This is the best Gyro spot I've ever gone to and the only one I will go to. They have the best greek fries ever! Today I did a to go order and ordered the wrong dish. When I went to pick it up I realized it was the wrong one and I was willing to pay for that and the dish I wanted. The man helping me asked if I had some time to wait, he was going to make me fresh greek fries. I said I would pay for both since I made the mistake and he said no it was fine. I was in Greek heaven! I ordered a beef and Lamb gyro, because why would you go out to Greek food and order anything else, right? I didn't customize anything and it was prepared with just the right amount of everything. Every bite was filled with so much Greek goodness that I inhaled it too quickly and forgot to take a picture for my review. I also had some choclava and a pomegranate & orange San Pelligrino, which were both also delicious. First time getting Gyro spot and it was really delicious! The owner was friendly and the space was tidy. I ticked one star just because the chicken meat was very old and stale :( i ordered large greek fries, lamb beef gyro plate, athenian chicken plate and chicken shawarma. The chicken meat used for the shawarma wrap and the athenian plate were the same except for maybe some dry seasoning. The chicken as you can see in the other photo was super dry and translucent in color, i couldn't bear to eat those stale pieces. However everything else was so spot on and cured my gyro fix. I placed an online order through their website, received a confirmation email and a "the restaurant has accepted your order" email, as well as their website updated to reflect the same. I asked if they could double check, and they did the exact same thing. No "sorry" or stating they could restart the order. Will not being going back. I ate at Gyro Stop a few times after moving to Mukilteo. The final time I ate here, I ordered pickup online right as I left work for the day. I received a notification my food was ready on my way from my workplace to the restaurant. I made it there around 15 minutes later. I approached the counter, told the young guy working there that I had an order to pick up, and gave him my name. He nodded at me but looked sort of frantic and confused. He then rushed to the back of the kitchen area and started looking through receipts for what I assume were different online orders that had come through that day. Then he went up to the older man working in the kitchen and it seemed like he told him that he couldn't find my order (they were speaking a different language, so I couldn't actually understand what was being said). The older man then approached me and asked me for my name and to show him proof that I had actually ordered online. I quickly pulled up my order receipt and showed him. I even double-checked that it was the correct location. He looked very annoyed with me, shook his head, and repeated probably three times, "It's not coming here. It's not coming here. It's not coming here." He seemed to be saying that he believed I was mistaken (or maybe even lying, despite the literal online order receipt I showed him) and that my order was not actually placed at the restaurant. I persisted and told him to look at my order receipt again. Begrudgingly, he instructed the younger male employee to remake my food. He did so quickly and then handed me my order. I took it and left immediately since I had already paid online. I did not receive any apology whatsoever. They seemed more concerned with covering themselves and "being correct" rather than trying to make it right with a customer. I did not appreciate how unpleasant the older male employee was with me. It would have been so much easier to just admit that they either overlooked my order or accidentally gave it to someone else. Mistakes happen. I wouldn't have minded waiting a few more minutes. They could have just apologized and moved on. I'm a forgiving person, but I don't stand for lying or gaslighting. I was very displeased with the customer service and decided to never eat at Gyro Stop again after that. As for the food itself, it is palatable but it is not the best. The gyro meat has decent flavor but is very dry. The lentil soup lacks salt and the hummus is bland. The pita is greasy. Just based on the food alone, I would say Gyro Stop is a decent and conveniently located Mukilteo restaurant to make a stop at right after work if you don't have time to cook that night. I would have eaten there more from time to time while I lived in Mukilteo if it wasn't for the extremely unpleasant customer service experience I had. The atmosphere is nothing special. Absolutely delicious and healthy food. I always order the Chicken Shawarma on Pita bread. Every step of the way they have a recipe for what they want their food to taste like. I got to watch the chicken prep and was amazed at the sauces and spices and oil -- and the patience they have in getting it just right. As my wrap was being made, when I asked for certain amounts of various vegetables, they were happy to serve what I ask for. My third visit to this Gyro Stop and second to one in Everett. Both are excellent. Friendly and courteous and welcoming. The cafe itself is very clean and pleasant too. Placed an order for pick up through Uber eats. Order said it will be ready at 8:17 PM showed up around 815. The guy behind the counter looked confused and asked if I called it in I'm like no I did it through Uber eats then he finds the ticket that was originally placed at 7:50 PM. He begins to call for another employee in Arabic/Farsi. Another guy comes out looks irritated looks at the order and begins preparing the meat. The other guy comes and tells me it'll be about five minutes. 