After today's visit, I cannot give Ace a favorable review. I went in to buy some Bates dress shoes and the lady disappeared into the back room to grab a size and just left me sitting there waiting for 15 minutes and never returned. I finally got up and shopped for some other stuff and went to the checkout stand. The lady who was supposed to be getting my shoe size was there ringing up customers. Ok, this place is convenient in that they will probably have what you need. It is overpriced in many areas, so I recommend going there and find what you want/need, then order on ebay. This being said, some stuff is very well priced, but some stuff is marked up like 30% (like the streamlight flashlights)... so just double check the prices before buying. A 5-10% markup is reasonable to me. Their Uniforms are priced well and they have in-house tailors so its quick/easy. Overpriced and some of the sales employees are complete morons, a only few are pretty good. I go here due to the large selection for LE and the fact that they are approved to sell items I need for my department. They also have a guy who does shoe polishing, I've used him a couple of times. Do NOT get alterations done here, it's been a nightmare experience and they ruined my uniform! Brought 2 sets of uniforms in on Jan 11th, the alterations were all wrong. They did a 2nd fitting and said it would be ready in 2 days. 5 days later they call me asking what needed to be done on my uniforms! When I pick them up, nothing fits, they added the wrong # of service stripes, and my $120 shirt was sewn too small and is now ruined! I ask for a refund because I'll have to get the rest of my uniformed fixed elsewhere. 2 weeks go by, refund still has not shown on my bank statement. I call again, female manager who I've been dealing with this entire experience promises me she processed the refund and someone would reach back out to me that same day. A week later, refund still hasn't arrived and I've heard nothing. Now I'm out the original $48 I spent on alterations, the $120 for my ruined uniform shirt, and have to pay someone else to fix all my uniforms. ABSOLUTELY NIGHTMARE! Not to mention all the wasted gas $$$ driving downtown four times all for nothing. read more

ACE uniforms is alright, we at SDPD and many other agencies only have 2 providers for uniforms in SD County. So we are stuck with who we got. Customer service isn't the greatest, after trying to get the new vest cover I was handed one and asked do you know how to do it I said no and they said we will get someone to help you 20 minutes later still no help, so I figured it out on my own. Then waited another 20 min for some "dude" to help me, then got passed off to another employee for something else I needed. Also you would think they know when SDPD officers get their uniform allowances and would have everything in stock as needed, but of course they did not. ACE needs to get their stuff together customer service should be priority one and products that are here and don't need to be special ordered especially around uniform allowance time. read more

Went in to buy some uniform items and was instantly greeted and offered help by Mark (the owner) and Julie. She then walked me through the entire store and helped me find every item on my list. This place has everything! When I went back on Saturday afternoon to pick up my order I got stuck in traffic and called to let them know I would be a bit late since they close at 1:30pm on Saturdays. They assured me it was no problem. I arrived at 2pm feeling bad for making them wait but Mark said it was totally fine and was super friendly as usual. He said he would have come in on Sunday (they're closed on sundays) to open up the store just so I could pick up my uniforms since I absolutely needed them for Monday Morning. Talk about exceptional customer service! Mark even gave me his cell phone number so I could call him if I ever need anything. The other posts on here complain about the items being a bit pricey but ACE price matches on anything so if you find it cheaper somewhere else just bring in a printout or show them on your phone. Great customer service and price matching on items... Doesnt get much better than that. ACE is the place to go. I have been to ACE a couple of times recently in need of uniforms. They were very helpful every time I went and was very satisficed with the service. Until I ordered a jacket. Placed the order, paid in full, was told it would take about 17 days to get the item after I payed. Not really happy they told me the time frame after I paid, but I know it takes a bit to get in and sew stuff on it. They told me I would receive an email to pick up. After 18 days I called, because it is still cold and rainy so need the jacket. Upon calling was told the jacket I ordered was discontinued. Okay, question......why was I not informed of this sooner? As a service oriented company I would think you would call the customer and tell them when you try to order the jacket and tell them before it is due to be done. I got my refund after some to do. The employee who helped me with my return was great, and I know this whole thing had nothing to do with her. But has made me rethink going back. read more

