ATTENTION SODASTREAMers and LOVERS of all things bubbly! Save money by filling up a CO2 tank here instead of buying the CO2 refill bottles! Basically, Google "how to refill sodastream co2 bottles" and you will be able to refill your CO2 bottles at home instead of buying the pricey refill bottles. I bought a CO2 tank and CO2 refill adapter off Amazon. Then, I brought the CO2 tank (5lbs) into Acme to get it filled with CO2. With tax, it was $27. I look forward to refilling many bottles at that price. The place is small and simple. With COVID, only 1 customer inside at a time. I brought the tank in and was told to pick it up two days later. It feels like a very small family business, but it seems like they're busy because you can't walk away with the filled tank right away - you have to come back. They fill tanks at a certain time everyday and they can either slot you in for the next day or the next? It probably depends on how busy they are. If you want, you can call in advance to see when you would get the tank back. read more

I have used this company for years, and I don't know if they changed owners, but they have changed. I was called to have my extinguishers serviced. I hadn't gotten back to them but someone showed up at my home unannounced and somehow got into my locked gate. They went back into my basement and found one extinguisher there and serviced that and they found a tenant of mine doing laundry and got their extinguisher so a total of 2. They did not access my extinguisher or my other tenant's, who was away and confirmed she didn't give them hers. Then I got a bill for 4 extinguishers being serviced. I called them and was upset that they had come onto my property and then overcharged me. They said I had set up the appointment, but there is no way, as I had to arrange with the tenants to get their extinguishers before. I have text messages from them, too, without a response from me. They told me they'd take care of the bill and I would not have to pay. Now I have received two notices that my account is overdue for servicing 4 extinguishers. I called them again today to rectify it in a respectful way, and I was told my original call was on speaker and everyone heard it (without my knowledge) and not to contact them again and hung up on me. Very disappointing. Very rude. And they are not doing what they said. read more

I've had excellent, quick service from Acme Fire Extinguisher on hydrotesting my oxygen cylinders. Discharge all the pressure from the cylinder before transporting. Fees: 1-20 cubic foot cylinder $21; 20-50 cubic foot cylinder $35. Larger - negotiable. Service is typically 24 hour... drop off at 3PM, pick up at 3PM the next day. They're open Monday through Friday 8:30-5. If you have exact change in cash, you won't have to wait for someone to come from the back who knows how to use the credit card machine. If you're arriving from the west on Fruitvale, turn left on to East 13th Street and park in the green zone; this allows you enough time to drop off or pick up your cylinders for hydrotest. They have all the stickers and warning stuff and cabinets for fire extinguishers you might mount at work. They do corporate training on how to use them so think about that. Finally, you might also check in with your neighbors before you head down. Ask them to check the tags and the gauges on their extinguishers right now and offer to save them the trip.
