thought i would never write a review about fire extinguisher.. but, had to get one, it had to have a one year exp date, it had to standard etc. this place is really old school they have been doing this forever and they are the only one of its kind in Oakland, family owned, fast friendly and smart, i was in and out in less than five minutes and i really enjoyed the old posters and brick a brack there.. if you need a fire extinguisher go there, prices are reasonable and you are supporting local jobs and a family business read more

I had to buy some extinguishers and cabinets for my job. I called several places and Acme was the most helpful over the phone and carried everything I was looking for at very competitive prices. 2 weeks later I realized I didn't need one of the cabinets and they gladly took them back and refunded me the cost. I've needed to refill/replace home extinguishers for way too long (since I can only come by during hours that they're open for business but my boss isn't). Finally made it this morning, the guy explained clearly why two of the extinguishers made sense to refill, and the third to replace, and offered to have them ready in an hour, rather than next week. Acme has has been servicing fire extinguishers for me over the past ten years. I manage three buildings and have 12 extinguishers that need to be serviced annually. Acme has sent out one of their mobile service guys to do the service on site. Both Norris and Jessie have always been prompt, efficient and prepared. If an extinguisher needs to be hydrostatically tested they will exchange it on site. The shop is a shop, not a boutique. They have the parts, knowledge and experience to handle all my fire extinguisher needs. read more

Convenient location, nice folks. They offered me one-day refill on my fire extinguisher - faster than I could even come back to pick it up.

Very poor service. Do not use. In response to a written request from the Contra Costa fire department to service external fire extinguishers, I called Acme to service my external fire extinguishers on my rental property in the east bay. I was busy at work and could not meet the technician. The tech called me and said he could do the job me or being there. He called me back and said the job was completed, doe and that heh will bill me. Thinking the job was done I contacted the fire inspector and informed that the deficiency was corrected. The inspector inspected the extinguishers called me back the following week telling the tags on the extinguishers were not marked and they need to be filled. I called Acme notifying them of the problem. Whoever I spoke to said they would contact the technician. They never got back to me. I had to call them back and the operator said he would get in touch with the tech. Who said the job was done. They invoiced me for a job that was not done properly. I had to use another company to service the extinguishers. read more
