It is wonderful to have authentic Neapolitan style pizza right in Newtown! We enjoyed 3 different pizza's this evening. The Special- Stella , the Diabolo and the Bufolino. All wonderfully fresh, delicious and perfectly prepared . Some previous reviews commented that the center of the pizza was too wet or messy ....... this is the way authentic Neapolitan pizza is supposed to be cooked ! "Humido" or wet in the center. This is not American pizza! So much better! Pull it apart or fold it when you eat it. The staff was very attentive and friendly. This is a great place to meet with friends or come for a first date. I've brought a few friends here time to time. I've begun to expect a certain experience when I bring my friends.. the tomato bread, the sweet homemade wine are nice touches to the meal, you can also bring your own, but the little sample they give the adults is enough to relax. I always order the beet salad and the margarita pizza. It's a small pizza, and just enough for two people and with the salad it's a nice balanced meal. It's not the regular pizza that is cut into eight pieces. The crust reminds me of my Nonna's pizza too.My favorite part is at the end when they give us the nutellacello. You should make this a regular thing cause one time they didn't offer it, and it felt strange when you get used to it. It's these little touches that set this pizza place apart from your ordinary pizza shop. It reminds me a lot of Italy, when the owner just gives you samples because they like to. It's a nice positive atmosphere. I like to watch the guys make the pizzas at the counter. They work very hard, pizza after pizza, it's fascinating. They should get a raise! ALMOST like home. I know exactly what a real pizza should taste like since I grew up in Europe. It's the best one I could find in the area (low bar though...). It's soft and chewy, just the way it's supposed to be. And they use the right flour and the proper oven. BUT, I found the crust to be a little on the soggy side in the center and a tad bit too thin. It should be thin. but they got it too thin in the center. Also not too many different types, back home we have 15-20 to chose from, but that's OK. They could use a little more toppings, I could see the crust in areas. Overall happy I could find this place. read more

Got there on time and had to wait another 20 minutes; when home, discovered that I got Margarita with prosciutto one one side and arugula on the other side plus the crust was under cooked. Terrific pizza place with amazing tasting crust. We went here on a Thursday night and ordered 2 pizzas and chocolate doughnuts ...bill came to 40$, and it was plenty of food for 2 adults and 3 children. Love that it is a byob! The staff was very friendly and the children enjoyed watching the chef make their pizza. We will definitely go back. As a bonus they gave us some delicious spiked apple cider with dessert. I have been sitting here trying to think of adjectives strong enough to describe how much I loved this place - AWESOME, AMAZING, FANTASTIC - what else? If you haven't been you MUST go. So this is owned by the same people that own our fave italian spot in Newtown - Vechhio Osteria. We love Osteria so we figured this place had to be good - and we were right. We came for my birthday dinner and I am already plotting to go back. We started with the meat and cheese app and then had two pizzas - the special (4 sauce with cheese and I added arugla) and my husband had the loaded one with roasted peppers, zuchhini and kalamata olives. Both were delish and perfectly cooked. I cannot imagine a "bad" pizza here, especially bc you can customize anything you want. It's a BYOB which is perfect and it is TINY. if you don't hit it at the right time, be prepared to wait or get a pizza to go. But the ambiance is so delightful, waiting doesn't even bother you. And the free glass of house wine and small squares of (what is basically) tomato pie doesn't hurt either... My only critique would be price - we were charged $22 for the "special" pizza - which was just tomato sauce and cheese - a bit excessive for an individual pizza. But again - this place is AWESOME. I'm very picky about pizza, especially wood-fired pizza. After living in Italy for close to five years and then coming back to the U.S., I tend to steer clear of Italian restaurants in general. I found a great pizza spot in Doylestown (Spuntino), but didn't feel like making the drive up there. A friend had told me the calzone was good here, so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! First of all, the restaurant is BYOB - which is always a win in my book. The meal started with a complimentary antipasti of some plain focaccia and veggies marinated in olive oil. The focaccia was fantastic, but the veggies were nothing to write home about. Especially because they were cold, not even room temp. The same friend who told me the calzone was good told me that it came with a lot of tomato sauce on top. So, when I ordered, I purposefully asked for light sauce. When it arrived, it looked perfect. Just like every calzone I've ever had in Naples, filled with mozzarella, ricotta, and salami. Since eating there, I have found myself craving this calzone (so I will definitely be back). Was and am really excited I put aside my pizza snobbery and gave this place a try. To finish, the calzone was so big that I could only eat half and the other heated up very well the next day. Two meals out of it, so well worth the price! read more

They offer specials using local ingredients that they post on the back wall, so keep an eye out! I've tried at least 6 pies from here and they have all been great. Every time we have gone, we have been surprised by a complimentary appetizer or dessert. Seating is limited, so be prepared to wait a bit if you are hoping to eat during peak hours. I was underwhelmed by the overpriced pizza, which should be served piping hot, not warm. The edge of the crust was thick and mostly very brown to burnt looking; very uneven browning considering the pizza oven they use. The rest of the crust was extremely thin and soggy. Open only for a month and so far the best pizza spot in Newtown. The pizza sufficiently packs more wood oven in flavor than Meglios, providing for a very authentic taste. The crust is great. I would say nearly on-par to Pitruco Pizza food truck in Philadelphia. The ingredients are higher quality I would say than Meglios but there is room for improvement. It would be nice to see anchovies and clams as a pizza option. Maybe Spanish white anchovies. Maybe smoked eels, or smoked oysters, or smoked mussels or smoked tuna or smoked mackerel.. or smoked salmon (I kind of find smoked salmon boring these days as it's every where). Something on the seafood side of things. Hopefully with the additional option of anchovies and clams :) Overall the first experience was good. I will be coming back. Some of the downside is that the parking is meh and on a busy Friday organization can get a bit messy. They're still new, this is bound to happen. It would be nice to be able to order online to be honest. This would be useful for busy Friday nights where phone disconnects can cause extra problems. Also it would create for more efficiency allowing the staff to focus on making pies and taking care of tables etc. If able to order online, you should then naturally be able to pay online too which would aid in the purpose of efficiency and organization. I'm not interested in paying $18 for a margarita pizza made with shredded bagged mozzarella. Some nice buffalo mozzarella would be expected for $18. Has gone downhill since opening. You can tell the staff is spread too thin trying to accommodate its dine-in customers while also servicing its takeout and delivery orders. They only have one oven and operationally that's the bottleneck. Due to the increased demand you'll now get soggy, droopy, chewy, uncooked pizza dough that is burnt on the edges. I also had a bone on my pizza. They're lucky I didn't crack my tooth. Another sign of the staff being spread too thin. If you call in a pick up order they don't actually start cooking your order until you arrive. We won't be back anytime soon. After all it's Newtown the birthplace of pizza places and banks evidently. I went to Acqua e Frania due to all the phenomenal reviews on Yelp. Sadly, I was disappointed. The service was good, slow, but good. The pizza though, it was not good. It was mediocre at best. Not one person at the table enjoyed it. The crust was extra chewy, the sauce was good, but the pizzas really lacked cheese as well. I am not a pizza snob. This is the best wood fired oven pizza I have ever had! The crust is light and seems to just melt in your mouth. They offer some untraditional toppings that are quite good. Salads are also delicious and interesting. On one visit I had one with fresh figs and arugula. Delicious! It is a cozy BYOB that is a great addition to Newtown. read more
