Thought I had a transmission fluid leak, but they found the tranny was fine and the engine oil cooler was the culprit. They have good pricing but shortly after they fixed the spark plugs on check engine light issue the check engine line came back on and then saw repairs left wires loosely hanging. The error was a P0430 error pointing to the catalytic converter on passenger side and the error was fixed with replacing the throttle sensor which at the wires everywhere read more

Just went in with my 2006 Acura MDX because my AC was blowing warm yesterday. I signed the contract with them for a $180 inspection and they pulled my car into the bay. Within about 90 seconds they could tell my AC compressor was blown and told me. The quoted me for the entire system replacement (because you have to because of the debris and warranties), didn't charge me for this visit and asked me to consider things and call them back to setup an appointment to get it done, if I wanted to. This shop is AMAZING and the team is fantastic! I'm still debating on the work to get done, but no matter what, this is a stand up shop and honest mechanics. read more

Came in looking to get tune up on 21 Chevy equinox, as I do trips to LA in them with my family.Well I needed service done and since it was already in shop I let this man and his 2 other mechanics do an $400 oil change on my car. Hey fool me once shame on me but never again will I take any of my vehicles to this place. When I did go to pick up car 9 hrs later, the 2 mechanics come from the back smiling like they just got over on a female, no its ok I know how yall do business now so I wont be back, thought yall needed the money more than I did with your empty lot (hence why I took it there and it being down street from my work thinking it'd be quicker than 9 hrs for a oil change smh) read more

Let me put it this way, If You want it done right the first time then Bari's is your (go to). My big thing is HONESTY be it good or be it bad it's always the best Policy. And Nathan (Owner) had no problem telling me what the diagnosis displayed and the damage it was going to inflict on my wallet. I had no idea that my car (2002 Toyota Camry) with 120,000 miles had accumulated numerous battle wounds. But when Edgar & Alex (the mechanics) pop the hood and I could physically see the cracked boots, traces of anti-freeze leaking out of the water neck. leaking oil like a sieve on the back side of the engine not visible until the top half of the engine was removed. I had no leaks on my driveway nil not a drop. I was advised that since the top half of the engine had to be removed (labor intensive) to do the repairs that I should also have any routine maintenance (like the plugs) done as well to avoid any further damage and labor costs in the future. So, the initial diagnosis with My hand held OBD2 scan tool suggested error codes PO171 & PO174 which translates into many things but more commonly leaks or O2 sensors 1 on first bank 1 on second bank which turned into a major repair. At first, I was taken by the estimate that Nathan had quoted me but when all was said and done and I looked at my receipt which looked like ticker tape I realized on the outside My engine looked healthy but deep within it had major issues. To make a short story long I was very happy with the service my car runs like it did when it was drove off the sales floor. My Dodge needed some service I couldn't resolve.  Turns out my vehicle needed a couple of O2 sensors.  Easy diagnosis, fix, and reasonable pricing.  Due to our incredibly busy schedule, we (read:  my wife) brought the vehicle in and had it diagnosed.  Nathan (owner) ordered the part, and the next day had them installed and tested in a few hours.  We really appreciate them accommodating us and minimizing the time in the shop.  They've always done this for us when we needed it.     Keep in mind Bari's has been maintaining this vehicle for probably 90K miles now.  I have been fortunate to not have any major mechanical issues now at 197K miles.  I attribute this to them advising me on maintaining my vehicle and providing the appropriate maintenance I can't do myself to avoid any major issues.   I STILL highly recommend. read more

