Every now and then you find a restaurant where the number of Yelp stars are completely ridiculous. This place is absolutely awful. I can't speak to the pies but the "Italian" entrees were mediocre at best. Clearly ingredients from cans and freezer bags. We were there on Saturday night with about 90% empty seats. We should have taken the hint. This place shares the name of "Acropolis" with another joint in Kirkland, which incidentally completely rocks it. I think both were associated in the past, along with Athen's Pizza in Auburn. Athen's and Acropolis-Kirkland still throw down some of the best food dating back to the 1970s. I've been here before, their pizza is yummy! And I've been told the sandwiches are to die for. But today I had a need for baked pasta with lots of CHEESE! I ordered the cannelloni. it came as a bubbling hot cauldron of liquid hot magma. Great, except the 1/4 inch film of grease. Hmm. No biggie, it tasted just like I expected, cheesy. but of course I couldn't finish it, As I have a bird like tummy. I got the rest to go. Later when I re-heated it, the cheese was overwhelming. Tough to chew and harder to swallow Who would have thought, one can have too much cheese. Over all, this place serves good food. Service is good. I simply don't care for their baked pastas. This place never fails me, I've never gotten something I didn't like. Pizza and the meatball sub are my favorites! You would think from the location it's not that great but don't knock it till you try it! I've never eaten inside but the interior is honestly amazing and looks very comfortable! All things considered, this place just does the job. Good but not great food. Fast service. Reasonably priced. Decent location. Doesn't get 5 stars because it's not over the top fantastic, but it's good. Pretty damn good. I've had the grinders and the baked spaghetti. I DEFINITELY reccomend the latter with meatballs. It sounds simple, but baked spaghetti when it's done right is really tasty. Came right out of the oven roasting hot, (beats the hell out of ice cold, don't mind waiting for it to cool down) and stayed hot the entire time. This place JUST got a facelift! I love the remodel, the interior design, the beautiful chandelier, the wood panel wall! I feel like it's so HGTV that I keep staring and forget to eat! Let's be honest, it's waaaaaaaay too pretty of a restaurant to be in Everett!!! Now back to the food, the GRINDERS are still delicious. I do notice however that they changed the bread. It's still good, a decent rustic chewy bread. But it needs more crisp and crunch. I love the BBQ Chicken Grinder, the addition of red onions is totally new but it's still good. Had a quick Valentines lunch out with my husband and we just loved out food. My husband had the Calaloni. It was bubbling hot with lots of gooey yummy melted cheese. The filling as good too. This is one of those places that looks quite small and unassuming from the outside, and is in a pretty generic location surrounded by fast food chains and gas stations. I wasn't expecting much. We ordered delivery from here for the first time this evening. The Spartan Special, well done; a Spinach Salad and a soda. The pizza was really good, lots of cheese, plenty of topics in each slice, done to our specification. I really want to offer special praise for that Spinach Salad, though. Had a Groupon for Acropolis. I had heard about it from several people but had never been. The server was really nice and friendly. I wanted to order pizza but my boyfriend wanted to order entrees. He got lasagna, I got spaghetti and we both got salads before our entrees. The salads were nothing to rave about, kind of looked like they came out of a bag. The portions of pasta were HUGE, though. The food took a little bit to come out, despite the restaurant being fairly slow, so we had filled up on bread while waiting. So we didn't eat too much of the pasta. We did have leftovers for the next day though! The food was good, service was decent. I would have loved to try the pizza, since it seems like that is their specialty. We've driven by several times, giving the place a pass because it is in a weird mini mall on the corner of 128th & 4th. I've learned, though, that these kinds of places can also be some of the very best. Tonight we didn't pass on Acropolis and decided to dine in and try them for the first time. I don't know what the restaurant used to look like, but I can only describe its current decor as STUNNING. Never would I have imagine such a beautiful looking restaurant in such an unassuming location in Everett. We ate early (4:30pm), and besides one other table, we were the only diners. We sat in the elevated dining area in the center of the restaurant. The owners are so warm and friendly, and reminded me of the Greek family I used to work for at a restaurant in my hometown. The menu seems more casual than the decor, and the prices are definitely more than reasonable! From appies, salads, soups, pizzas, pastas, and hot sandwiches there is likely something for everyone. After looking over the menu for quite some time, I finally decided on something I think was called "Mediterannean Dish". It was approximately 12 prawns sauteed in a spicy rose sauce, topped with a generous amount of parmesan cheese and served with pita wedges. My husband decided on a grinder with 3 different kinds of deli meats. My entree was TO DIE FOR - and luckily, you can order it mild or spicy. While I ordered it mild, I think they made it spicy - either that, or their mild is already spicy, and their spicy is extra spicy! I also found the sauce quite a bit salty, but I also do not use salt in my home so it could just be that I'm not used to salt. The prawns were cooked to perfection and as I said, the sauce was ridiculously good. I didn't realize the prawns still had their tails on, as they were served with pita bread I assumed you are supposed to put the prawns & sauce on the pita and eat together. No harm, no foul. Hubby's grinder was huge and delicious and he devoured it at a feverish pace. My only point of feedback is this: they have chalkboard specials that are hung above the window to the kitchen. The specials were not offered to us, but we noticed they have a dinner special for 2 for $21.99 - I believe it includes 2 starter salads (Caesar, spinach, or green), 2 pastas or 1x12" pizza, and garlic bread. We definitely would have ordered that had we known, but at least it gives us a reason to come back! read more

