I recently had a new roof replacement and my pool solar was taken down and replaced by the roofing company. Of course there were leaks after it was put back up. I called Steiner's (second time I have used them) and they came out relatively fast about a 2 week wait . That's really great for it being middle of summer and fixed my leaky problems. Inverter was showing an error that called for a replacement. SolarEdge provided a free inverter under warranty. It took Solaredge about 1 week to get a new inverterer delivered to Steiner. Once Steiner Solar received the new replacement inverter, they came out the very next day and swap it for me and got my whole system back up and running. And they have the same great small crew so you know who you're getting? And they don't try to oversell you? And they are very reliable? Well that's Steiner Solar! We've used Steve and his crew for probably 30 years. They've replaced and repaired systems on our pool over that time as we like the pool quite warm and to extend the pool season and solar heat the spa on the cooler days. I can only count on part of one hand, the contractors we've dealt with like Steve @ Steiner. He's kept the same employees which tells you a lot. We don't even bother getting other bids. We'll only use Steve. Steiners prices are reasonable. Once they start the job they are efficient getting it done they don't leave you hanging. Steiners was able to fit us in early, we had an appointment weeks out. Steve came out and he was super polite and professional, an absolute expert, and went above and beyond. We have a connection blow loose on our roof. He fixed that, showed me photos of before and after, and checked every other connection after explaining what was done incorrectly in the past. He also spent way more time than I would have ever expected to explain things to me about my solar controller and pool pump system that no one else has. We've been in this home a couple years and been through a few pool and solar folks, and I've asked them questions, but never got simple clear answers like I did from Steve, and he volunteered it. He also identified some improvements we could make, but was not pushy at all. He just said he'd write up an estimate from the office and send it in case we ever want to pursue it and only spent time on site to explain what it would be for and why it would be a good idea. Steiner was recommended by my pool repair person, John Craft. Called once in November 2021 and Steve was going to come look at my solar, I actually spoke with a lady and she said he was going to call me. Never heard from him. Called Steiner on March 4, 2022 and spoke with Steve, he promised to come look at my solar and he said he would not flake this time. Never heard from him. I guess they are too busy. Oh well. We were replacing our roof and decided to go with a stone covered metal roof which was a fairly new product at the time. Since we were replacing our old shake roof we looked into adding electric solar as well as replacing our pool solar at the same time. Some places would not install the solar system on the new roof. Others would do one system or the other but not both and others were high pressure sales but not Steve. After spending more than two years researching solar heating options for my large, deep and very shaded pool in Fair Oaks, we were fortunate enough to get a referral for Steiner Solar from a well respected pool contracting company that has been in the business for many years. Steve came over to our house the day I called him to determine if a solar system was feasible from a roof standpoint and to assess how many panels we would need for or pool. We scheduled an appointment that week and after seeing pictures of his work and seeing an actual panel he brought, we very comfortable signing contracts that day. He promised to complete the job within a few days. He was done in 72 hours!!! The completed job looked great. He gave us a full tutorial about running the system and we were ready to see our dreams of a comfortable pool come to fruition. Last year (2011) the weather was very cold , even in June. Steiner Solar Service turned our 71 degree pool, into a "how warm would you like it ," pool in less than one week. In the beginning I ran our system 8-10 hours a day to get it to my ideal temperature. I like our pool at about 85 degrees. Once the ideal temp is reached, I can run that system 6 hours a day and keep it at a constant 85 degrees, day or night with no cover. It costs me an extra 100 dollars per month in the summer. I had Steiner's Solar Service install our solar pool as well as solar electric. We got the solar pool first, and asked Steve to plan out the panel placement for the solar electric in the event we decided to get solar electric. We got the solar pool a few years ago, and the kids get to enjoy a warm pool from April to September. Last year, we decided to buy a solar system. We got several quotes, and went with Steiner's because their prices were competitive, we trusted Steve, and because they are a local company. Just as Steve projected for us, we are on track to break even in 5 years, and every dollar of electricity generated from that point will be profit for us. I've been meaning to write a review for a while, but am compelled to write today after my solar pool stopped working. I called Steve and he came by diagnosed the problem as a broken actuator valve and replaced it for us. We have this huge and deep pool that dominates the backyard of a lovely 1950's ranch house. It was sadly to cold to use for all but short periods. I thought of looking at solar after we put on a solar PV system for electricity. Anyway, long story short I talked with Steve and he came out and did a reasonable bid. They came out and did a fantastic installation. The crew was friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and dealt with the little problems one expects in a timely and professional manner. Look no further if you need help with your pool solar heating system! I usually am a D.I.Y. kind of person, but as I took my solar panel down off the roof I quickly found myself in uncharted water! One of my solar panels was leaking water. I looked at youtube for some repair ideas and tried to repair the panel myself. Well, that didn't work, and the leak got worse. After calling numerous places and a couple of 800 numbers, I quickly learned that this was not an easy fix. I found Stiner's Solar name, and I called. I reached and spoke to Holly. This time of year repair can be several weeks out, but Holly was very honest about setting up what the expectations would be. Holly also took it a bit further and offered to call me if there was a cancellation of if her service tech could get to us earlier. This was an excellent option for me as I, being the D.I.Y guy could keep looking for other repair options too! This company is the best! Best price and best customer service. They put in solar panels for my pool, and then returned to upgrade my pool pump to a variable speed pump. The upgraded pump caused numerous problems (none of them Steiner's fault) and they came back over and over to fix them, even though it had nothing to do with their system! I spent 3 months and had about 20 bids on solar panels..carefully comparing apples to apples. Looking at mounting hardware..brands of panels..warranties..I read up online about the subject until my eyes were bloodshot. Some qoute in AC..some quote in DC..I asked for both. Some companies made bigger claims of how many KWH the system would produce. What I found w/ Steve..the owner of Steiners was no gimmick straight forward honest information. It became very obvious that PPA ...power purchase agreements..which Steve does not do ..are a waste and even if you can only afford a smaller system and then add on to it as you can afford you'll be better off ..the systems he installs are easily added onto later. A small family company with very personal service. He always was able to answer all of my questions..poor guy..I had lots of them and changed my mind a few times. Some of the larger companies..I won't mention any names..tried to use scare tactics to woo me back..that turned out to be baseless..same warranty on racking and installation ..the panel manufacturers stand behind their own product. I asked about lesser expensive panels I'd seen and was frankly told that they are not much less than the superior products he uses ad to stick with the proven product for many reasons. So..he was able to compete w/ the big guys easily..did a great installation..and is very very nice.
