I have a soy allergy so I had to ask the waitress for an allergen list to make sure I would be okay. They were very nice and accommodating and told me what was and wasn't safe to eat. They don't do tipping here, they actually pay their employees a livable wage which is fantastic. They have a pay it forward program you can donate cash to instead, it goes towards breakfast for people in need. The employees seemed happy and were very friendly. Viva! is a totally plant based operation, with everything being okay for vegans and vegetarians. A lot of the drinks and food are based on fast food. They may not be as fast and certainly are more expensive, but the prices aren't that bad compared to other places for this kind of stuff. Came at lunch and it wasn't busy. It's because it was still kind of early. There's not any indoor seating, just outside with a few tables. Basically this is a permanent food stand. Orders are placed at the window. It's about $7 for a milkshake. Of course these are made with plant milk, so it's not as fattening as the real stuff. Has a ton of food to choose from. It's about $8 for the Savory Italian Soysage. Good and filling. This has marinara and cashew sauce. A lot more to choose from. There's also burgers, fries, and more. Good place if wanting to get plant based versions of fast food. Casey Neill and his Norway Rats infested the place, occupying many holes stubbornly, much to our delight and ultimate benefit. For 20-plus years I've been making the pilgrimage to Eugene every few years (usually on the occasion of PIELC) -- and without fail, at some point we would end up at Sam Bond's Garage. But this year -- no Sam Bond's. It's turned into the Whit franchise of a pizza place, apparently. (No disrespect to their pizza. It's delicious.) But. What happened to my favorite bar/music spot in Eugene?? Such an unspeakable loss, if this venue is actually permanently closed. I will remain hopeful that it will be reborn... somewhere else? But if not: RIP Sam Bond's Garage. We, from near and far, loved you. Thank you for the good times you gave us all.

The food options are great. Sandwiches, hummus plate, soft pretzel, soup, and slices of pizza. Vegan and meat options and something for everyone. We've seen some great music here sitting at a table and dancing up front. There's a nice area outside that's dominated by smokers, but to each their own. We just love catching a show here!

We don't get down to that part of town often, but we plan to in the future. We had the Fried Tofu Sandwich: Breaded, seasoned tofu served on a toasted pretzel bun with vegan Dijon ranch, pickles, and shredded lettuce and a side of house chips. AND Crispy Avocado Burger: Breaded avocado fried to a crisp, served on a toasted sesame bun with vegan dill ranch and microgreens and house chips. Both were excellent and we would get them again. With all of this said, in addition to the location challenges (parking downtown, etc.), their hours usually don't work for us (they are only open M-F for lunch), being open at least one weekend day would get us there more often, but oh well. It also looks like their website domain has lapsed so they no longer have a website, so Yelp has become their website by default.
