Nothing against the people that work there strictly on trying to make a payment. RATS! I ended my service and took all my belongings with me. Inside of my unit had rat droppings everywhere and on my items. Also bugs and debris everywhere. The employees were kind enough to assist me without any problems which is why I gave it an additional star. Otherwise this would be a one star review. read more

Well my opinion has not changed in fact it has gotten worse! Just received another unit raise. I no longer like Acorn Storage at ALL! The new manager answers my review with "they are trying to stay competitive". Are you kidding me? You don't tell your renters you are trying to stay competitive with all the others that raise their rates twice a year. Yes we know you want to charge as much as everyone else to stay competitive on the business end, not on the consumer end. If you want to be competitive on the consumer end, you keep your rates and raised steady and just a tad lower. Don't mold your business model after Public Storage (whom I have nothing good to say about either). You are trying to stay competitive for profit and not for the renters. What a stupid thing to say to a renter. Staying competitive, for your information, means you want prices that are the same as others so you are in the same league as they are. How does that benefit the consumer? Raising your prices keeps you competitive and that helps the consumer how? Don't put your items here. I am busy or would have emptied the unit already. I have it 60% empty and once I can finish, I will take my long term business elsewhere thank you very much. You can bet on that. Horrible new management, horrible! Only put your items here if you can afford one to two raises in your rates per year. They cannot wait to raise rates. Really sad. This was THE best storage facility in Brentwood with the other management team. I rented a unit here mostly due to the friendliness of the manager and the $1.00 first month special. It's secure, roomy, but pricey. When I tried to vacate the unit but was unable to move the last 2 large items a desk and a bookcase, particular staff members were beyond rude and borderline unprofessional. Suddenly, it's oh, you can't just leave stuff, auction is not optional, we're not a dump site, and then the threats of all the fees that will be accrued such as: abandonment, dump, auction, liens, and collections. Then claim that they don't want me "to have to deal with the repercussions." If you're new to the area, financially strained, or don't know anybody to help you move your stuff, bypass this place. read more

This review is for their lack of communication! The site is nice, clean, safe and gated! However, my first irritation was I got an email stating that if I did auto payments, there was a discount. So I opted in, didn't get my discount and had to call. When I called they said I would be credited the following month. It's like "whatever". The biggest irritation is today! I came in last Tuesday and communicated that I would do a move out Saturday (today). I asked if there was anything I needed to do, they said just to do in writing. No one told me that their hours were changing. I hired movers at 9 am. Get to the storage facility and there is a new sign posted that hours have changed and the access code for the gate will not work until 930?! No notification or communication was sent. No email, text, phone call, etc. when I called the office the person said he didn't know why I wasn't notified or even told last Tuesday?! That's it?????? So I paid movers to sit and wait 30 mins to wait for the gate to open! read more

I have been with this facility for while now. it's been a pretty good experience and the staff is very friendly. Well I can only speak for Carolyn and Eva as they are the only ones I've dealt with But lately I've only dealt with Carolyn, she's such a sweetheart and makes the experience so much easier. I just rented here as my first time with a storage unit. I definitely did not know how they work as the unit I reserved was in a corner that would definitely not fit my 9 foot sofa. Thankfully the manager Martina was super helpful and got me into a less expensive unit that fit all my stuff. Because of this I saw three units and they were all very clean and had counter measures to Antioch pests. There were two other gentlemen that I do not remember their names but were friendly and very helpful. A cute addition to the facility is that they have a prize wheel for new customers. read more

I rented a 10x20 for 3 months until the end of January. I got the first month at promo rate which was nice! Clean and no issues with the storage unit. Staff is friendly! I even received a nice little birthday card from them. I would definitely rent from them again if needed. read more

Renter Beware! This has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a company before in my life. We renter a unit back to this past 7 years ago we used them and loved them. Now we came back all these years later the the experience was very different. When we went in to rent the unit the lady was very nice. We told her we only needed it for a couple months, as we are selling our home and buying a new one. She was so great and explained to how she would set us up on auto payment, and that once we knew when we going no longer need the unit to let them know and they would pro-rate us the days we did not use. Here is where is went downhill fast! Really fast! Today on 11/6/2017 we received a call that we were late on our payment. (Hmmm ok) So my better half went into the office to pay the bill... (more downhill) They told him that we were late paying and that we would not be pro-rated because we needed to give them advice notice before we made our payment. So I decided to call that evening 11/17 and see what was going on. The guy that answered the phone started out nice, but as soon as he knew I had a complaint it got hostile very quickly. He would not listen to me at all, he talked over me the entire time I was on the phone. Even when I asked if he could stop talking over me, and said and I quote " You are not listening, there is no issue, and you need to listen to me. Read your contract it's all there". I am a director of customer service, and this has to be the rudest person I think I have ever spoke to over the phone. Yes, it is my responsibility to make sure I read the small print, but when you call to ask further questions, or make a complaint this is not how you should be treated at all. I even told him this is what I was told, and he did not care what so ever. He if was under my management he would have been fired on the spot! It is only a little money that I would be pro-rated, so it is really not the money at all to be honest. For anyone renting a unit from this storage place, make sure you read all the writing up front and do not trust the person at the front desk just because they tell you something. I have learned my lesson for sure. I will call back in the morning to report this gentlemen and speak to the senior manager about his actions, and very poor customer service. I wish I have a better experience the second time around. read more

I feel horrible giving this place only three stars. I absolutely love the staff they are very very friendly as well as helpful. Now the reason why I give it three stars it's because they do have a problem with ants. Also if you call the hotline it'll tell you, hope they're open 24 hours. One star only because their $1 for the first month rent promotion is a sham. Once you go there to reserve a storage unit they will tell you that the unit that you want does not qualify for the promotion or they are out of that particular storage unit. My husband and I called different times and I always get the same answer. read more

I'm giving Acorn Self Storage a one star review because the person at the front desk was rude to me. I've rented a storage unit at this place 2 times, and I was going to rent a third time. Previously, they offered me a move in special, and when I inquired about a special they said they don't have one. which is fine, I completely understand. However my move is on a budget, so I said I was going to call around to see what other places were charging and if the had move in specials. The Acorn salesperson said "you should stay in the parking lot while you call, because you're not going to find anything cheaper" and as I was walking out the door she yelled "we'll see you back soon!", I do not appreciate her condescension. I did call around and found a 10X10 unit for less money per month and a move in special. I would have paid more and stuck with Acorn if the sales staff had not been so unprofessional. I recall professionalism and pleasantness on every other interaction I've had with the staff at Acorn, which is why I was returning for a third time. Unfortunately due to the poor service I received from them I will not be returning. read more
