The place can only seat 14 at a time so be prepared to wait. I like the interior, it's quaint and smartly designed. Clean as well. The food is a bit pricey. We tried the calzone and three different types of pizza. The calzone was my fav this particular day. Crust is good, fresh ingredients. The red sauce is ok. One of our pizzas was a white pizza with sausage, broccoli rabe and mozz. The sausage was very mild. Unimpressive. And the broccoli rabe was slimy and kind of gross. Other than that it was good. Love Vecchia Osteria, so I thought I'd give Acqua e Farina a try. I've been searching for a place close to home that makes a good Margherita Pizza. After my experience at Acqua, my search continues. The texture of the crust was good, but it had a burnt taste from the wood fired oven. The sauce was so skimpy that you couldn't taste it. The basil was only on one side of the pie. Overall a very disappointing pizza. I will continue to patronize Vecchia, but won't return to Acqua. read more

We got take-out, and they only did personal pizzas. The dough was really good and the ingredients and toppings were fresh and tasty. However, it was a little too small to really warrant the cost. What we paid for one personal pizza was about the price we'd pay elsewhere for a large pizza that would feed one extra person and have leftovers. I don't think I'd be going back unless I were seeing a friend I haven't seen in some time and we weren't too hungry but felt the need to sit and eat together. Or I really wanted a treat. Four stars for ambience, friendliness and service, 2-3 stars for pizza and salads (especially when considering the cost). Yes, I know that Neapolitan pizza is softer than traditional pizza, but the pizza here is overly chewy and the sauce is so-so. There's better Neapolitan pizza at Liberty Hall in Lambertville, and better overall pizza and salads at DiLorenzos in Lower Makefield. The people here are very nice, hope they can improve the pizza to match the ambience. read more

Very disappointing! My pizza was brought to the table cold. My wife's pizza did not arrive for over thirty minutes after my cold pizza arrived. Mistakes happen, but the waiter ignored us instead of addressing the delay. I'm pretty sure we'd still be sitting there waiting for it if we hadn't flagged him down several times to ask about it. We asked two of the staff to speak with a manager and no one ever talked to us. The only apology was from the kid bussing the tables. Pathetic service! I still tipped the staff, I'm regretting that now. read more

Tried the new place tonight. Very cute little spot. Great waitress, nice menu. We had a very good ceaser salad although the breadcrumbs were soft it was good. We had a calzone which was rich and delicious if not maybe a tad too much ricotta. We also had prosciutto arugula burrata pie. It was tasty but it's wasn't burnt to my liking. Neapolitan is supposed to be crispy burnt on outside and doughy inside. This was all dough. I'm curious if the arugula was local and organic. I hope so. The prosciutto was excellent. The prices however are incredibly high so I guess my thoughts are the pie should be perfect. I may return but I just assume make the trip to Hopewell to go to Nomad which does Neapolitan as well as Roman style and their ingredients are all from local farms. It's not that I didn't like this pie I just didn't love it. The chefs are all very sexy and friendly. I hope it does well. read more

This is the type of place you would expect to find in Italy - so we are so lucky to have this in Newtown! We have been searching for a pizza place serving up that wood fired taste with fresh ingredients. They have the very best crust; thin yet with just the right pull, crisp, and wood-fired flavor. The pizzas are very delicious though, interestingly, not like ones I had in Naples despite the fact that the pizzaiolo is clearly Neapolitan, as is the family. Sauce, spectacular. Meatballs, outstanding. And I have high standards for both! I only realized later that they're related to Vecchia Osteria, which makes sense because that food is also amazing. The waitress/manager/owner's daughter was as delightful as could be and brought us little treats to try throughout the meal. Great atmosphere, very sweet place. read more

What a lovely place! We are new to the area and we're so happy others recommended this find on Yelp. The stuffed meatballs were on the appetizer menu and are fantastic - tender and flavorful. My husband and son raved they were the best the ever had. The pizza was truly a labor of love - thin on the bottom, beautiful fluffy edges with just the right amount of chew. Some pizza combos were better than others, but I think that has more to do with personal preference. When our waitress (a restaurant family member) heard we thought one of the pizzas was too rich for us, she took it right off our bill since she wanted us to be happy. We devoured all the rest of our other pizzas, stuffing ourselves silly. Highest quality ingredients and a hard working waitstaff make this our new favorite. read more

The absolute BEST! We come with our young son and are never disappointed. Not only is our family welcomed with open arms by Anna but the food is stellar. I almost don't want the public to know about this fabulous Newtown spot. It's our families favorite. The food, the ambience, and the employees make this place a top restaurant in Newtown. Really good Neapolitan wood fired pizza ; friendly service, nice ambiance. Like others, offered a free glass of a decent house wine when we dropped in without having BYOB'd. Salads are terrific, ricotta stuffed meatball and eggplant appetizers phenomenal and beautiful salads big enough for two. Good, fresh food with a variety of toppings - I had the broccoli rabe and salciccia pie. Good value compared to the only other place in the region (Liberty Hall Lambertville) that makes good Neapolitan pies. Will become a definite addition to our regular restaurant rotation. read more

This was the best pizza I have had since I was in Italy several years ago. And the eggplant parmesan comes out looking like a Stouffer's frozen dinner but was the best I have ever eaten in Italy or anywhere else. Fair prices and great food so we will be back soon. read more

Pizza is pheonominal! Pasquale knows his way around a wood fired oven. He takes great care in crafting each and every pizza. The attention to detail and selection of ingredients is apparent in the final product. The pizza crust was light, chewy and perfectly crisp. Sauce and cheeses were very good. My only complaint - if there is one - is the dining room was small and offered limited seating. And it was very warm when we sat down to eat. read more

I was so excited to see a new pizzeria in the area! I'm tired of the cookie cutter pizza and I was elated to see a real brick oven inside the this charming pizzeria! My hopes are high! Okay....the wait staff is pleasant and courteous, complimentary items before our pizza, A+.....I'm happy. Pizza comes out, looks beautiful. I pick it up, it falls apart:( I can't even fold it?? I'm a total foodie and I have had pizza from all over, including Italy. I don't recall having my pizza fall apart in such a way? The flavors and presentation were nice. We were so hopeful for real Italian brick oven pizza that we drove from Yardley after reading such positive reviews on here. The place is very noisy and I was worried when we walked in and it was busy, but there was no garlic, tomato, basil, pizza aroma in the air. No food aroma whatsoever, and pizzas were being cranked out very fast. Service was fast- I will give them that. The bruschetta they served was on crustini that was extremely tough. They were served with dough bites that were covered in a tomato paste that were pretty awful. Then the pizza we ordered was SOGGY. It tasted like it was covered in raw egg! I guess this was a combination of the wet artichoke hearts, wet Kalamata olives, and flavorless olive oil. We love thin pizza, but the dough was soggy, chewy (in a tasteless bad way) except for the burned taste on the bland crust. I am so sorry. We really wanted to like this place, but we won't be back. I never write reviews, but this one is to help steer you clear, or perhaps the restaurant can find this helpful for improvements. read more
