BEWARE! Dont trust this place. I bought a storage unit and the total cost was over 1200 dollars after 3 dump runs in a big 11 ft by 10 van ! They have me the custimer namr at 1st last name Callins , then when after we cleaned Chris the employeeat the desk told Kisti that we had been done cleaning Serigio Ortegas unit ! Why is he providingfalse statements??? . There was over 70 boxes in that unit and had insulation hanging from the sealing, it was hard to work inside with all that insulation floating in the air. When we opened them, 100% of them had cleaned out garbage inside or garbage, the type you sweep off the floor in them with durt and different peoples information ( not 1 person ) I also asked for the lean information and it did not match any of the random information we found. 100% off all WAS GARBAGE. Also Chris and his manager Kristi are not friendly at all. I ask myself How can There be over 70 boxes and they all had garbage Clean out in them. I asked for help and the manager hung up on me threatening to red flag me ( forcing the clean out ) Then hung up. Chris the employee at the desk has no people skills and would get mad when talking, i am a very calm person and asked him to not talk to me that way. I hope they didn't clean out other units and stuffed garbage in this 10×30 unit. We had the worst time cleaning that. Guys it was ALL SWEEPED UP GARBAGE IN EVERY BOX, ALL OF THEM. A normal tenant would not pay for a 10×30 for 2 years and pack garbage. IN MY OPINION, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVER EVER. BEWARE! SUPER RUDE EMPLOYEES . Except for the young guy he was calm and collected. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE the owner needs to teach them customer services skills . Karma is real and this felt like a sure set up. I cannot say enough about the three ladies (Melissa, Tori & Kim) at Brentwood Storage! They came through with an unusual request I had for storage, they are amazing and I highly recommend them. I needed a drive up unit that would accommodate my car for 10 days, not only did they find a special I could use towards that, as I really did not want to pay a full month. The unit was SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! It looked absolutely brand new, inside and out. There is easy access in an out of the facility, with alarm setting on your unit as you go in and out. Staff is nice but they have rats that will chew through your entire storage and they will only offer you $500. They will also make you pay the rent before they even send you the money. So you will have to pay even when you find out your stuff is destroyed. read more

Twice I have rented one-way trucks from them and had excellent results both times. The staff goes out of their way to explain everything about the truck, help you keep your mileage and gas costs down, and avoid any extra charges. They don't seem to be intent on nickle and diming you to death. Trucks were both as promised; clean, gassed up, and ready to go. Front desk was efficient and competent, as well as polite. Nice facility, clean, well-lit, and secure in a decent part of town. If I needed to rent a building, this is likely the place I'd choose. read more

Okay...I will be the first to admit you really have to impress me and meet all of my business criteria before I hand out five star reviews. I own a business so I more than expect the same level of service, professionalism, quality and integrity that I give to my very own clients and team. Sometime last year (2015) I stopped by and spent sometime with Ken Maier the manager to evaluate storage options, pricing and security. I was taken back by how accommodating he was in showing me the various "available" units and helping me determine which size unit would best fit my needs. Security was my biggest concern. I value the lengths at which Ken, Kim and Brentwood Self Storage have gone to ensure security gates, one way driving in and throughout the storage property, security cameras and security access codes which are logged. The property is very well maintained and cleaned. I have been to some storage facilities in which I could not say the same and/or they were being used for a vehicle lot. Simply the furthest from the case here. I travel a lot. Convenience in paying my monthly bill is important. They have several payment options. However, I usually my one week a month in town, opt to stop by and pay my bill in person. Today for example, I walked in and before I could even say "Hello", Kim Ridgway, who is the Asst. Manager, was there to greet me and by name! Yes, she makes it a point to know you. Walking into a place and being greeted by your name and with such a friendly demeanor is impactful even if for that moment in time. When you want to rent a storage unit and not feel like you are leaving your property to chance, this is the place. If you want to know that your items are protected and not paying more than necessary this is the place. If you want to know and trust the staff this is going to be on the property, assist you as needed and make this service valuable to you, this is the place. The woman who appears to be the supervisor at the front desk, training a younger girl-was extremely rude. This isn't the first time but today I decided to speak up about it. My stepdad just passed away and I was helping my mom and she had a check to drop off at their office. My mom wanted to change their account contact info and provide her own email address. My elderly mom couldn't get out of the car so I went in to the office for her and paid her bill and asked to change the email address. My mom is sitting in the car right in front of the door we all turned around and looked at her but this woman behind the counter on a power trip said you can't do that only she can. I explained she couldn't get out of the car and she said you're not on the account then dismissed me. She turned to her employee and asked her to verify my mother was the account holder and to get the new contact info from my mom at the car. Instead of politely explaining they'd have to verify the account she chose to snap at me and give me a dirty look. Now I get it, you can be having a bad day and that's why she may have responded that way but this isn't the first time we've encountered this woman's attitude. Some people shouldn't work with the public if they don't know how to provide courteous customer service. read more

