I went here for lunch with a friend today. I've been wanting to go for a while and was finally able to go while they were open. I'm so glad we went because this place is wonderful! We got a table pretty much immediately. We sat outside, initially at a table right by the wall. We could smell the dumpster so it wasn't great, but once another table opened we were offered the option to move and we took it. The new table was much better - no smell and it was next to a heater so it was nice and cozy. The outdoor patio is pretty cute and the fresh air was nice! I have a soy allergy so I had to ask the waitress for an allergen list to make sure I would be okay. They were very nice and accommodating and told me what was and wasn't safe to eat. I ended up getting the focaccia with white bean paste, something I was skeptical of but really liked! The bread was super delicious and the bean paste was well-seasoned. The little slice of lemon it came with was a great topper for it all too. I would definitely get it again! I also got the sparkling lavender lemonade and it was so so good. It was perfectly balanced and I couldn't stop drinking it. The food was all pretty affordable which I appreciated. Lunch and drinks for two people was about $35. They don't do tipping here, they actually pay their employees a livable wage which is fantastic. They have a pay it forward program you can donate cash to instead, it goes towards breakfast for people in need. The employees seemed happy and were very friendly. They seemed to really enjoy working here which is always a good sign. I will definitely be back here. The people are friendly and the food is delicious. I ordered an unsweetened dirty chai with oat milk to go, but I received a sweetened drink instead. After walking to my car and taking a sip, I realized the mistake. Because I am sensitive to sugar and must limit my daily intake, I could not drink it. However, I hate seeing things go to waste and planned to give the incorrect drink to a family member or friend.My partner kindly offered to run back inside to ask for a remake. When he did, a female staff member took the incorrect drink from him and immediately discarded it without asking if he wanted to keep it. To make matters worse, she smirked and told him, "Next time, tell your lady to order it unsweetened." I want to be clear: I did explicitly order it unsweetened, and the male server confirmed it with me when I paid.The overall energy in this building was incredibly passive-aggressive. As a fellow food service worker, I find this level of disrespect completely unacceptable. No customer should be treated this way. First time back to Acorn in a long while for our first dining experience here. Food is still high quality, fresh, & pretty darn good, though still lacking in any significant level of protein besides mushrooms. Basically carbs & fat w/ some fresh veggies. Service needs serious rethinking. It's way too clunky & strange for how quality the food is. At first it felt like we were at a regular high quality restaurant that had regular service/servers that want to work for tips. But then it just totally fell apart a third of the way through. The first round of drinks/appetizers were ordered at the table & brought to us, as expected, along with a bottle of wine, but then, NO CHECK BACK on how things were going. My wife & I sat & drank wine for about 20-30 minutes after apps were done before the "server" came by to ask if we wanted dessert, totally having forgotten we ordered entrees when we ordered appetizers. We were the only table in the restaurant eating so no good excuses. And no apologies for that matter. Entrees came quickly after that. Again, NO CHECK BACK on how things were going. I had to go inside to the counter to get another entree ordered as well as our desserts, since by then they were trying to close. Desserts came out WITH the final entree. Again, NO CHECK BACK. Sat for 10 more minutes waiting for the check & a box. Had to whistle for the "server" just to get him to look at us. He then quite rudely threw a box down and told us we had to pay inside at the counter & walked away quickly. No apologies for the lousy service & messups. No itemized receipt or proper stapled to go bag for the unfinished wine. No comps even though we waited around for quite a long while twiddling our thumbs. Oh, that's right, the "server" can't accept tips... It all starts to make sense. None of this silliness is communicated by anyone when you sit down. Love the food. The owners are nice enough, however I don't really feel welcome here, unfortunately. Not sure if we'll be back. Hope they can figure this out. The food is so good it's a shame the "service" & attitude makes it hard to digest. One last thing... the patio could be next level ambiance, for Eugene anyways, minus the tinnitus-like hum that emanates nonstop from the storage fridge that is out there next to the kitchen. Once you notice it, it's hard to not hear it the entire meal. Some music to cover it up would be a plus. read more

This is our favorite vegan restaurant in town. I love that they make everything from scratch, right down to the butter and pasta. The menu always has something interesting. The food is fresh and delicious. They also make the very best cakes in town. Forget Sweet Life! Acorns cakes are moist and delicious and not overly sweet. We went here twice recently for dinner and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite "nice" places to grab dinner. They're perfect for a date night but casual enough to hang with friends. Everything is vegan/plant-based and everything seems to be scratch-made. The biscuits and mushroom gravy are the absolute best. My daughter loves them (as do I). They're served all day. Recently I got to try gnocchi with a squash/pumpkin sauce and homemade pasta with a creamy sauce and artichokes (not the jarred ones). I also got to taste the green lasagna (made with almond ricotta) and the polenta topped with veggies, crispy white beans, and