The BEST place... we absolutely loved it. If you're looking for something that feels a little luxurious but still warm and inviting (not overcrowded or overly modern), this is it. It truly feels like a little taste of Paris. The atmosphere is just perfect, the food is incredible, and you can really feel the care behind everything - especially knowing the owners are from France. What made it even more special was the people. Casey and Logan were so kind and attentive, and Michelle (the owner) has created something really special here. We went later in the evening towards close after calling ahead to ensure they didn't mind. After very neglectful unpleasant service we left without tip after they were rude about various things wrt timing (ie "it's the end of the night and everyone is closing down"). For a week later the female manager called and left multiple very rude stalkery voicemails. EDIT: Responding to the comment... when a manager inappropriately hunts your phone number down and leaves harassing messages... this isn't something I want to be involved in, and the comments' defensiveness completely validates why I'm leaving this very negative review after some time. Seems it goes straight to the top. My review here isn't for the business. Bacquet's has been on my to go list for a long time. My cousin wanted to celebrate her birthday here so it's finally my time to try it out! Our reservation was at 6:30. I showed up first and was sat at our table that was beautifully set. After everyone showed up, we got to looking over the menu. Everything on the menu looked good. I'm not a big protein eater so my options were quite limited. What I did see that I could have was the ratatouille pasta. I did notice on their lunch menu that they offer a couple salads. It would have been nice to have that option for dinner. After orders were placed, we enjoyed the fresh bread and butter. There was a live band playing in the background which created such a nice vibe to the place. The bread was fabulous! It was warm, crusty on the outside and so soft in the middle. The butter that was paired with the bread was delicious! So soft and salty. It was hard not to over butter the bread, it was the perfect vessel for the butter. I did order the soup de jour to start. It's a black truffle cream of asparagus soup. First glance at the soup, it looked creamy and rich. The croutons on top were perfectly golden. After a couple bites, rich is how I would describe this soup. It was savory and thick. The croutons added a nice texture to the soup. I was able to eat about half. It honestly was too rich. And then you add the buttery croutons, it was overwhelming. It would have have nice to have small pieces of asparagus to help with the texture and less croutons. Dinner took a while to come out. My pasta was prettily plated in a big pasta bowl. You can see the papperdelle pasta covered in the sauce. The pieces of zucchini, egg plant and bell pepper were delicately diced. The papperdelle was cooked nicely. The sauce was hearty from the veggies. The sauce also had a nice heat to it. It could have used a hair more salt to the dish. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper at the table but non was available. As hearty as the sauce was, it was underwhelming in flavor. We did end dinner with some bread pudding and creme brulee. Both were devine! The bread pudding was hot and sweet. You can tell that it came straight out the oven. The creme brulee was creamy. The sugar crust added a nice bitter element to the custard. Both were beautifully presented. I think I would have enjoyed this experience if we didn't have such long wait times for everything. It took us 3 hours from start to finish. Long wait time for our starters, for dinner and then for dessert. The bread and butter as fantastic. The soup was overwhelmingly rich. The pasta needed more seasoning. It was a neat experience with the live music and ambiance of the venue but the food was just ok for me. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! Food: 5/5. Started off with the escargot. I had never had it before but have always wanted to try it and thought "why not". It was great! Still sizzling hot, buttery and quite pleasant! If you have ever wanted to try it, I recommend trying it here. We went on a Thursday when they have Prime Rib which was absolutely delicious! We also got the duck leg which was amazing as well. For dessert, the creme brûlée was top-notch and plated beautifully! Our waitress also recommends a delicious Malbec wine that paired well with our meal. Service: 5/5. Savannah was delightful and so welcoming! Atmosphere: 5/5. We sat on the patio which has a water feature and a great ambiance. Indoors is a completely different, more elevated vibe. I feel like either options makes for a great experience. This was the perfect restaurant for a celebration and a great place for a date night! There were a few older kids, but I would not recommend taking younger kids to this establishment. In 2023 I listed Bacquet's as one of the best restaurants in all the places I visited that year That included restaurant visits in Philadelphia, Chicago, New Orleans, Istanbul, and Paris. I had a chance to go back before heading out to Greensboro North Carolina for work and it's as amazing now as it was in 2023. Why I wait so long between visits is beyond reason Whoever was the chef the day I visited made me a spectacular salad. The shallot balsamic vinaigrette was on point. I decided to have escargots and it instantly brought me back to many trips to France. The garlic and butter