I found Bari's Auto by googling "car repair Rancho Cordova" and Bari's came up a yelp search as one of the top 10 shops in the area. I read the reviews, looked at the pictures posted on their Yelp page and what got my attention is the picture of a sign on their page about catalytic converters and labor rates. I know all too well about cat converters because I had mine repaired at the pricey Toyota dealership 3 years prior. I figured this shop knew what they were doing so I called them. I talked to Kevin and explained my check engine was light was on due to one of my O2 sensors needing replacement. Kevin asked me a few questions and went into detail about O2 sensors, Toyota certified parts, honest about the hourly rates and the time it would take to get the repairs done, he also offered me a ride back to work which was a blessing as I am disabled and use a cane to get around. I could sense honesty in his voice so dropped off my car the next morning when they first opened. The guy behind the desk was alone but he took down my info, he kindly asked me to wait a few minutes for the other mechanic to come in to take me back to work. The guy who drove me back to work was a pleasure to talk to and seemed down to earth. As promised, Kevin called me after he checked out my car and the price he quoted me on the phone was the price I paid for the repairs, no surprises. Kevin and crew replaced my O2 sensor, checked out my Air conditioning because it was blowing hot air and now it's not. He even recommended a shop to get my car smogged. I am very pleased with their honesty, service and professionalism. I need to get by brakes checked out and taking my car to Bari's for sure. I am happy I found a good auto repair shop. Nothing but great things to say about this place! My ford explorers engine blew and he (the owner Nathan) was very informative on our options. We decided to buy a new Engine. He was great about updating us, and truly cared about our well being with having to pay for a new engine. Once the engine was finished he went again above and beyond to make sure my car was safe and reliable. There was also issues with the computer in my car. I am re-reviewing this place because I think it is important. I bought a '68 Ford F-100 and as any wrencher I kept puttering on it but it started funky every once and a while and the transmission was leaking like crazy bad. Looking at it, it was a super dated model (factory) and Kevin and Nate at Bari's gave me a lot of options. In the end we went with a slightly built transmission. They found that my flex plate was chewed up by what looked to be a small gremlin, which was part of the intermittent starting problem. They set me up! I feel bad because they put so much work into my truck for such a fair price! For a street-rod build it took way less time than I thought it would, and the truck runs great! 5 stars hands down!! If I could give them more I probably would. I came in on a Wednesday morning with some issues with my car window regulator. They quickly diagnosed it free of charge, then asked if I wanted it fixed the same day. They had the part delivered and 2 hours later my window was fixed without completely breaking the bank! When I got back home I realized my power lock button switch from the inside wasn't working and I assumed it had to do with them pulling apart my door fixing my windows regulator.. I called Bari's right away, Kevin answered and said bring it in when you can and we'll drop what were doing and fix it for you! An easy fix and efficient! The owner, service writer Kevin, and their mechanic who was working on my car were all very friendly, polite, and welcoming!! I think it's clear they make it a point to have their customers feel welcomed- hey they even knew my first name when I brought my car back in! Cost friendly, people friendly! I went to Bari's Automotive after getting a recommendation from a co-worker... he said that the mechanics are honest and gurantees their work. Also, they don't force you to do more work on the car than what's absolutely necessary. Kevin and his crew did an awsome job with replacing the timing belt and the water pump on my 2003 Toyota Avalon. They even replaced the worn out hoses for free and gave me additional discount to make the amount even (rounded down to the nearest hundred). Three and a half stars, they fixed my car and Nathan was super helpful but I think I was overcharged.

I went here after getting a recommendation from a friend of my boyfriend, and I'm so glad I came. My brakes were suddenly making a scratching sound, and of course I had neglected them for waaaay too long. I had a friend drop my car off in the morning, without even calling first, and they were able to take care of my car AND were nice enough to drop my friend off at home. They had to replace the brake pads and rotors, and even though they were busy, they finished my car up by the time I got off work! The price was beyond fair, and I didn't feel pressured to get any extra work done that didn't need to be taken care of. Kevin was amazing, honest, and friendly, and even discounted the total price for me! I have already recommended this place to a couple people (and I went there yesterday), and will continue to go here in the future for all my car needs. read more

