I've been going to the Rockefeller Center location for a couple of years since it's close to my office and the pizza is bomb. I was in the neighborhood enjoying some beers at Test (very cool place) and decided to pick up a pizza from here on my way home. I placed the order online and came about 10 min after the estimated pick up time. When I arrived, it didn't seem anyone was available to attend to patrons except the person working behind the bar. Another patron walks in behind me, who appears to be a good friend of the bartender because the bartender proceeds to talk to this other person for about 5 minutes before even acknowledging me so I can inform her I have a pickup order. The pizza was great (hence the 2 stars), but the service left a terrible taste in my mouth. read more

The people are really nice. Parking is hard but I was able to find a spot on the corner adjacent to the restaurant. The pizza is supposed to beDetroit style; however, it did not have the sauce on the top like I'm used to when I buy pizzas in Detroit. However, l loved the bread. My daughter and I stopped by here on a visit to several pizza locations in Williamsburg. The detroit style wasn't my thing. It had a fair amount of spongy dough, and the cheese on the edges has a bit of crisp. I can see why some people might love it, but for me, I'd just stick with a thinner NY-style pie. read more

What a nostalgia trip! This is clearly a pizzeria stuck between the years 1994 and 1997, from the board games, to the video games, to the VHS tapes lingering around the restaurants, to the punk and grunge music that defined a generation. Gen Z and Gen X would have no place for this pizzeria, as they would not get it. Only Millennials would get it. In fact, I am listening to Green Day's, "Longview" as I am writing this review to get myself in character for this review. The pizza, which is Detroit-style, is reminiscent of how most Millennials remember their elementary school square pizza. Sweet, with a slight acidic taste that leaves you still tasting the food long after the L train has left Bedford Ave. The cheese and crust scream also school lunch, but on a bigger and better scale. Their dough is just right , the edges burned correctly and their ingredients fresh and flavorable. Whatever toppings you get you wouldn't be wrong , I took the full cheese , mushrooms and pepper trio ,all were fantastic ! Seems like a cool place for pizza night out . Biased because I'm a fan of Detroit pizza - this is a very solid place to get your 'za fix. The crust is crispy, but won't hurt the roof of your mouth. I came in here at the end of my New York trip looking to get one more slice of New York pizza. Now let me say when I came in I was a bit disappointed because this is not your thin foldable New York slice but Detroit style, thick squares. Now that aside I will say that it is one of, if not the best, Detroit style slices I've had. The location is small and only has standing counter along the one wall. I would say that the majority of this location business would be carry out which makes sense. My dining partner and I ended up getting two slices of pepperoni each which they were more than happy to put in a box instead of the standard paper plate as we were afraid we would drop it on our way through the halls of Rockefeller Center. The pizza itself was very satisfying. First, even though it wasn't a New York slice, they kept with the very large pizza slices which the city is known for. Each slice was actually cut in two so it was more like having four pieces of pizza. The sauce was perfectly sweet and flavorful. I would actually call it the star of the pizza but the runner-up would definitely be the crust which was pillowy in the middle but crunchy on the outside. The pepperoni and cheese were top quality and held their own against all that bread. Overall if I found myself in Rockefeller Center again I would definitely go back. First off the vintage decor was awesome! The box TV playing classic 80-90s VHS stole my heart. Photos of Beavis & Butt-head, old school cups and complimentary vintage candies were just some of the things that stuck out. The staff was very kind and welcoming. 3 different staff members asked if I was being helped. We were in a bit of a rush so we had to take the food to go. We will def dine in next time. Pizza comes out on a nice tray with that red plaid food napkin like we were eating at The Max (Saved by The Bell). The food itself was really good. I ordered a personal pepperoni, my wife ordered a personal supreme, and 6 chicken wings. The pepperoni was salty (not in a bad way) with nice spice and crunch. The pizza crust was perfect. My wife's pizza was a little burned around the edges but I guess that happens from time to time. I would def recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid deep dish pizza. i loooove aces if they have 0 fans i'm no longer on this earth. if you want a casual, friendly, chill, and filling dinner, CHECK OUT ACES. their pizza is so solid, super cheesy and saucy and the flavors are all really good. stopped by pre yankees game last night and we tried the supreme this visit. (although i've also tried the burrata one and that's also fire.) the supreme was delicious. if you get the second smallest size, i think it's fine for 2 people if you guys aren't terribly hungry. i can lowkey eat but my dinner companion had difficulties after his third slice. we got that and the cheesy bread, jalapeño and hot honey. be warned that the cheesy bread is about the same size as the 1-2 person pizzas. it was pretty good but next time i would try another flavor of it. they were pretty generous with the hot honey on it though. drinks wise got a cider, a beer, and a couple pickle backs. their pickle backs are really cheap and the pickle juice certainly tastes like the price but still not horrific, just not my fave flavor profile of pickle juice. can't hate too hard for 6 bucks. will definitely come to aces again thanks for another great detroit style pizza moment read more

Got the personal pizza with pepperoni late on a Wednesday night. Took 10 minutes for them to make a fresh pizza.. But omg I was blown away by how good the pizza was. It was suuuuper thick and the sauce was delicious. It was like a supreme version of Pizza Hut. The waitress also said that all the different pizza toppings were good so I have to try them all now.