was just the right amount and while it was splendide, having the ACME bread to soak up every drop afterwards was the proverbial icing on the cake. You can really tell the owners put so much love into the art of what they do, and it shows in every detail. Everything we had was just as divine as it looks in the photos--it's clear the food is made with genuine care. The French Onion soup was absolutely incredible--easily some of the best I've ever had. The only thing I missed out on was the Coquilles Saint-Jacques au Gratin; the photos of that dish look amazing, and I can't wait till I can try it on me of these days but it wasn't available during my visit. Our neighbor is always scouting for new restaurants to try. She found Bacquet's and she and her husband invited my wife and I plus two other couples to join them. Reservations were made. Bacquet's is a French restaurant, located closer the east end of State St. in Eagle, at the corner of State and Hill. There is a very nice patio area as well as the indoor dining area. The inside is nicely decorated with paintings and movie posters, for example, Casablanca. The tables have nice tablecloths and, of course, cloth napkins. It was a hot day so we sat indoors. Our server was a very nice female brunette. I'm sorry that I did not ask her for her name. She explained the menu and the specials, and took excellent care of us. One thing she emphasized was that she would not rush us. The entree would not be started until after we received our appetizers. We were to have a fine dining experience. A bottle of wine was ordered. Appetizers included the Ocean Flatbread, with prawns and scallops as toppers, and the Porcini Purses with Wild Mushrooms. They also served up a tasty bread, with whipped butter. For the entrees, my wife and I had the Prawn Aglio e Olio, a pappardelle pasta dish with Black Tiger Prawns, garlic, and red pepper flakes, tossed in olive oil, which brought a little heat. Others also got this dish, while others ordered the veal piccata. All of the food was delicious, and, again, the service was excellent. They did not rush us, to the point where we arrived at 6pm, and stayed until after 9pm, when they close at 8pm. So, they were very gracious in allowing us our time. Bacquet's in not inexpensive, so some may want to reserve their visit for a special occasion. However, I highly recommend this establishment. I was a wonderful experience! read more

This is now the third time we have made reservations and preordered our meals on their site to show up and hear the server say "oh I'm sorry we're sold out". Tonight the excuse was "sorry if WE had read the reservation WE would have known... our fault HA HA ". "We do have another entree." The server was kind of a twit. Well that is not what we reserved nor what we wanted so we left. The food isn't that great anyway. For restaurant that constantly emails customers to come eat and provides a way to reserve meals then fails over and over. I will never go back and I'm unsubscribed. Best dinner in years!! My husband and I went here for our 30th Anniversary and WOW it was AMAZING! The FOOD was exquisite. I love filet mignon and this was literally the best filet I have ever had!! The flavor and green pepper brandy sauce was delicious. It had a slight outer charred texture and the inside was melt in your mouth butter! Speaking of bread and butter, they serve the fresh butter in a scallop shell! The attention to detail and exquisite food along with intoxicating music and decor, along with the most adorable attentive servers- Casey and Savannah are unforgettable! We moved away ten years ago and haven't eaten there since; my husband's birthday was a few days ago so I decided to surprise him and celebrate his birthday here. We flew in Wednesday morning, had dinner that night and flew out Thursday afternoon. The food is still just as amazing as I remembered it!! The restaurant had moved since we were there last and I loved the new location and decor. The service was amazing and I love that it is European style. The table is yours for the evening. No one is rushing you and you ask for the check when you are ready!! We started with escargot, which is to die for; so buttery and delicious. I had the Duck Legs and my husband had the Lamb. I've been for lunch and dinner many times, but I've never written a review. The food is always amazing, and the service is great, very attentive but never overbearing. We had friends stop in on their way through and we had an impromptu late lunch. We had croque madame, duck confit, beef stroganoff, and French dip. It was all delicious. We loved every minute of this experience! We were greeted by Michelle Bacquet, the owner. She was charming and so sweet. We mentioned it was our first time visiting and they really rolled out the red carpet from there. We met our waiter at the bar and he helps us choose a glass of wine. I enjoyed a chilled glass of Vouvray and my husband loved his glass of Les Janelle Cabernet Sauvignon. They were offering a Prime Rib and the Veal Saltimbocca as their specials. I got the Veal which was presented with fresh mozzarella and crisped prosciutto in a lemon sauce with a side of handmade fettuccini noodles and cooked asparagus and carrot. I was wowed by the flavor of this sauce and was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of veal offered on the plate! Definitely worth the price, I was so full. My husband enjoyed their Duck Confit which was cooked in a red wine base, served with Au gratin potatoes and cooked asparagus and carrots. He also had a generous helping of