I had been a customer for 6 months. I realized my monthly bill had went up so I went in to speak to someone about my unit/billing cycle. Kim who is the manager was rude and unprofessional. She has no customer service skills and seemed to not want to help me. I asked her if there was any specials going on for the month if I down sized units. She said "no there wasn't and that no smaller units were available." Then an employee said to her that they did have a smaller unit available in front of me. Then Kim had no choice but to show me the smaller available unit. I asked Kim if there were any specials if I moved from the largest unit into a smaller one. Kim said no only for new customers. I then asked her well what if I closed my current account and opened a new account under my husband's name and get the special rate. Kim replied rudely "No you can't do that!" Then later said "you want me to close your account?" I sure went in on Thursday Oct. 29th. to close my account because of the lack of customer service I received from Kim and decided to take my business elsewhere . Buyer beware!!! The management at this location is awful! We reserved a couple of trucks. When we went to pick one up we have a full load and did not drive into the back lot. They berated us for not driving in. The man that took care of the truck we vulgar, and he used the "F" word about ten times - literally. We have never been treated so poorly, ever. Needless to say we have contacted corporate, replied to the survey they sent us and have told all our friends. There are MANY other rental places in the area that welcome your business. Don't bother reserving a U-Haul here. Pulled up to the back, because that is where I saw all of the U-Hauls parked. Before I could ask the disgruntled, pony tail wearing jerk at the U-Haul lot a question, he says, "office is down there. You're being a hazard to me right now and I won't serve you. Don't blame me for your confusion!". I literally had just shut the door to the car and hadn't said a word. Ok. Anyway, I walk down the corner to check in and the front desk person says, "Oh yeah we had a problem with your reservation." Well gee thanks. A phone call would have been nice. Instead they wait until I get there to tell me that some guy from a neighboring U-Haul dealer in Oakley was supposed to drop off an extra truck for me yesterday but never did. They had a smaller truck that I was willing to take, but there was no gas in it so it wouldn't start. The guys with a reservation before me didn't have their reservation either, and they had hired a work crew to help them move. Great thing is that I was dropped off here, anticipating leaving in a U-Haul. About 30 minutes into me sitting there another lady up front asks with a laugh,"Did you get dropped off? Yeah that happens a lot." Glad your screw up is so amusing to you. So I sat there for an hour to get picked up and dropped off at the Oakley U-Haul rental place. They close at 3. I literally called them at 3:02 (yes it's on my phone record) to let them know I had just left the gas station and would be there in a few minutes, and they had already closed for the day and left. Now I don't know if they are going to hit me with some BS late charge fees due to their own screw up. If they hadn't wasted an hour of my morning I would've been back with plenty of time to spare. Oh yeah and when I complained about the maniac U-Haul lot attendant the explanation I got was "Oh yeah it's because people can't bring their cars back there". Don't expect a reservation to mean anything here, any apologies, and expect to get laughed on while you sit there for an hour with no truck. I pray I get a survey from Corporate about this place. read more