10 minutes later, he hands me my order and says thank you. I get home after a long day and noticed that they made my order completely wrong, and even gave me some thing that I did not even order The rice tasted stale . The Kofta Kebab was undercooked . I also ordered a chicken kebab plate which was not chicken but gyro meat. The only thing that was decent was the hummus and pita. I've been going to this place for gyros foe 3 years & they've been great. Until about 2 months ago when I went in early & the gyro I got upset my lower GI track (if you know what I mean). Today I went in to give them another chance & the younger man was going to use meat from the dish in the hot table. My husband asked for fresh from the spinning roast. Maybe their hot table isn't up to the correct temperature or maybe they shouldn't cut so much meat at a time. Something needs to change. read more

To be honest, never had an issue with this location besides the owner/workers never listening to instructions on orders. I ordered a falafel salad and a falafel gyro. The gyro was fine but the salad tasted and looked like it was prepared and saved from the previous night. Everything in the salad, including the falafel was ice cold. I couldn't even bite into the salad without getting a brain freeze. I asked for the dressing to be on the side and that definitely wasn't the case. The salad itself was drenched in the vinaigrette, making the ice berg wilted and tasteless. If I knew I was getting leftover food, I would've just ate what I had home. So important when working with food... Got a Falafel Supreme Sandwich. It really was delicious.. or I should at least say, it tasted good. The man behind the counter was very nice actually and offered a complimentary dessert for my wait. I didn't think I waited long at all but, I accepted his gesture. The desserts obviously had nuts on them and I asked what kind (I am severely allergic to 2 different kinds). He replied, "Oh, no nuts on those, only pistachios".... I'm thinking, ok...pistachio is a nut homie.. Even though I'm not allergic to pistachios, I should've seen that idiotic comment as a red flag and declined his free dessert. Lentil soup is the best I've ever had. Don't miss it! I go out of my way from Whidbey Island just to pick some up. I love the hummus delicious and authentic and the greek salad is super. The staff is so friendly, really look you in the eye, you get your food fast and with gracious treatment. It's always clean in there and love the Santorini mural photo on the wall, I can even see the roof of the exact house I visited there in Greece in 1986! I think the staff is from Syria. We have patronize this establishment on a regular basis since it opened. Gradually, it has gone downhill and the straw that broke the camel's back happened yesterday. We ordered 2 gyros and 2 fries to go and just like another Yelper mentioned, the cashier sneakily hit the 15% tip before turning the iPad over for my signature. Since I was alerted to this unscrupulous practice by my fellow Yelper, I changed it to 10% for fear of what no tip would mean for our food. First of all, we normally don't tip at places where they just make the food for us to take out (ie. MacDonald's or Subway). If we dine in, we will leave some money for the person who clears our table. We are more than happy to tip wait staffs who actually serve us (ie. bring our food, check on us, refill our water). One of the items we ordered was out, they replaced it in our order without telling us. They gave us their dolmas as a replacement, that was one of the worst things I have ever eaten. Everything I've had from here has been really tasty and a great value. It's set up pretty simply so that you have a choice of filling (beef and lamb, chicken, vegetarian options, etc) and then a choice of how to take it (sandwich/pita wrap, salad, or plate). The sandwiches are the cheapest but also plenty filling with lots of good fresh veggies. The plates come with rice, pita and some delicious sauce, and would be good for two people with a side. Some favorites are the baba ghannouj and chicken shawarma. I've also tried the greek fries but would recommend splitting those with one or two others - they're so good but also super rich and a bit hard to finish. Of the maybe dozen times I've been here, the service has always been friendly and quick. Sometimes they have a new hire who needs a little guidance, but they're consistently courteous and kind.
