Came here for tires, they rushed and didn't balance my tires and forgot to tighten the lug nuts on my tire. Caused damage to my TPMS sensor. Left a message to talk to manager and never got a call back. Was better off going to discount tires in country side or oak lawn. Warranty only 5 yrs at Ace. Discount is life of tire. read more

I have a tactical black 2008 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor. CVPI. P71. An unmarked cop car converted to civilian use. I am writing this review near a year after I had the following work done: 1. Replace factory double din radio with Pioneer Touchscreen. I bought this radio on my own and had Ace do the install. Perfect job but the radio sucks. I'll soon be back to Ace and buy what they recommend. I won't quibble. I won't procrastinate. I'll just take whatever advice they have and I know I will be in OMG mode. 2. Install back up camera. Pretty cool. Put car in reverse and I can check for the wee ones. The p71 is huge and backing up has blind spots. Great camera and great install connected to my touchscreen on the above mentioned radio. 3. Install a Viper security system. I can use my iPhone to check the status of the car. Is a door open? Is the car running? I can see the exact location of my car on a google map. I can start, stop, lock/unlock , operate trunk from anywhere in the world. Comes with a fob. I want to upgrade to a proximity system that will lock/unlock, start car as I approach the car. Viper uses Apple's 4th generation smart Bluetooth to accomplish this wizardry. 4. Maxxed out Black tint side and back windows to the extent allowed by Illinois law. I know many go to a total limo tint. But my car gets loads of police attention as it is. Basically my car is better than there's and with the new FWD and AWD cop cars coming on line, well what can I say? Mine is bigger. I whip my P71 out on the road and show it off to anyone who thinks they are bigger. The ladies riding in my car always ooh and ahh over the shear size of my piston powered, elongated, road tool. Be advised gents: when it comes to this level of manly activities size matters. Back to the tint. It's a thin, evenly applied layer of skin tight protection. Condemn when using this product? No one will think to offer to condemn anyone using the Viper branded tint. No sir, no condemns for me. The application of the tint was clearly a hand job, stroked to a hard finish surrounding the cockpit. Fact is this install came out looking factory. So good the cops have never questioned the legality of the tint. A year later everything still works and looks like a new install. The tint is still factory install quality. The Viper watches over my car 24/7. It is peace of mind and a real convenience. This was all installed in about 6 hours. Not slip shod install. Everything screams factory. Which is exactly how I want my Interceptor to look. The price? I won't say. I will say get your best buy quotes and your pep boys quote and your handyman next door neighbor quote. Then go to Ace. The total bill was less the cost of parts alone elsewhere. I am not talking 10%. I am talking a price so low I had to correct the manager for an obviously misquoted job. He informed me he knew his job and politely asked me if I wanted to pay more? Holy Mother of OMG! This guy was serious. I figured there would be quality control or install issues with this lowball quote. Wrong. They got it 100 % perfect on round 1. At best buy I would have waited forever, paid a whole lot more, and had the install done by a guy with a roll of tint, a pair of shears, a bucket of soapy water, and a hand held hair dryer. Probably used that water on another job and I am not one for being given potentially messy seconds. The magicians and wizards at Ace can do anything. And for less than you can do it yourself. I'm talking to you Mister High School Shop dropout. Just because you watched your daddy change the oil once doesn't make you ready for your own custom auto show on the History Channel. You get smart. Go to Ace and they'll do to perfection in a few hours what it wiil take you all day to totally take apart, foul up, not read the directions, not have the proper tools resulting in the sobs and terror filled screams of a grown man utterly defeated and realizing he now has to go ask another man to salvage the debris of what was a pretty darn nice ride. You'd sooner stop at a gas station and ask directions than you would make this drive of a shame to a professional who informs you that you need to take what's left of your car to Victory Auto. You think about it and ask for a second opinion. He says "alright, I also think your ugly." My point is you can pay a great price now and have the folks at Ace do an obsessively compulsive disorder install and get perfection. Or you can go to one if the big box stores, or national car repair chain, or even personally undertake the job. After all the box says right on it: "Installs in minutes using hand tools.*" But on the other side of the box it says. "*If you are a certified master mechanic with 10 plus years of experience working on a range of cars and have an eight drawer mechanics tool set and access to a hydraulic lift. Yes Hi i just wanted to state that me and my little brother went into juans shop today looking for rims for his ford focus titanium and even with the crowd of people in there he still took time out for us to go on his computer and look to see what the best options and prices were for my brothers car regardless if he was making the sale or not!!! The shop i went to before him was willing to sell me a rim that wouldnt comply with his car! Regardless of what Juan's response is they still screwed up on scheduling my vehicle properly even though I scheduled it two weeks prior to coming in and took a half day off of work due to the fact that they said they couldn't schedule me in at any other time. As far as swearing at the workers who installed my equipment like garbage and ruined my console, who wouldn't swear up and down when a all the workers gang up around you and surround you around your car looking like they're about to ruff you up??? Also, who wouldn't get upset about a company that supposedly takes pride in their work is now denying that they ruined the interior of my car. Either way, if you want good work done on your vehicle and work with people that know how to schedule you into they're place of business properly then go somewhere else. Also, look at many of their other reviews, they repeat pretty much what I'm saying except I had enough courage to stand up against them by bringing up the fact that they ruined my interior. read more

