Soo.... FINALLY I can post my review of ACR Solar (and Roofing). Understand I had to at least wait for a few good rains to say I LOVE my new roof and we are in fact "water proof"! I have never been so impressed with the customer service of any company as much as I am with ACR. They did the solar for a new pool last year 2021 and it worked perfectly allowing us the most comfortable swimming experience in our new pool. That was last year... Next up our 25 year-old roof was looking tired. Because of my solar experience with ACR's amazing staff (both in the field and in the office), I decided to get a bid (1 of 4) from them on a new roof this year (2022). Oh my gosh Joe Petersen runs a smooth, courteous, professional company with an awesome team of workers. Not one person was rude, lazy or "questionable". I am one who asks MANY questions because I just like to know and understand "stuff". Joe was so very patient with me. (Thank you Joe, lol). I discovered a leak in my roof over the week of Thanksgiving when I pulled a smoke alarm for inspection and saw the undersides were wet. After submitting a request for repair quotes through Yelp, I was contacted by ACR Roofing Systems. Joe and his team came out right away and immediately discovered the cause of the leak. Joe drafted a quote of the repairs for me to review and within a week, his team came back as promised and carried out all the repairs. The next set of rain has now reached the Sacramento area. I went into the attic over lunch today and the attic was dry as a dessert! Joe and his team did really good work repairing my roof and preventing further leaks from happening. The entire process working with ACR Roofing was very pleasant from Joe's quick response, to the transparency of the quote, to the quality of the repair work, and the cost of the repair. These guys were recommended by a trusted friend who knows the business, but I got two other quotes anyway. They had the most competitive quote. I also had someone in the roofing business (too far away to work on our house) review the quote in detail. He said it covered everything we were going to need and that he could not beat it. So we went ahead and hired ACR to rip off our old roof shingles and install new ones. The job went very well. Not only did they repair the areas where leaks had caused dry rot, they installed a system to ensure our gutters would never pull away from the eaves again which had been a chronic problem. And they replaced all the roof vents and added additional ones. They also coordinated their workflow with a solar PV company that had to remove our PV panels prior to the roof replacement and reinstall them afterwards. And they took care of all the permitting with the county. The entire job, from the day the PV panels were removed until the roof was replaced and the PV panels were back up and functioning was 13 days. And when they were done, they actually issued us a refund of just over $1,000 because they had ordered more materials than they ended up needing. This is a good company. I have met with five different companies and was left scratching my head and was mentally exhausted. I went on yelp and found ACR and what a fantastic decision it was. Here you're dealing with the company and not some contractor so you know they will do their best to make you happy, plus they are local! Fast forward a few weeks and I met with awesome Aaron and shortly thereafter I had my panels at a fantastic price. I also dealt with Clark and Dvora when it came to inspections / paperwork and those two are incredible. I even got a free hybrid water heater out of the deal after the rebate. My system was up and operational super fast while my neighbor who went with another company waited for a SMUD meter what seemed like forever! ACR Solar I had a great experience with ACR Solar. My roof was leaking under the solar panels. They didn't make me pay for a consult. They didn't charge me $100 for each solar panel that had to be removed and the another $100 per panel to put them back. They in fact tuned up the entire roof; they fixed dislodged flashings and replaced broken edge tiles, as well as replacing the broken tiles on the roof. They even cleaned my solar panels upon completion and left the entire work area and deck squeaky clean. The cost was very reasonable. It was much as another company was charging for removing, then reinstalling the solar panels, and that didn't include the job of fixing the roof. I also got an estimate from a roofer who wanted to charge me more than ACR charged me, but I'd have to pay for a solar company to come out to remove and then reinstall the solar panels. The weekend under a PG&E induced blackout for flimsy reasons (do maintenance before profits guys) went extremely well compared to other blackouts I've experienced. The backup battery worked as intended keeping the four designated circuits powered: refrigerator/freezer, Kegerator, aquarium & a few outlets over 43 straight hours.