I recently rented a 10'x30' unit here and was impressed with both the staff and the facility. Ken, Kim, Dave, and the other staff were always helpful, friendly, and prompt when I went in to the office. My wife and I needed a unit to store some of our belongings while we had our house up for sale. When selling a house, it is important to have it neat and uncluttered, so a storage unit is a great way to do that. I also wanted to pack and move certain items myself, instead of paying professional movers to do it. Being able to put things in a storage unit ahead of time, before the "move date" when the professional movers arrived to transport all the heavy, bulky stuff, was the way to go. Moving out of a house often takes longer than expected, people underestimate the number of trips needed, there can be complications in "closing escrow," delays in sellers moving out, buyers who insist on moving in sooner than originally planned, and more, all leading to the need for a quick move. Having this storage unit definitely helped us out. I had some valuable items in my storage unit, things that the stars of "Storage Wars" would be glad to bid on. Security of a person's items in storage is a top priority. Brentwood Self Storage has that covered. The managers live in a residence on site, and their back windows and second story patio offer a clear view of the facility. Cameras are well placed, and the office has high resolution video monitors to keep an eye on activities. I had a feeling that nothing would go undetected with their security measures. Staff also do "lock checks" daily for each storage unit to ensure that units are properly locked. The facility has a heavy duty gate, and every renter must use an individually assigned code to enter and leave the facility. If I need a local storage unit again, I will definitely call Brentwood Self Storage. read more

All I can say is LISTEN to the Star Ragtings and look at the dates of the reviews. I was over charged for gas when I returned the truck with the gage exactly where it was when I picked up. I took pictues to prove it including the workers had pointing to the 1/4 full tank. I will update my rating if and when Ken (who really is a very nice guy and provided great customer service when I picked up ) reviews the pictues and corrects the over charge. Update: Shortly after this review I was contacted by a great gentleman in corporate who provided me with Ken's contact info and assured me Ken would take care of this. I didn't call right away because I became ill. However, just like I expected, Ken did follow up and I'm glad to say I was right about Ken. He followed thru and made sure everything was taken care of even when I couldn't respond back in a timely manner. Ken is what will turn this business around. So, a place like U-haul is a place you don't notice until you need it. My first encounter with the u-haul on Sand creek was last week. I went in for a few boxes. We are moving and didn't want to get too many that I was overwhelmed. I walked in and the guy behind the desk ( Ken the owner) was on the phone. He was talking to a customer. He got off the phone pretty quick and asked if I needed anything. I said no I was just grabbing a couple of boxes. 10 or so. He rang me up and was really nice. He even offered to walk them to the car for me. I had my son with me so that was really handy. Today, I went in and he remembered me and we chatted about moving. Exchanged pleasantries. Then Nathan the kid behind the desk rang me up and carried my boxes to the car. I am sorry to leave this little town of Brentwood. It's people like Ken and Nathan that make small businesses like this amazing. It's a hometown feel. Super nice, laughing smiling. This is the place to go for all your packing needs. They have boxes, tape, bubble wrap, you name it. And the boxes are cheaper there than anywhere else in town. I've looked at Walmart, Home Depot and Target. They are at least a dollar cheaper for all box sizes. Cheaper and nicer people. I mean have you ever tried finding someone in Home Depot? read more

I first rented my sorage unit in March 2003 and have nothing but wonderful things to say about Barbara, Kim, and Roger. The facility is very well maintained and properly secure and very clean. Prices are very reasonable and in the 7 years i have been there my rent only went up by $15. I only intended on keeping my things here for 2-3 months and found that i needed them long term. My family has done business here many times over the years. My mom has had a storage there for quite some time, and I just had one which I was finally able to empty out (and move into or new place, yay!) Along with the 2 storage rentals, we have also rented 3 U-haul trucks on different occasions. Everyone in the office has always been so kind and helpful, they put some ease to the moving process. Also, I appreciate Ken's uhaul confirmation calls because he clues you in on everything to expect, no surprises! And Kim is always so sweet and knowledgeable. They take good care of their customers. One time we came in right behind someone else, so we didn't code in (my bad!) And while we were both in our units, Ken came up to check on everything because their security program notified them that someone was in our units that didn't sign in. It means a lot that he took the time to run out and check out our units to ensure that it was the rightful renters and not some stranger dangers. I rent my uhaul trucks from Brentwood Self Storage on a regular basis for my business, and they have the best customer service! Kim, the manager, and Nichole are always so helpful, friendly, and efficient. Actually everybody I have encountered at this location has been great. They are always so thorough in going over your contract and checking over the truck with you to confirm mileage, damage, etc.. Not all locations do this.
