i love Cafe Yumm and it never disappoints. The service is fast & friendly. The only downsides are that they no longer have yogurt as a substitute for sour cream. Also, as many of you already know, it's a bit pricey for the portion sizes. Regardless, still probably several Hot 'n' Jazzy bowls in my future. read more

Two cups of steamed rice, some edemame beans, maybe an ounce or two of chicken meat, a couple of slices of a small avocado, carrot pieces, seeds, a bit of cabbage topped of with the choice of one of a small selection of "sauces" and Voila! A Cafe Yumm rice bowl. So my son and I stopped in for a change of where to eat lunch. We both ate the same thing: a Teriyaki bowl and a Coke. Nothing more nor less. Total came to $33.00. This is more than I personally want to pay for a small ricebowl. FOOD: Was the food good? Yes. Exceptionally good? Not in my estimation. Sort of "plain vanilla." in terms of being interesting. SERVICE: Served promptly and by friendly counter staff--except for the kitchen guy who wouldn't let me use the restroom. AMBIENCE: No restroom available--or so I was told by a kitchen staff member. I was told "the building" (landlord?) won't allow their customers to use the ground floor rest room and they had no dedicated restroom available for their customers. Further, to prevent anyone from using the restroom, which is adjacent to the kitchen, they put a button-coded lock on the door. Of course, this made me wonder as to what staff do when they need a restroom? Inasmuch as I needed the use of a restroom, I promptly threw away half my rice bowl and we headed home to my son's home. Thank God, there was no coded lock on the door. OREGON RESTAURANTS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO PROVIDE WASH AND TOILET FACILITIES FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AT THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS (ORS 624.051) For whatever reason(s), this establishment has decided no to allow their custmers to even wash their hands before sitting down to eat. Needless to say, I've scratched this place off my list. They're done. I will also send a complaint to the local restaruant inspector. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Food was late , I was told 5 minutes when I arrived after ordering online 30 Minutes prior. After waiting another 25 minutes I asked again and my food was pulled from under the counter . It was cold and we later discovered it was incomplete and incorrect . The child working the counter turned her back after handing me the cold food and refused to acknowledge me at all. Her co worker then came out and offered me a cookie ! No apology , no customer service . I had to beg for a fork and a napkin . Never again ! read more

Remember that video with the two little girls in Scotland complaining about the two ice cream cones for nine pounds? That's how I feel about Cafe Yumm. Always friendly staff. Consistently good quality food. And insanely expensive. Today I ordered one large Hot 'n' Jazzy bowl, which is mostly white rice, and one tofu skewer. Cost: $18. I added one bottle of ginger ale and one cookie. Total: $25 before the tip. Ridiculous. And they gave me the wrong cookie and it was stale. I want all people to have a livable wage. Wow, what a disappointment. I was ready for a good bowl and it really sucked. Large bowl was small unless they screwed up on the size. Taste was not good on the spicy bowl. Price was expensive. $13.00 for a bowl and add $2.50 more for protein. Worker was rude when I asked for the restroom code. First time here and will not be coming back. I arrived hungry and left more than satisfied. The gentleman at the register was friendly and smiled brightly and seemed to enjoy serving everyone. It was really busy, but non of the employees acted anxious or hurried. The place was spotless! You could eat off the floor. I got my Yumm Bowl and I was blown away. It was so good. I love this little cafe yumm location. It's very cute inside and out! My yumm bowl order is kinda complicated but they never mess up!

The line was short and since we were with a large group it was nice of the server to bring out our food to us rather than just call our name since it got pretty noisy in there. I got the baby yum and added tofu and took out the cilantro and tomato. The sauce has a sour taste to it that kind of reminded me of the sauce used in some Greek foods. I liked it, I didn't think it was over powering and it balanced the tofu and avocado well. I thought the small sized portion was more than enough for me and the prices weren't too bad! read more

I've been here many times, Cafe Yumm is a staple, but I would advise you to always check your to-go order before leaving! I went tonight and placed a to-go order and they forgot to add the chicken I paid extra for, and no, it was not busy. Of course this is the one time I didn't check my order so we didn't realize until I got home so I can't get a replacement or refund. Good luck! read more