Shoe was shit, not a month in and they were torn up. (Work in the food industry) I went back, and although they wouldn't give me my money back I got store credit on two other pairs of shoes (dansko and mozo). Danskos I have a love hate relationship and the mozo is my go-to so boom. Still great service tho :) read more

Order on 9/22/16 a rank ribbon for my badge, since partners at work been ordering there, but it has been a nightmare and another huge disappointment; 1.Lady stated that she was familiar with these orders, and had help a lot of us (CDC); 2.I was charged more than others ($40.00 vs $27.00), oh well; 3.They ordered the rank ribbon on top, our agency goes on bottom. Went back on December 15, 2016, to get this issue fix, and just got a small apology from the beard guy. No discounts, no expedite order placed, even though I was told otherwise, nothing. Still waiting from ACE. I will recommend peers to order from other vendors on line, or drive to Galls, QM, Keystone and other places around the LA/OC areas. second time here, not good. Simply was robbed here, and I decided to write about this. *** I spent over $3000 (thousand) buying uniforms and equipment in this store since I was working in private security industry for years. I was regular customer, and most of employees knew me - including owner - the guy I guess originally somwhere from Eastern Europe. I ordered 2 pairs of pants for work. However, before order was ready to pick up, I found out that the design of those pants is not accepted by the company I worked for. I went back to store and explaining them situation asked to cancel the order and refund money I paid. Unlikely, the person, whom I contacted with that request was an owner of the store - bald older guy. He said they can't refund money I paid for the pants and carefully wrote it down on my receipt like he wanted to make sure no one in store will do it just in case if I ask somebody else (and honestly, there were some emplyees with a good personality, who would try to help). I was really surprised facing such attitude. "What do mean I can't get refund?" The order even wasn't comleted. Any store gives an option for return items even after buying. He went through useless explanations about cost of shipping and other spendings that store already made by placing my order. In fact, it was exposition of poor person with neither professional customer service nor good people's skills, who just didn't care. I don't know what would be the reason for him to hold something against me personally. It was something that I never experienced at any store. I told him about the approximate amount of money I paid in his store and emphasized that just for the reason of me being a long term customer, whom he often have seen here, he shouldn't treat me in such careless and disrespectful way. Got only partial refund weeks later, and even to get that I had to call them several times. So poor. So cheap. I feel sorry for such people, who may own the store but strugle due to stingy personality. Everything happen for some good reason. Honestly, after most of purchuses I made in this store I would feel like I got robbed. There would be one price displayed on shelves, and it would go up to 30 percent, when checking out at the cashiers. Never go back there and happy I don't. Much better to shop online for equipment and buy uniforms at 5.11. For comparison: I bought boots at 5.11 and used them for a month at work. One little metal pin fell off from the side of the boots. I went to 5.11 just to check other stuff and while speaking with one of the employees, told him what did happen to boots I bought from them. Without asking any other questions, the guy told me to bring back those boots and offered me anything I want from the store for price I paid for boots. That's what we called great customer service and great personality. Cannot tell this about "aceuniforms". I don't recommend going to this place if you are new, and I told that to all my coworkers and friends. What a WONDERFUL experience!!! We were immediately greeted by Marc, who inquired about our needs. He went above and beyond to find what we were looking for, and even made calls to help us further. I was very impressed by his pleasant personality and competency. The other employees were also very upbeat and seemed to be in constant motion making sure that each customer felt that they were being taken care of. Terrible experience!!!!! They had to order my 3 pairs of scrubs, wouldn't give me even one pair when they had 2 on the floor. Told me it will take 7 days, ends up being over 2 weeks. I called on the 7th day and they couldn't find my order. Then they found it after a while. My husband went to pick it up for me and tried to charge him even though the company I work for paid for it. Then they made him go to their warehouse to find my order, how is that okay!?!? Then they only give him two pairs because they put it in the system wrong so he had to go back again. This store doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside they have a terrific selection of scrubs, hospital shoes, and more (I am a nurse, so I can't comment on the uniforms that they sell for other professions, but I can only assume the variety is just as wide). They also do custom embroidery and patiently helped me to select just the right font and color. They embroidered my lab coat while I shopped and it was ready in just a few minutes. If you are willing to bargain hunt, the clearance section has some great hidden gems too. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable.