I needed to grab a quick bite to eat before a meeting and noticed great reviews for this restaurant on Yelp. I popped in, ordered a gyro and greek salad to go and was on my way. The service was great - very friendly and fast. The food was just okay. I'm not sure if it's because I'm spoiled with Santorini's in Kirkland, but this gyro was completely different than what I'm used to, and tasted like a fast food version of the item. The beef are actually beef patties (much like one you would find on an egg mcmuffin), and then bread used was quite chewy and tough. The greek salad was fine, but not fantastic. I'm not sure I would go here again, as there are other options in the area that would taste a bit better. read more

This outstanding Italian restaurant is a real hidden gem. It's mundane exterior hides an attractive, refined, yet comfortable and welcome exterior. The food is good, a kind of refined American-Italian family fair served in reasonable portions, the service is excellent, and the kitchen turns out food very quickly. The toasted cibatta is crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the mozzarella well blended with parmesean, and the wine list is small but of high quality for a low price. read more

Oh the Grinders at this place are fantastic. I have managed to try a couple other items on one of the many occasions we have picked up food to go. But, the grinders always draw me back. Service is very quick, and friendly. Super clean place. Pepperoni grinder - we always get extra meat, without extra meat is still very delicious, but leaves you wanting more, which is insane because the sandwich is a foot long ! I add the mushrooms, which makes a perfect sandwich. I don't know if they bake their bread there, or buy from a special bakery, but it is the best. Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy inside. Marina Sauce - fantastic, buy a side to make a pasta dish the next day. Or, to dip your grinder in, I have done the grinder dip a few times, and ohhhhh so good ! Chicken Parmesan - This was very good, but a little heavy on the cheese. Lot's of sauce, and chicken done perfectly. Blue Cheese Dressing - another one to buy a side (pint size) and make a salad the next day, or use it for dipping that grinder :) Super casual atmosphere, they do have a front area with TV that would be great for a large group. The lunch and dinner specials are an amazing deal. The food is so good. The vegetarian grinder is just the best. Do yourself a favor and be sure to order it. The bread is fresh and delicious. If you eat in, you see a steady stream of Uber eats drivers coming and going so you know it's super popular with the locals also. The cheesecake is delicious and the spumoni is fantastic too. The pizza crusts are so tasty you will not leave any crusts behind on these babies. I highly recommend Acropolis. Don't let the outside appearance of the strip mall dissuade you. Very savory pizza. Yummy and hot upon arrival. I have tried to tip my delivery person each time but I was never told by order taker that the tip doesn't get charged unless I signed the receipt. And then the delivery person never would ask that I sign. So for awhile he delivered and wasn't getting tipped. That was sad to find out. He should be trained to get the signature for his tip. I ended up sending $20 to the restaurant to give to the driver and nobody ever acknowledged they got this cash and gave it to the driver. We ordered pizza to go and came home with a large Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza and a small BBQ chicken pizza. I was amazed at the entire layer of Canadian bacon with bits of pineapple and topped with a large layer of cheese on top. The crust was fairly thick and cooked perfectly. The pizza here is fantastic! We really enjoyed the pizza and had a greek salad with it. Super delicious. The waitress was very nice and our food arrived quickly. We took our kids two weeks ago and they have asked when we can take them back-definitely a good sign. Place was pretty empty when we were there. They had many pick up orders, but I am surprised it's not busier. Maybe people don't want to venture to the "other" side of 128th? I had lunch here and order Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Italian Wedding Soup. My lunch was exceptional!!! The meat sauce wasn't grocery store sweet but the right balance subtle sweetness, but not too salty. We've been here three times and each time we got excellent food in a large portion. Their grinders are big and tasty, their pizza is superb compared to, say Dominos or Pizza Hut, or even Rock Pizza. My kids love their food. The place is clean with nice decoration, and the food is excellent with reasonable prices. How come this place is not packed like Apple Bee's or Red Robbin? I notice they have a lot of take out orders, but still, every time we went there, there were only another table or two at this place. Yes, we will be back. read more

Oh Acropolis - why did you change your amazing pizza??? This was our favorite pizza in the area. We have been getting it regularly since moving to Everett two years ago. It was rich and buttery with this amazing crust that was both fluffy and crunchy on the bottom. It was the "Greek" style pizza that is so yummy. We ordered our usual pepperoni and sausage pizza. But it did not look or taste the same. It had the same great flavorful sauce and excellent toppings - but the crust is totally different. It is now just a boring standard crust - nothing special. Had a Groupon and decided to play this place out. Tuesday night and for half the time we were the only customers in the place, but that meant we got really great service. Server was very friendly. Food came out piping hot. The pizzas we got were good. A slightly different style than usual. The lasagna was okay - not quite what I expected, but still good. My salad seemed more like bagged salad and some of the lettuce was brown. We were satisfied with our meal though and could possibly go back - maybe to try the grinders.
