I would like to give a BIG shout out to this business. First while I was on vacation last year I received a call that my solar inverter had gone bad they were on there way to my house to replace it. Please tell me another company that is that proactive. They sent out their repairman that day and replaced the inverter. Also during this last storm in December I observed a water leak in my master bedroom I called ACR because I thought it might be related to my solar. Within 30 minutes there was 2 ACR workers at my front door, they looked in the attic and then went on the wet roof to find the leak. They found the leak and repaired it. I was having problems with my dishwasher. The repairman thought we had a bad wall switch and circuit breaker. We called ACR who had installed our solar and a new electrical panel. They were in our area and arrived within the hour. Kody found a bad breaker which he repaired. He also kindly replaced a bad outlet under the sink as well as the bad wall switch (which he had to go buy parts for.) Kody explained everything thoroughly and was thankfully able to fix our problems that day (the Friday before a 3 day weekend.) I did not go with them. For one, the guy who came out was a talker, but not about the product. When I asked questions, ie can they put the system on the roof of my patio cover, he insisted that it had to go in the the front of the house..but it doesn't get the sun like the backyard. After 15 years of contemplating and talking to around 10 different solar contractors, i had been so turned off by either lack of knowledge that some had and/or high pressure or insistence that others had, that i decided not to move forward......until i accidentally ran into Al Rich at ACR Solar! Al was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! With no pressure whatsoever, proceeded to explain to me the advantages of solar, specific to my household. He sent Matt out to get more details at my house, and I discovered he too was knowledgeable and VERY easy going in the process, again, no pressure to commit. All information at this point was simply, "call us if it sounds good to you", never got a call after that unless it was warranted by me by way of a return call. Needless to say, we called on ACR to finally do the install and could not be happier. Installers were professional, hard working and honest. Both Matt and Al called to check in with me reassuring me everything would be fine. We are saving a minimum of $50 per month until the system is paid off at which time all of our energy will then be almost free. My wife and I loved these guys so much we hired them back to do a small custom pool heating array on top of our shed to get us in the pool earlier and later in the year........ pool heating equipment and custom labor for less than $5000 hurt a little upfront, but knowing it's costing me nothing in additional energy to use it all day long is a huge plus! Keeping my pool water at 80 degrees has been nothing short of success with our pool parties. Basically, if you need solar for an honest price with no hassles ACR Solar is what I highly recommend! Al C Rich, the founder of ACR Solar International, was a pioneer in the solar industry. He put a solar powered reindeer display on the Reagan White House in 1987. Al has four patents to his name in solar hot water technology. They are much more efficient than solar electric panels at capturing the sun's energy, grabbing about 85% compared to solar electric's 15%, so the energy savings are waaaay better than solar electric, and the combo of both is the ideal. So ACRSI does both hot water and electric. And their customers rave about them! I don't have one of their systems yet, because I am between houses, but when I do, this is going to be my team. Al's staff have been with him for years: sales, installation, maintenance, and office. So they really know the ropes, and they are helpful to the point of ridiculous. Al Rich put a thermal system on my roof last month and it is working perfect. Install was fast even though my house was a difficult one for them. Collector is running at 160F and the water heater is not coming on anymore at all! The $1500 SMUD rebate came already and the $1560 Federal Rebate got me to where I only paid for half the system! Even the SMUD guy said "we almost never see problems with Al's systems." I calculated a $445 per year savings on my SMUD bill- that's a 4.5 year payback before I am making money... read more

Solar is the way to go for the future, especially now with the rebates from PGE, SMUD and the Federal government. To combat the rising costs of PGE in Yolo county, I contacted ACR Solar about a thermal solar water heater. I had contacted a couple of other companies before them and got the run around and incorrect information. Aaron, the solar water heater sales representative explained all the costs and the process for the install. The installation team from ACR were very knowledgeable to the tee and took their time to be precise with the installation of the system. The collector panels were matched to my home, you have 26 colors to choose from, and it looks really nice up on my roof. I have a two story home and the installation for this configuration will take two days. The ACR team did a great job in running my piping using existing spaces and vents within my home, no outside conduit piping real cool. The solar storage unit, with digital controls looks great in the garage and the exsisting gas water heater won't be working as hard now. All the piping in the garage was insulated very professionally. The bottom line cost of this install is 50% after the rebates are refunded. At this point in the game, it is crazy why more people don't take advantage of solar. Also, you will increase the value of your home immensely, remember you are producing power now. Great experience. ACR just installed solar (19 Panasonic 320w panels, emphase microinverters, and consumption monitoring adapters, a 220 volt outlet to change my EV). In January, they will be redoing my polar solar moving it to the other side of my roof. Company did outstanding job at exceptionally competitive price with excellent quality and workmanship. Aaron the sales rep was more a of consultant on helping size the system and options and was easy to work with. The company provided a flow chart of the process to set expectations and often followed up during the process to see if I had questions. They typically haven't installed the consumption monitoring adapters, but we jointly did the research and they ended up doing that part of the job for free!!!! This is an awesome feature allows you to see what you are producing and consuming on daily/hourly basis in a mobile app, otherwise you have to try to reconcile pge statements. Be sure to ask for consumption monitoring! They don't have the shiny brochures, but more than make up for it with great pricing and customer service. Highly recommend. read more

I would give ACR 10 stars if I could. I just got off the phone with the president of the company (John Rasuga) and let me tell you, this company is all about doing what is right for the customer. We were originally quoted one price for our pool solar and when the installers arrived today they informed us that the pump we had did not have enough horsepower to effectivley run water through the system. My wife called me at work in a panic to inform me that was told it was going to be an extra $1500 on top of our original quote to get everything up and running. I immediately called ACR to figure out what was going on. When I called I spoke with John and filled him on the situation. When they came out to do the prior inspection no one informed us about the pool pump needing to be replaced. Honestly, I was ready to have him pull the installers from the job before they go any further, and look elsewhere. Not only did John apologize for the confusion, he assured me not to worry, and that his company would take care of the pool pump at no extra cost to us. At the end of the conversion he said, "THEY ARE NOT HAPPY UNLESS THE CUSTOMER IS HAPPY!" If you're looking to install solar you would be crazy not to go with ACR. read more

I met with about 5 companies when researching solar, and ACR was--by far--the most professional and knowledgeable. I was really impressed with Peter (our salesperson), we got a comprehensive quote, and all the process and timelines were laid out and ultimately met by the team. Installation went smoothly, and we got our permission to operate from PG&E in mid-March. The only bump in the road was that the paperwork submitted to PG&E said "keep current rate plan" instead of "switch to TOU-C". It look about 6 calls to PG&E over these last two months to get it changed, but we're rolling now and may not have to pay for electricity at all this year! Highly recommend this company. read more

I have a 30-year-old Barrel tile roof and some underlay that needed some TLC as well as two Solar Hot Water Panels that needed to be remounted. They were installed 30 years ago as well when the roof was put on. Most companies either do roof or solar. Not Both. And being cement tiles not many takers. I found ACR while searching the web and it was the best thing that I could have done. The estimator came out the next day. I showed him the bid just for the roof from another company who did only roofing not solar panels. I just wanted to hire one company to do both. The ACR estimator got on the roof and took pictures. They came back with the price that matched the other company and for a few dollars more remounted the Solar Panels. Soon after C.E.O.