Great service and support. Had my truck's exhaust welded on one day and for some reason had and electrical issue sometime after that I had believed to be related to the welding. I went back to inform the business and was surprised that they offered to check out and fix my issue that was later found to be unrelated to the welding that was done earlier. Here are some key highlights that I would like to address about Bari's Automotive getting my five star review. The customer service: Kevin was outstanding, and so were the two tech's that serviced my truck (Jimmy and Sal). I am not a mechanic and they didn't treat me like I should have been one when they were advising me about the maintenance on my truck. I can't tell you how many time I've been snubbed by a mechanic who expected me to share the same level of competency as he did when he was discussing the maintenance of my vehicle. These guys were polite, humble, and incredibly responsive. Hats off to the staff. Also, I had a 100 questions and I came back multiple times to the shop to have different type of spacers put on the wheels of my truck and each time they happily assisted. The quality of work: They provided an oil change and installed some wheel spacers for me because they were experienced enough to catch the tire rubbing against the control arm when they were under my truck for the oil. Incredible. The guy who installed my tires (at a different shop) didn't even notice the rubbing when he put them on and drove it. They put the correct oil in my vehicle this time which is more than I can say for the last guy. The price: I was forced to pay for synthetic with a previous mechanic when my truck only calls for regular oil. Thanks to Bari's Automotive and their honesty about my oil requirements I paid half the price. They quoted me on a new exhaust system that was half the price I could find anywhere else. Apparently Jimmy (tech) fabricates the exhaust himself instead of requiring a cookie cutter cat-back to be purchased from a third party with insane mark up. The honesty: I purposely check my brakes and air filter before bringing my vehicle into a mechanic as a little integrity check before I have any major work done by them down the road. In this case with Bari's Automotive, my filter appeared bad and brakes were good, but I asked them if they could let me know if I needed new ones and I'd happily purchase if I did. I knew I didn't need brakes, but I thought I needed a new air filter. The integrity of Bari's Automotive shined when they advised me that they cleaned my air filter instead of selling me a new one that I didn't need. They didn't try to push brakes on me either. A first for me indeed. To sum it up, these guys guys were professional, respectful, reasonably priced, and honest. They've got my business for life. Possibly the worst customer service I've ever received anywhere. I asked the head mechanic a question, "So would you guys be able to do that for me?" He replied, "Uhh yeah, but it's called money?" Like I was stupid and didn't understand. This is after he claimed that his machine couldn't read my error codes, and then went back on that and said oh yeah it actually can, I wasn't doing it right. He listed every possible problem that could go wrong with a car period, and was not even trying to diagnose anything. I suggested what the problem might be, he said that there's no way that could be the problem. But when I went to a new mechanic, it turned out that that was the exact cause. And I'm having this new mechanic fix all the problems at a reasonable price. This place is an absolute joke, that will turn your car away if it isn't a truck or an American car, that's literally all I saw in the shop. Ridiculous. read more

Baris automotive is amazing. It's really hard to find an auto shop you can trust. I had a quote from another shop after braking down in the middle of the night. The tow truck took me to one of their recommended shops. Of course b/c my car was broken and I couldn't drive it somewhere else, they quoted me some outrageous price. I would like to add an additional positive review. I had a challenge with my SUV. I looked at the code the computer was giving and was reading the warning that was displayed. The messages were not good and I was not going to drive the SUV. My next problem was that I work in Elk Grove, but my SUV was in Rancho. Getting back home to manage this was difficult. Bari's Automotive helped me out. I called in, described the problems and told him I had no easy way to get it to them. They had a solution. Over the phone we coordinated towing. A few hours later, I was called with their findings. It was a simple problem that was caused by going to a fast oil change franchise. The fast oil change place did not do what they were supposed to do and I had another minor problem on top of that. Bari's had a sub $50 fix. They did have a recommended additional service for not much more. I authorized the service but still had the challenge of not being able to get to Rancho to pick the SUV up. They worked with me to drop the SUV off at my home in a way I felt safe with. The entire transaction was over the phone. Their communication was good enough for me to feel comfortable simply getting them the keys and a giving the an SUV that was not going anywhere on its own power. They fixed the problem and I am comfortable recommending Bari's Automotive. read more

Bari's is by far one of the most honest mechanics I've been too. I've taken my car to them multiple times and even though they do not specialize in my vehicle, Kevin has never turned me away without trying to do whatever he could to help me. He's always given me such fair prices and has even invested in special tools just for my repairs...tools he may not necessarily need to use again. Kevin always calls me with updates and is really one of the nicest people I've done business with. Prior to taking my vehicle to them I dreaded having to go to a mechanic. I am so pleased with everything they've done for me that I don't plan to go anywhere else for work that Bari's can do for me. I brought my car here to inspect brake work done at another shop. I had reason to believe that the other shop may have charged me for new brakes but not installed new brakes. They gave me a free inspection and confirmed that the work was done at the other shop. Kevin even drove me back to my office while they checked out my car though it was done so quickly by the time I got to the office, I got a call a few minutes later saying that I can pick up my car! I found Bari's here on yelp, and because of all the great reviews, I brought my 2000 Monte Carlo over with a major coolant leak. Kevin was fast to act, and did not charge me to diagnose the leak and issues it had. I ended up not having the repairs completed due to the number of issues the car had, it's age, and value. Kevin was awesome and of course kept his word, and I was not charged a dime. He said to come on back when i get a new car and he would be happy to complete a pre sale inspection for me.
