I recently purchased a car from Speed Sports. When I made the purchase we agreed my wind shield would be replaced. I know its not factory made and I was cool with that. I stopped by to see if they could seal up my windshield which had a rock chip that was spreading. This is something I put off taking care of for 2 years and it was fixed in 5 minutes. I was referred to this business by my mechanic to fix my rear view mirror. The potholes in Portland got really bad over the winter season and I'm pretty good at avoiding potholes. I finally hit one that I couldn't avoid and it was so jarring that my rear view mirror fell off. I brought my vehicle to Action Autoglass to get it replaced. In my opinion, they saw a high end German sedan, (Audi RS4) and proceeded to tell my there is now way to reattach the rear view mirror and my only option was to buy an entirely new windshield to the tune of around $800.00. I decided to bring my vehicle to another business for a second opinion. I brought it to Safelite off or Marine Dr. in N. Portland. Not only did they fix it, they fixed it for FREE! Action Autoglass is B.S., go to Safelite. They are knowledgeable, professional, friendly and a way better option in my opinion. Ultimately, it's your hard earned money though. read more

These guys replaced my windshield back in December of last year. Thought that it had sprung a leak with the rains that we've been having and come to find out my sunroof drains were plugged. They weren't able to fix that at the moment but they helped me out with how to do it. I was referred here by Broadway toyota for a broken side window. Called the shop on Saturday, and even though they couldn't get it in that day they said I could leave my car in their shop until they could fix on Monday. I was grateful for that as it was supposed to rain that weekend. They said they were open until 1pm. I got to the shop a little after noon and no one was there. I tried the front door, knocked on the garage doors, and even tried to call them. I even left a voice mail with my number as I was wondering if I misunderstood something. I never got a call back. Needless to say I wasn't very happy that they told me they were open until 1pm, the posted time on their door said 1pm, and they never returned my call. read more

I had the unfortunate luck of having my car broken into. The back window was broken and wallet stolen. My dealership had Jimmy from Action Auto Glass call me. They had the window for my car at their shop and they could install it same day. ONLY $240 for parts labor-everything! This is a very good deal. When Jimmy called not only was he sympathetic to my situation, but he handled it. Someone in my position often feels like you don't know what to do, so its nice having someone just take care of things for you. He let me pick the time to drop off my car. When I walked in he said it would be a few hours and he listed a few places to grab lunch if I wanted to. With my wallet stolen I have no means to buy lunch and mentioned that to him, I said I would just sit in their lobby to wait. He asked if I'd eaten today-I said no, and he said, "I'm buying you lunch." I almost cried!! After something like what I just went through happens to you-you lose faith in humanity. I was referred by my Toyota dealer to fix a broken rear window defroster on our 2005 Prius which potentially required a new rear window, costing approximately $500 plus installation if we ordered the replacement window from Toyota. When i called and talked to Jimmie, he suggested I come in and have him look at it, as he'd been able to solder the broken connection on several Prius's as a minor repair in lieu of replacement. A few days later I was in the waiting room as the problem was looked at, and I overheard some friendly interactions with other happy customers, one paying a bill of just $25 for some work (on a mirror I think). About half an hour later Jimmie came and told me he'd been able to solder the connection, and that there would be no charge. If the window had to be replaced, he'd told me my cost would have been less than $400 for the cost of a replacement window plus installation. Based on my experiences here, I'd return if I needed auto glass work in the future and would happily refer friends to this business. read more

It started with a busted window caused by a lack of a privacy screen and me stupidly leaving my backpack in my car by eastburn. Luckily I had recommendations about Action Auto Glass. Jimmy told me it would've been a couple days for my window, but I could probably get it cheaper and faster through Foster Auto Parts (another great place)! Got the window for $60, and Action Auto came right out (a nice older guy with a big mustache), and he had it installed and ready to go in 30 minutes at a reasonable price. I got an appointment the same day I called. My side window was replaced in under an hour, and it cost $110 less than Safelite quoted me. What more can I say. It sucked that someone broke into my car, but it would have sucked even more to overpay to have the window replaced. It pays (and is VERY easy) to call around and get a quote! Though I did notice that they did not do a good job vacuuming up all the broken glass in my car seat and on the floor--there are tiny flecks of glass all over. read more

Horrible customer service. I was recommended to them by a friend at the dealership I bought it from, who has been in the business for over 20 years. I needed my windshield replaced. I called and left a message and never received a call back. Called back the next day, they took my info and told me they would need to call the dealership and would call me right back. Again never received a call. Called back the next day and the gentleman told me that my windshield was on company backorder and they wouldn't know how long it would be in stock. Also told me that my glass was going to cost with installation, 1250.00 because of the sensors in it, which sounded outrageous to me. Then told me if I wanted them to order it that I was going to have to just wait. The gentleman was totally rude and sounded uninterested. Because of the referral, I was hoping they were trustworthy and would give them the benefit of the doubt. A month went by with no word from them, so I finally decided to call. My crack was now spreading. The gentleman I talked to sounded like he had no idea what I was talking about. He found my invoice and told me that he had called me 2 weeks prior, which was not the case. He basically was trying to cover the fact he hadn't even ordered my glass. He told me he would call the dealer and give me a call back. When he did call back, magically my glass was in and could send someone out the following week. Considering it had been a month, I called my insurance company to reinstate the claim. They told me the number they had given me for the price of the glass was 400 more than what was in their books. I then called around and got three more quotes. I finally found a company I trusted and in talking to them found out that action auto glass was indeed grossly overcharging me by 700.00! I even called my dealership and they said the same thing. I called and left a message for action auto glass to call me back, never heard from them. Finally got a hold of someone and cancelled my appointment with them. I also emailed them to have something in writing as well. I explained to them how much of a disappointment it was that they would take advantage of someone like that and if I hadn't taken action on my own, I would have been out and extra almost 700.00. I still never heard back from them. In the end, I told my friend that works for the dealership that they should seriously rethink recommending action auto glass. In reading their reviews, many people have had similar experiences. Rude, overpriced, poor customer service. I would never recommend them. read more

These folks were referred to me by McMinnville Subaru to replace my 2015 Forester windshield after a flying gravel break. Turns out that Tim, one of Actions installers lives in Newberg where I live = great!. A nice polite young family man, he showed up as scheduled and completed the replacement in less than an hour. Can't tell the difference new to old glass, except no Subaru logo in the corner. Price was $300. I liked that everyone I spoke to at Action was well spoken and polite. Gave me an over the phone quote and they showed up on time. I had two other quotes that were both $435, one at $335 installed in Salem, and one quote that was $230 but required that I drive to Beaverton. And Action had the best YELP rating of them all.