Viper alarmed installed 6/14. Great price, great service. Efficient service. No problems at almost 2 years. Started to get intermittent false alarms on the viper alarm. Brought the car in to get it looked at before my daughter took the car back to college. Also had a stereo and amp put in. They said it was repaired and away I went with the car. The intermittent alarms continued and worsened becoming a daily problem. Had to bring car back to Chicago to take it in again. They said they repaired it and picked the car up again. They assured me it was ok now. Had to go in a third time when they told me it was a door switch problem and I had to get it repaired before the alarm would work. The door switch problem turned out to be a wiring issue related to their stereo installation. I found you tube videos and other info on honda tech.com that explained how to wire the door switches after installing an aftermarket radio in a 96 thru 98 civic. I brought the car in for the fourth time so they could jump proper wires on the harness from the old stereo to get the alarm working on the doors. A customer should not have to research wiring repairs and tell the installation shop to fix their installation errors. Just sayin. After they fixed their wiring issue the car was retuned and that night I was woken up 4 times with the alarm going off. Back to Ace tire and wheel for the 5th time. They replaced the viper alarm with a new viper alarm that was not the same alarm I had. They told me they upgraded the replacement alarm. They never got consent from me. I thought they would replace it with the same model. Regardless of that the new remote had a range of 3/4 of a mile less than the new alarm. What kind of upgrade is that. The real big issue is that they gave me an old used remote with the supposedly new viper alarm. It was scratched on the lens and housing and had crud buildup on it. Furthermore the already diminished range was worse than ever. The range is about 100 ft. So much for an upgrade. Argued in the customer waiting area with Ace tire and wheel about the used remote and range issues. They said it's new and came out of the box like that. It looks like this remote was carried around in someones pocket for a couple years. They argued with me and embarrassed me in front of other customers. It's so obvious it's an old remote. They said I have to come in with the car again to fix the range problem. That will be the 6th time returning to their store for this alarm nightmare I'm in. The car has to be driven back from my daughters college With the returning back in forth I have almost 20 hours of driving and 5 half days lost and I'm left with a faulty alarm and an old scratched up remote. All that and I still have to go back to get the new alarm and remote fixed. A real nightmare. I see a lot of good reviews but when something goes bad they don't rise to the occasion. They lied to my face and argued with me when I called them on it. Hopefully you'll have better luck. read more

