Solectric, once a dealer for SunPower which is now bankrupt, provided outstanding diagnostic services when our SunPower Hub+ failed. They subsequently replaced our Hub+ communication apparatus and included a three-year warranty. We had decided to junk the Hub+ and battery because we could not find any other solar company to repair our system. Solectric's CEO convinced us not to spend nearly $20,000 replace and install another inverter and Powerwall battery We lost sleep over this effort and 5 weeks with useless system. We took a chance. This company is well run, support staff competent and repair personnel certified, skilled and quite able. I would recommend them. read more

Getting solar for your home is a huge investment in which everyone recommends you do your research and get a few quotes prior to deciding on which company you want to go with. Dan, the owner of Soletric, was one of the first companies we reached out to to get a quote solar for our home. He came to our house and explained everything to us in layman terms. He did not try to pressure us into anything at all and was super friendly throughout the whole process. After getting a few quotes, we decided to go with Dan. However, I ran into some issues with my credit which affected with me getting a loan. Took more than six months to finally rectify the issue and not once did Dan pressure or rush me. I tried to email him periodically to keep him up to date on where we were at. I didn't want him to think I was pulling his leg. When I finally fixed my credit and got a loan approval, I emailed Dan immediately and we got the ball rolling. The installation was quick. It took two full days for the panels to get up to the roof. Unfortunately, as we were close to completion pending an inspection by the City of West Sacramento, the coronavirus pandemic hit and shut everything down and, therefore, we cannot get an inspector out to do the inspection. So for a good month my panels were just sitting up in my roof collecting dust instead of energy. Then one day out of the blue, Dan emails me and tells us the city is opened and he is going to schedule an inspection so we can finally break the shackles of PG&E. From the email informing us that we can get the ball rolling in getting our house inspected to finally our solar going online officially, I want to say it took a week or a little over a week. Solectric was a breath of fresh air, they pick up the phone and answer your questions in real time! No uploading dozens of pictures, or waiting and waiting for a response from an algorithm. Let me start with telling you that I'm the type of person that will read reviews for hours before deciding on a product. I subscribe to Consumer Reports and will check their ratings for just about anything before I buy something new (example...white cloud toilet paper is far better reviewed than any other toilet paper, and much cheaper). I probably spent a dozen or so hours sorting through reviews regarding solar contractors, solar panels and inverters. By the time I actually reached out to several contractors for estimates, I had already read through dozens of reviews and spoken to neighbors on Nextdoor.com who had used different contractors. When the estimates started to come in, they were all within about 5-10% of each other, with solectric and one other company being tied for the most competitive bid. However, with as much as I was spending for my system overall, I wasn't going to make my decision based solely on who could do it for the least amount of money. The estimates I got were all using the same product; so the difference in price, at least from my perspective, was the level of service I would be receiving throughout the installation and beyond. With that in mind, I sent each contractor an email with a few basic questions about their proposal. Daniel at solectric was the most responsive by far, and had the least "generic" response. Just from his emails I could tell how much pride he took in his work. He offered to walk with me around my neighborhood and point out imperfections in other installations that he would not tolerate in his own work. I didn't take him up on the offer because I was already sold after exchanging a few emails with him. After I signed the contract and the building permit was approved, it only took a day and a half to get the system installed. Getting a SMUD inspector out for the final approval was actually the longest part in the whole process, but Daniel did a good job of cc'ing me on emails he sent to SMUD and what the status was of the final inspection. When SMUD finally made it out and gave the go-ahead to turn the system on, Daniel was out the next morning to turn on the system and show me how everything worked (he also brought a 12-pack of my favorite beer!). Solectric has just completed the installation and connection for my new solar system and I could not be more pleased with their services! I initially got quotes from another company (Illum) but my contact person would never get back to me to answer my questions and weeks would go by. I installed SunPower panels, which are expensive but high quality and have a 25-yr transferrable warranty on the panels and roofing. His installers have been working with him for years and know what they are doing. They are friendly, respectful, and courteous. The installation was professional and clean, only took two days with some follow up in coordination with the City of West Sac and PG&E. So thrilled to have an electric bill about 10% of what it was last summer - from $220 in July 2020 to $22 in July 2021! I have been looking around and speaking to solar companies for several months. Most of them come on way too strong and want you to sign the minute they give you the contract. I just was not convinced that solar was the best option for me since my bills were not all that high. I decided to do a search on Yelp and pull up the 10 top solar companies in the Sacramento area. I called several other companies first but because it was Saturday no one answered their phones. Solectric was in the second spot. When I spoke with Daniel he was very knowledgeable and made an appointment to come out and see me Monday. First of all I have to say, I like contractors that are on time. This is the main reason someone will never get my business, is if they are late. It shows that they don't respect my time. Daniel was right on time, score 5 points. He brought samples of the panels that he planned to use and also a sample of a lesser expensive type. The sample of the product was very helpful. He also brought a printed out proposal with what we talked about on the phone that was easy to read and understand what he was talking about.
