    Hellboy slice and Pepperoni slice

Solid slices! Paulie Gee's has been on my list for many years. This part of Greenpoint isn't always my favorite place to visit given the limited parking. Folks in the neighborhood also generally lack common decency in terms of parking their vehicle but I digress. Let's focus on my experience at Paulie Gee's. There was a bit of a wait outside in the blustery cold, a delayed opening, which would have been nice to communicate when I inadvertently walked in earlier. As it stood, a few of us waited outside to get in well after general opening time. The pizza was solid, no drippy or droopy slices here. Pepperoni slices were loaded, the hot honey drizzle was solid as well. My favorite was the sausage, which was thinly sliced and layered optimally for a bite of sausage in each bite. The dining room area was clean and well attended to. It is clear they like the Yankees here, so much so that classic games are on a few of the flat screens on repeat. Make sure you pledge your allegiance to (or hide) properly. LOL. My ordered slices came promptly and most importantly, hot at my table. Tables were properly staffed with the necessary spices; pepper, oregano, and garlic along with napkins.

I would and will come back time and time again... Pauline Gee's is SOOOOOO good!! Never misses.

Brilliant pizzas in the area. Their Vegan selection was very delicious and their pre-crafted Pizzas are packed with flavor. The Daniella, Vegan Freddie, Cheese Pizza, Sausage Pizza is what we tried. Most slices in the $5.25 range. Even the Marinara sauce used on the cheese slice was punchy with a nice garlicy note! Quick service, good seating area set-up and they were also serving draught beer. Noise levels were on the average end. Yankee fans too!

So my partner used to love pizza from Paulie Gee's, so we made it a stop on our pizza crawl. We ordered A cheese slice ($4.25) and Sicilian hellboy ($6). Unfortunately, the it was nowhere near how good it used to be. The slices were on the small side and the taste was very mediocre. The only positives I can say about the pizza compared to other places is that they are very generous with the hot honey. There were 2 bathrooms in the back, a lot of tables for seating, TVs playing cartoons or sports.

This is my first time trying their slice shop location! I really like the old 80s vibes in here. All of the slices are very good. My boyfriend and I were originally trying to go to their sit down restaurant around the corner but they're closed for renovations. Luckily this was open!

An ok pizza spot! I tried the cheese slice, the hellboy slice and daniella's (spinach). My favorite was the cheese slice. A little bit burnt in the bottom, in my opinion. They have a lot of tables to sit in the back where you can order wine and beer as well. The restaurant is pretty cool, 80's vibes. Staff were not that friendly.

Hellboy Slice. Good but needed more cheese IMO. My Brother loved it...his favorite slice of the day!

My Brother and I were going to try out as many pizza places as we could on our drive through the city. Paulie Gee's was our 3rd top. We went with a slice of the Hellboy Square. Thick square slice of pizza with cup and curl pepperoni and then drizzled in hot honey. I liked it, all the ingredients were good, but I needed more cheese. My Brother loved it and said it was his favorite slice of the day. Would definitely come back!

Rating: 6.5/10 Date Last Visited: 9/6/2025 I ordered a Hellboy Squared slice ($6). The slice itself was decent, didn't feel special but it was still good. I liked the combination of hot honey on the pepperoni, but the pizza itself had too much crust, maybe because we got corner pieces. The crust itself was good, crispy but not overcooked. I wish there was a bit more cheese. Also, the searing area was a bit dirty. Service at the front was good. Overall, this is a pretty good pizza slice but there's too much pizza competition in New York.

Visited this pizza shop Saturday night and got the classic cheese, Hell Boy, and Daniella's. The undercarriage was toasted great and each slice had delicious toppings. The Hellboy had pepperoni and hot honey which was good but not amazing. The spinach slice was okay and the cheese slice was simple but the tastiest. Worth trying if you're in the area but was not impressed. The worker at the cash register was not too friendly and we waited a while to order beers in the back which was $7 for a draft house lager which was a good deal. Cool retro vibe inside with old school booths, chairs, and decorations.

Now, I am normally a thin slice gal. But the square slice here truly blew me away. Freddy prinze (the square slice at the top): 10/10 the crust was delightfully crunchy and the tomato sauce was amazing. I'd get this again and again Spinach slice: 7/10 good! Nothing crazy Hellboy (bottom right): 8/10 it's pepperoni topped with hot honey, how can I complain? You order at the counter and then sit down and wait for them to call you. Decently sized interior with ample seating.

I ordered the Hellboy pizza (triangle), and it was delicious. The hot honey complimentee well with the tomato sauce and the overall flavors perfectly. My only feedback from this visit is that the inside of the restaurant was quite dirty.. the tables & floors were cluttered with trash. If the cleanliness had been up to standard, it would've easily been a five-star experience. Overall, I still recommend stopping by to try their pizza.

Solid pizza spot! The white pizza slice was my favorite with garlic and spinach. They're known for their square slices but it wasn't crispy enough and I didn't think it was anything special. The pepperoni is crispy and VERY good. I'll be back for a white slice and a thin pepperoni slice! The beers typically come with your pizza but the host was kind enough to give it to us while we wait. Busy at 10 pm on a Saturday.

I got the vodka slice and a plain slice. The vodka sauce was great but the slice itself was just ok. $11 for 2 slices and a Diet Coke is always wild. The plain slice was solid though. The vibe of the shop was cool. Brought me back to the 90s

Came here in the past and always a line out the door so didn't bother. Finally had a chance to try yesterday for late lunch with a friend when there were many empty tables inside, so no line and no waiting. We ordered a medium Margarita based pizza with pepperoni & roasted peppers toppings. We were really surprisd the pizza came out in less than 5 minutes after waiter served us our drink order. Upon biting into it, right away what popped up in my head is 'why is the pizza crust so soggy?' Maybe the knife & fork on the table should've been a dead give away. One saving Grace is the sauce does have a sweetness to it, not tangy like some other famous shop in the Village. And also the 2 toppings were tasty enough to save this dining experice. Before leaving the restaurant, asked our waiter about the crust, he said since restaurant wasn't busy, the kitchen had already pre-made the pizzas, so it was just a matter of heating it and bring it out, hence the fast service. Pro-tip: next time (a big if for this reviewer), one must ask the crust be 'well-done,' in order to get its texture to the desired degree of cripiness that one should expect from what should have been an iconic pizza place in NYC.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Flavor was good tho and if you like thin pizza this is the one. The crust was pretty bland, table next to us didn't even eat the crust. Also got the straigatella with bread. Basically cheese and bread. The bread was the highlight of the day, better than the pizza.

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Their pizza is SOOO perfectly crisp and charred, and actually is one of the closest pizzas that reminds me of the famous originals in Napoli.

Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.

So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. We shared several appetizers, including meatballs, a margarita, pizza, bake clams, and spicy shrimp. All were delicious. I had a seafood pasta with squid ink that was memorable. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Frankly, I think the prices were cheaper than what I pay in Austin area, and the food and venue were authentic and much better than in Texas!

Patsy's Pizzeria delivers where it matters most: the food. I stopped in with a party of three…read morearound 430pm. The Margherita pizza was perfect. Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