I've never eaten at the place, but I love their food! So does my girlfriend. The employees are always great - more than they should be. The actual restaurant is a nice space - though I've never and probably will never dine there. It isn't required to eat vegetarian here! I eat meat, but happily do the vegetarian thing when I eat from here - I hope you do too! Try the strawberry lemonade as well. We have loved this Cafe Yumm and mostly order food via Grubhub. Grubhub made a mistake recently and the chicken was left off one of our bowls. I called Cafe Yumm and even though this was something that could be handled via Grubhub the staff person here offered to just fix it themselves. They actually mailed to my house a $15 gift certificate to use anytime which covered the price of the bowl that was not correct. I was so impressed with this treatment and this level of customer service that is hard to come by these days. read more

I absolutely love Yumm sauce. And I love me a Yumm bowl. I have been a regular for years. But I have some restrictions with food and after accommodations my meal costs $14 here. And I'm getting veggies and and beans. I'd love to add a chicken or Tempe skewer, but that would put me close to $20 for lunch. That doesn't include the beverage. I can say, that the staff is always friendly. The ingredients are always fresh. And it's generally a pretty fast and easy meal. My favorite is a hot and jazzy, add mixed greens, sub cauliflower rice, extra Yumm sauce. Yumm! I can say that this location is really not the easiest location to park, or pull into. I do wish that they would also consider opening up their indoor dining as well. read more

I remember the Original coming with an option of white rice ( which I wanted). The original Bowl could use a bit more cilantro and a smidge fewer olives. That way you could use the savings to put in a few more shreds of cheese, it was there-- I think. Offer pepper and salt because the avocado was beautiful but needed it! Good food done quickly. Have been here twice now and it has a fun and funky vibe and excellent food. I loved the sauces that came with both my meals. We've enjoyed everything we've ordered and find the prices reasonable. Especially appreciate the spacing of the tables because doesn't feel crowded and can carry on a conversation without needing to raise your voice to be heard across the table. Service is enthusiastic and will encourage desserts, of which there are many tasty choices. Is the perfect place for dinner before going to a play nearby! read more

Ive been frequenting this location for a couple years now. The last 5 times I've gotten the large yumm, with no protein. They cut tempeh out a couple months ago and that was what I liked. It's steadily getting smaller and smaller. It doesn't come close to the top of the bowl. And for $10 that's freaking ridiculous. So looks like I'm done with cafe yumm. So if you want a cup (I mean the actual measurement) of food with no meat for $10 this is your place. Sad to see a local restaurant price gouging. read more

Although I enjoy the food, I have yet to go to a cafe yumm in Eugene/Springfield areas and have them make my order correct. It's such a plain order that it's pathetic they get it wrong. Initially I wasn't sure what to make of the menu, so I rolled the dice on a Chilean Zucchini Bowl and it was pretty darn good. Simple ingredients at first glance, until you get to the Yumm sauce that is! I think the Yumm sauce can be a love/hate thing for people, but in my case XO XO. Have you ever spent $80 dollars on beans and rice? Well, I did and it was awful. With four kids and two adults we used to love cafe yumm because of its healthy options and affordability however, today was the end of that era. Their prices have gone through the roof and the quality has gone down too. I used to love their tempeh skewer that was cut from a thick block but now it's half the size and costs more. I understand that food prices have gone up but we didn't even eat any meat. A large yumm bowl is $11! You can buy a burrito which basically has the same ingredients plus a protein option for almost half that price. Just ridiculous..... read more

I love cafe yumm! My order is always correct and I have a "picky"order, with modifications. Vegan sub cabbage and carrots medium in a large container, Togo and while I was pregnant I got the sauce on the side because to much have me heart burn, but I love it! Couldn't stay away!! Being from out of town (Sacramento, CA)  and attempting to have a decent diet plan; this is my second time visiting this spot and I have decided, this is now going to be my go to spot when in Eugene.   My two experiences at this location have left me with the perspective the the staff are very friendly and have much patience.......as I had no clue as to what I wanted and how to meet my needs for a plant strong type meal. The young lady who assisted me had great patience and explained the ingredients and what I could substitute or exclude!  I ended up with the Original bowl with several substitutions and only two exclusions and my meal was Grrrreat!! read more
