One of the worst places I've ever gone to pick up an order. I arrived early for an Uber pickup -- the order was already ready, but they made me wait 20 minutes because the person in charge wasn't there. When she finally arrived, she was extremely rude, didn't respond to my greeting, and literally threw the bags into the cart as if she hated her job. I would like to acknowledge the female pharmacist on duty at Acme Wellington Avenue yesterday.My wife had fall on the ice the day before breaking her ankle.Her doctor had wrote out a prescription for pain medicine. I taken the prescription to Walgreens on Sovereign Ave., Atlantic City and they said it would be ready in two hours. When I went back to pick it they informed me that somebody had already picked up my prescription at another pharmacy but could not tell me the location where it was picked up.I request that they return the written prescription.Started to panic, knowing that my wife was in pain and it somehow her prescription was given out to somebody else. It's apparently somebody scamming the pain medicine. And desperation, I drove over to Acme pharmacy in ventor where i encountered this female pharmacist who calm me down and started to investigate and try to get this corrected. She spent about an hour calling Walgreens, corporate insurance company and explain the situation. She's finally was able to get my wife's insurance company to cancel any payment for the pain medicine we never received. She was able to fill the prescription for my wife.She was a true professional and a angel.The company should be proud that they have such a compassionate person working for them.I am changing pharmacies to Acme were I know I'll be in good hands read more

Anyone who buys from this store keep in mind you have 30 days to return and even then you don't get your money back just a credit. I couldn't get anything so I'm stuck with a wallet my nephew couldn't use. Like this company couldn't afford to give me even a credit! Never again!!!! read more

Literally 2 days after buying fruit mold was growing on it. Disgusting. This is unfortunately not the first time this happened. The expiration dates are often off/wrong at this location. This is probably the WORST Acme I have ever been to. Not sure if they think because they are the closest large supermarket to AC/Ventnor/Margate that they can sell food like this. In addition, 90 percent of the employees are disgruntled, nasty and unprofessional. Openly, loudly complaining about their jobs. The day I was there they had 2 cashiers. The self check out constantly malfunctions and there is never a Manager to fix it quickly. I had quite a few items and the elderly male cashier didn't speak, just pointed to the other cashier who had a huge line. Mind you...his light was on. It wasn't a 10 items or less situation.He was checking other customers out. But they had less items. He was just LAZY....So lazy that he couldn't even politely ask me to go to the other line. But he then proceeded to bitch and complain about his job and how he was going to "call the union". The older female cashier was trying to shush him and he was making a scene. I think it's a shame that the ACME supermarket is so much more expensive to shop for food then ShopRite. But this not the only reason why I decided to write this review. Starting in January, ShopRite will be charging for plastic bags as ACME has already been doing. This is based on progressive politics. But the costs of food at ACME markets is still more expensive. We can't blame the union that protects employees at ACME for the price of food at ACME since the people who work at ShopRite are members of the same union. I use plastic shopping bags from the supermarket for various things, not just once. I notice that Governor Murphy and progressive State Reps aren't going after the companies that sell bottled water. Plastic bottles used for bottled water are a major problem. I'm not one of those extremists when it comes to the environment but it's time for a change. There are plenty of reusable cups that can be used to keep water fresh and cold. There are filtered water products on the market that attach to your kitchen faucet or water pitcher. My reason for writing is to address the issues that not only lead to higher costs of shopping but alternatives that can save money while also protecting our environment that we choose to do. read more

If you are trying to practice correct social distancing avoid this store! I'm a Type1 diabetic and walked past customers and employees alike walking against the posted arrows on the floor. Watched a customer with his mask under his chin come down the aisle the wrong way and cough as he was selecting an item. An ACME worker then walked the wrong way past him and didn't even say a word. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars in this store only to be treated with utter disrespect by the older white man with a beard and glasses who is supposed to help with the self check out (today he was wearing his superhero red shirt.) Very disrespectful and unprofessional! Only three lanes were open and they were packed with customers. Instead of trying to manage the flow, groups of people were left stuck in the lanes and in the walkways and social distancing went completely out the window. (People were on top of each other!) This same self checkout employee (who is ALWAYS disrespectful) didn't care that I was trying to check out in the self check out due to the overcrowding in the lanes and shut the terminal down and flexed his supermarket muscles by calling for the manager (who was literally a few feet away from him) over the PA system. Funny how after my family and I went back to the lanes, that had died down by this point, we checked out and passed Mr. Supermarket Hero who was helping a white woman (I happen to be black) and she had been at the terminal much longer than it took us to move and check out at a lane. Guess you earn brownie points with him if you are the right color as well. The store is in such sad shape and it won't be too much longer before cases of COVID hit Ventnor due to the lack of oversight here. Looks like my family and I will need to venture farther out for simple respect and safety. I would suggest you and your family do the same. read more

Store is convenient to those of us renting a beach house in AC. But the convenience of the location is outweighed by the staff, who seem to use their work time as social hour. Deli line was long and SLOW moving-- almost entirely because the employees were laughing and talking with each other rather than concentrating on customers' orders. So I just want to start with Acme as a corporation is absolutely a rip off. I can get the items I buy at Acme at ShopRite or Walmart for half off. Although living on the island makes it pretty convenient. So today around 1 o'clock in the afternoon I finished shopping at Acme while in self check out line there was people waiting with more than 15 items or less in their carts. Now I go to check out my items the woman who was working the self check out was the most ignorant woman and most miserable person on earth. This woman was lecturing me on not knowing how to ring up the scallions that I bought. Then I needed to bring all my items up with her because I did not have my card on me but I did have my card number and the proof of my name on that card. So this young manager comes over and he tells her what to do and I told him I wanted to speak to him about this old woman's personality and horrible social skills along with customer skills. They have updated the checKout issue and now have the self checkout stations. Huge improvement. You still see some expired items on the shelves/ freezer, but it does the job when the next closest supermarket is 20 minutes away. read more

This is an update to the review I wrote in 2016 on Acme in Ventnor NJ. Today I am truly impressed with the store. Bright lighting when you enter the store, all Shelves are Fully Stocked all hours of the day, Products look Fresh, no bent or crushed boxes. Always good sales which is how I have to buy anymore. Some items are so high priced that I just won't buy them anymore. The staff is friendly and helpful. I returned a bag of salad that went bad before it's date and the y gave me my money back and a free bag for the inconvenience which I thought was very fair. You guys have like, 17 registers and only ever 2-4 cashiers. You're operating in a beach town that is swamped in the summer. Hire more people, I beg you. This is never an in and out experience, it's like a half hour to an hour of my time to run in for one item. read more

Incompetent!!!... the staff here are a few IQ points short of the average human being... 2 managers and 2 cashiers couldn't figure out how to cash a coin star receipt.... I sat around 20 min with my food, trying to pay them... If there not high on something, they sure know how to play the part... or better yet they need to get on it read more

Although the prices are a little high, I do appreciate the friendly service and the helpful staff there. The shelves are always well stocked, and the place is always clean. The manager is always visible and always willing to help. This is a good store. read more

This is a large size Acme with all your food shopping needs. Friendly staff. Fully stocked shelves...what else do you need?

Other Acme locations are better. This one ranks last. Don't cater to the local or summer crowd enough. Some food items are excellent.

17 checkout lanes built but only 2 are open. The people who work here are nice but there never seems to be enough of them in the place.

Ever since acme took over from pathmark the store is cleaner brighter n manager Lisa is wonderful so is Kelly and Kara. It's a pleasure to go there everyone is so helpful and courteous read more