a pistachio green olive sauce. So many delicious flavors and sauces on everything! I also have to sing the praises of the drink choices. I love their Olive Sour. One of the best cocktails I have had in a while. I also took a taste of the bourbon-based Golden Hour and it was delicious as well. My dad loved the red wine option and there are nice mocktail options available. It's a small place so it's tricky to get a seat inside but they do have a cute patio outside that is great in the summer. They don't take tips and encourage you to pay it forward. Lovely lunch! I am really digging this patio. The food is delicious and nourishing. The vibe is casual but also quite romantic. The Spring Potato Hash was perfectly cooked with tasty charred onions and greens topped with a tasty dill sauce. The herbs in the sauce and soup were perfectly complimentary flavors, just the right amount. Also enjoyed Carrot Soup and a very delicious flaky biscuit. Acorn is an ideal place to meetup with friends. Looks like a they have great cocktails and wine too! This cute little cafe serves up vegan fare the old school way, no mock meats or processed junk, just whole foods and fresh ingredients. First we started with chai lattes, which were warm, creamy, spiced and satisfying, Next we ordered up some breakfast! The hash was seasoned just right with a balance of savory and herby, while the individual ingredients shined through. We added the foraged mushrooms and I highly recommend doing so! We also snagged a plate of banana pancakes! Being gluten-free, they are different from traditional flour pancakes, but dare I say I enjoyed them more? They were still fluffy and light but had this substance to them, allowing them to soak up the maple syrup and create an absolutely mouthwatering bite. Along with the food being great, the service was great too. In addition, they have a pay it forward meal program where they utilize all tip money to provide meals to those in need. They do a lot of social justice work providing free meals to the homeless. Kudos for using local produce and dry goods from local farms along with Hummingbird Wholesale. There is a unique policy here where you can't tip yet you can pay it forward to make a dana aka donation to pay for someone else's meal in various dollar amounts. Service is non-existent. Don't purchase a gift card via their website. On 9/26/2025, I purchased a $50 gift card from their website for my sister's birthday and she never received it. I've emailed them on 9/28 and have yet to receive a response. I've called and left a voicemail, still no response. Now when I call, I'm getting the "call cannot be completed as dialed" recording. I live out of state so I cannot just pop over and speak to someone either. Going to have to report it as fraud with my bank. Super disappointing as my sister loved this place. I could write a whole essay of why I love this place but in short...Acorn has been me and my partner's happy place since we've moved here to Eugene about two years ago. We are always excited to come here, especially to try their new menus when the seasons change. The quality and consistency of their food and service is always on point. It is hard to only write about one particular item, because they're all delicious, so I will add that I love how creative they are with flavors and textures. I tried one of their current drink specials -hojicha persimmon latte- recently and loved it! I love persimmons and grew up eating them, but you don't find them incorporated that often into food and drinks especially here in Eugene. And the addition of hazelnut praline to their current dessert tiramisu for added crunch and flavor amazing. All in all, Acorn brings us immense joy through their food, service, mission, and values. Delicious, doesn't even make you think twice it's all vegan cafe! The best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Our group enjoyed the breakfast hash, veggie bowl and pesto pasta that we all shared, family style. Every bite was full of flavor and texture. All the dishes were beautifully presented! I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Not just because they are an entirely plant based cafe and their food is so flavorful and satisfying. Not just because their cafe drinks are delicious. Not just because they are adorable cafe with a cute aesthetic. But, mainly, because they are a cafe that gives back greatly to the community. They help feed and give supplies to those that are unhoused. Even while I was seating there I heard someone come in asking for supplies. They also have a system called "pay it forward" where you can buy a meal for someone in need. I highly recommend the chai spiced cider and the biscuits and gravy. Being a plant based eatery, I am very much looking forward to working my way through their menu. I would love to make this one of my regular spots for remote work. Unfortunately, they only have three indoor tables so it might be difficult on some colder days to find somewhere to set up. What a cute plant based cafe. The ambiance is just what I was looking for on a cold morning. We were greeted by a lovely person who let us pick our own table. I ordered the biscuit and gravy. My partner said he wasn't hungry but was unable to stay away from my dish. The biscuit was so flakey and delicious on its own but the mushroom gravy...oh my was the best. We went for breakfast and our food was all very sage heavy, we just couldn't escape the sage in everything. Our food was also cold and dry, along with how very very cold we were. We ended up getting our food in boxes just to get somewhere warm. It is also so small inside that I was back to back in a chair with another person at a different table. This place is amazing. Not only is the food off the wall good, but the service is always friendly, atmosphere is cute, and you don't have to tip! You can leave money to help the next person, but aren't allowed to tip the waiter which I think is very refreshing. Get the autumn hash!!!
