLUS TAX MORE?????? - so now it is October my life has been busy and haven't cleaned my car out , just did discovered the side panel where they took the wire out of will not push in ( Have Bruce Bennett Nisan take a look - invoice with notation - you are missing the inner part so we can put the two peaces togther .) Leave 2 messages with Don - Think I got a call - nope ignored. called today told he is done with my car and I waited this long to tell him. and of course I start to get really pissed now and not nice on the phone. Get told nice mouth - told Don you guys ruined my dash and you don't think you will get attitude. If it was the other way around this would be a different story , But then again when I was in retail cusotmer service was the most important thing was making sure my customer were taking care of (that's why I had people come only when I was there). Now common sense, if you had people taking things in and out of the areas being complained about one would take care of it and not basically acuse the person of making things up.. read more

I used Wilton Auto Body and Repair for new tires. I ordered them and Wilton Auto and Tire took the day to put them on. I received a call indicating that my new tires were on and it was ready for pick up. I arrived and when I looked at the tires they looked great at first glance. I started the car to leave but I noticed my tire pressure warning was still on. I got out to look at the tires again. They were the exact same tires - they just cleaned them! They left my old tires on, cleaned them, and told me my new tires were on and they were ready. They acted like they didn't know what happened and it was some mistake.... It was as close to robbed as I have ever come. Watch out for this place and make sure you look over their work closely if you have to use their services. read more

Went for overheating radiator, paid $1481 for the privilege, a month later it's leaking, found defective. They replaced again, 3 weeks later same thing... leaking all over inside of car. This time they tell me its the head gasket... what? Took to my regular mechanic, he showed us the obviously defective second radiator, replaced it for less than half the price, said no head gasket issue (said that made no sense). WA&T won't give me any $$$ back. read more

I took my car there to have some work done. I left and drove for about a 1/4 of a mile before realizing that my tire was flat. It was not flat when I brought it to the shop. Wilton Auto and Tire refused to pay for the tire or even give me a discount on a new one. I recently took my car there for a diagnostic work and an oil change. When I picked up the car, the battery was dead because the inside light had been left on. A few days later, the oil light came on because I was low on oil. Evidently, Wilton Auto and Tire had charge me over $100 for oil and filter change but never put oil in. read more

Very friendly service. We had a flat tire which was very hard to replace. They spent a whole day trying to find a replacement and in the end fixed it for a fraction of the cost. I've had my other car fixed here as well. Very fair pricing, good work and you leave feeling that everything was done top notch and with honesty. Terrific customer service. read more

Unfortunately my experience with this business has been less than positive. I broke down on route 7 and had no choice but to pull over for what I thought was a new muffler. According to Wilton Auto and Tire I needed a new catalytic among other things for $1,284. A few days later they called to tell me that I needed an oxygen sensor for an additional $475. I picked up the car the day before yesterday and still had the "motorcycle" sound affect. They said the noise wasn't there the day before. Picked up the car today to find that the engine light was on, wasn't on when I drove the car to their business. When my boyfriend called to inquire they said the engine light wasn't on before, meaning an hour earlier. They have washed their hands of this. Tomorrow I will bring the car to a mechanic in my town to see why the engine light is on. My research points to a faulty oxygen sensor they replaced. Hopefully the diagnostic test will tell me tomorrow. The car service and knowledge is not at Wilton Auto and Tire, sorry to say. A week later and close to $2k my car isn't fixed yet, very disappointing read more