duck that included a thigh and a drumstick, well worth the price for us. I had a salad (not pictured) and loved the balsamic on top, it was sweet and did not overpower the dressing. We also had the Porcini Purses which were served hot and they were delicious and also had dabs of balsamic for us to indulge in. Lastly we had the chocolate mousse to share and it was very airy and tasted like a rich chocolate Ghirardelli brownie but in a light pudding texture. We loved it! My husband and I both adore this place. The food is excellent, well prepared, and presented. It's a cute little French place. It's a bit pricy, but trust me, it's worth every penny. There's a nice ambiance in the restaurant. It's kind of divided into two areas. It seems one side is more for those interested in listening to live music, large groups, etc., while the other side is a bit more intimate. We've dined here a few times, but we've also ordered pick-up a few times, too, often for lunch. And, speaking of lunch, their clam chowder is non-traditional and unexpected, but in the best way. I would say it's one of the most delicious I've ever had and I've had a LOT of chowder in my days! As for eating in, we've ordered the prime rib (melt in your mouth level), seafood flatbread (yes, seafood flatbread - decadent!), the scallops (yes please), French onion soup (lovely and warming - my hubs fave), and a few other nibbles. PS - the service is awesome. They check on you, are courteous and polite. Always on top of everything and double-checking that you're pleased with their service and food. It feels good to be treated so well. I appreciate the staff, chef, and all of their hard work. The layers of flavors in their food, the slow simmers, and long roast times are all much appreciated. I whole-heartedly recommend this place for any special occasion, date night, small gathering, or just an extra special lunch (which is always served with a small baguette and salad). We usually try a different main dish each time and have never been disappointed. Chef Franck and his wife Michelle are very hospitable and accommodating, once inviting us into his kitchen to observe the preparation of fresh Maine Lobster. Bacquet's is a charming little French restaurant in Eagle with lots of personality. I recently visited the restaurant and enjoyed it so much I returned a second time. The first time I indulged in the Hereford Ribeye and it was unforgettably delicious. The second time I tried the Lobster Stuffed Croque Madame which was a Mother's Day weekend special. The Chef recommended pairing it with a White Bordeaux which was perfection! Both meals provided plenty of leftovers. I love that Bacquet's hours accommodate a late lunch or early dinner. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, if they aren't sure of something they find out. I appreciate that Bacquet's allows customers to fully enjoy their meals and there is no rush. Bacquet's has a nice sized patio and now that I receive email updates I found out that they sometimes feature live music. What's not to love!!! read more

What can I say beyond SIMPLY FANTASTIC! I live in Salt Lake City. I travel to Boise about every 45-90 days. I do so mainly to eat at Bacquets. Yes, we drive 350 miles each way to go to dinner at Bacquets. I have traveled the world extensively. I love French food. I love escargot. Now, my wife's escargot is the best in the world. Che MuthaFuckah Franck's are second best. Every time we go, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is amazing, when there has been live music it fit the ambience perfectly. I always look forward to heating the specials. Last visit I had the veal saltimbocca, which was the special. It did not disappoint as it stayed in line with the excellence of everything Franck does. Two visits ago I was there to enjoy the Clam Chowder....sheesh, I'm picky about Clam Chowder. It was the best I've had. 3 days after my Mom died in September of 2022, my Dad flew in from Montana, I rode in from Salt Lake City, and my wife flew in from Colorado, JUST so we could have dinner and a bottle of Rosè Dom Perignon. It would have been the perfect meal for my Mom. Ok, I'm rambling. Bacquets is in the top 5 best restaurants, not in Boise, but the world. Go there now. You will feel like family. Deeply impressed from the moment we walked in. We haven't been to Bacquets since well before the pandemic (years). The place expanded and looks amazing. It's like walking in a French restaurant on the Champs de Laison. From the moment we walked in we were greeted fast and service was impeccable. Often 2 waiters and the owner would check on us. We had both specialties: a seafood pasta served and a seared sole with potatoes and veggies. The service I can't say enough of. I haven't had service like this in Eagle, in Boise, hell even through the PNW as I lived in Seattle. This is the best restaurant in Eagle for fine dining... full stop. They out do a lot of existing and failed restaurants: Coynes. Crave, Bella Aquila, even Barbacoa. My parents selected Bacquet's while visiting. This French restaurant was okay overall. The decor feels a bit overdone and dated, which takes away from the ambiance rather than adding to it. The food was fine--nothing particularly memorable or standout, but not bad either. Service was on the slow side, though not unfriendly. The wine selection is decent and pairs well with the menu, but note that there's no full bar. If you're in the area and craving French cuisine, it might do the trick, but it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. read more