I was looking for a place to be open on Memorial Day to tint my wife's front windows on her car. I walked into the place couldn't believe they were open and they quoted me a price well below everyone else's price in the area to tint 2 windows. They not only told me the price but told me to bring my car back in a few hours as they had an opening. I came back with my 2 kids and my car was done so quickly and was done great. The work they did and the tine they use is top notch. Car came out really good and they were so friendly to my 2 kids there. I can't wait to return when I get a new car in the future. Extremely bad service horrible horrible horrible service. I went Friday to try to get my Windows tinted on my Volkswagen Jetta, waited about two hours before I can get anybody to help me. Once helped I was told that it was only by appointment, so I made my appointment for the following Monday at 1 PM, I go that Monday I show up the front desk lady was really nice she asked what I was there for I said I had an appointment to take my windows so she took my keys and told me to wait in the waiting room. So a guy comes up to me tells me that the job would take four to five hours and that they will have some difficulties with my back window because the old tint is very old and burnt, He pretty much explained that it would be easier to put the new tint than to remove the old tint so I said ok that's fine, So he recommended I go home And then come back to pick up the vehicle I said Ok. Then as I'm ordering a Lyft to go home, Another guy comes up to me telling me that he cannot do the job because it will take 5 to 6 hours and it's too much work especially considering I want it my windshield tinted as well, So he called the guy that took care of me that previous Friday and the guy explained that what I was being charged was only for my four windows and my back window and if I wanted my windshield tinted it would be $125 more so $500 I was going to be charged when to begin with that Friday I said I wanted Tints all around meaning my windshield included so I just told the guy to leave like that to just do my four windows and my back window and he said he still can't do the job because he has another guy after me and he's going to pay like $6000 and if that other guy does not get his windows tinted he does not want the job done And I said but I had my appointment for him and the employee just kept telling me that that other guy was going to pay him $6000 so I got upset and I asked them for my keys and told him that he can take those $6000 and stick them where they fit because my money is not worth any less than anybody else we're all going to pay money either way. Very rude & unprofessionally, I made my appointment for a reason then he comes up with that. This place deserves N O S T A R S. WILL NEVER RETURN. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! read more

I had called around and other shops quoted me $15-$20 since this place was on my way to work i decided to stop here, that was a mistake. I have been very pleased with the 3 times I have used Ace Tire and Wheel. They installed a CB radio and external antennae for my Jeep Wrangler at low cost and it worked perfectly on a recent Jeep Jamboree. They also have installed a Teraflex leveling kit on my jeep quickly and inexpensively. Lastly they helped correct an improper installation of a winch on my AEV bumper and replaced the metal winch cable with synthetic rope. I thought this was a good place but i was wrong. made an appointment took the truck when they opened didn't get it back till an hour before they close. Go some where else had a remote start put on my vehicle i paid over 700 dollars only to find out that they messed up my 4x4. Every Time i put a fuse in the 4x4 the truck starts automatic with no key not a good place go to a dealership or a place just for alarms. They are not ase certified. Will never go here again or recommend any one to this place. read more

I took my van to this place to get an alarm and starter and I told the guys which one I wanted 2 guys took care of me at the same time and they ended up installing the wrong alarm system they told me we will call you when is done, I didn't get a receipt nothing they just send me home and told me to wait for the phone call I waited over 3 hours and nothing I decided to go and see what the problem was and my van was already seating outside the shop this guys don't care a bit for their costumers and do not know how to run a business they screw me big time what a waste I will never come back to this place even though is just a few blocks from where I live. I also found out they are overpricing about $50.00 more you will pay at this good for nothing place. I do not recommend this place to anyone read more

I came here to get a remote start. After they installed it the remote start was not properly working causing it to not start in the morning and randomly throughout the day. I called them and they agreed to fix it. I had to bring it in five additional times and the problem was still not fixed. I called the company that made the product (Viper), and they explained that the bypass module was not properly integrated with my vehicle (an installation issue). Viper explained that Ace Tire and Wheel could call them directly and they would walk them step by step through the process to remediate this issue. Ace Tire and Wheel did not call Viper and tried again to fix the issue, unsuccessfully. I called back asking for a refund and to keep the device in my car, so another place could fix their mistake. They surprisingly agreed with my request on the phone, but when I drove the 45 minutes there for the sixth time to get my money back they took back what they said and explained they would have to remove the device. Beyond frustrated and annoyed with the amount of time and gas money wasted on this. I was very happy with the actual Viper product, it was just incorrectly installed.... read more
