In 2023 I brought my Radian Mod 1 to action impact 8 mile. I bought some no name ammo from them they said was good. Well it had an over pressured round and completely blew up my gun. The bolt shot out the side of the reciever and damaged their glass. They kicked me out and said I could not come back unless I paid for it. I'm a disabled Iraq veteran and now I gota drive 30 minutes to go shoot instead of right down the street at action impact. Now I gota drive to CQT cause they let me shoot FRTs. I asked them what would happen if my gun blew up and damaged their range. They said I would be ok cause it would not be my fault read more

"Action Impact is on the famous 8 mile Road. The building has plenty of parking. The outside looks modern and visible from the road. Inside is large and modern. They asked what was the nature of our visit. We told them shooting and they set us up quick. We went to our range and started shooting, the range cut off because that room was rented. They moved us to another range and added more time. After we shot until the board fell off. You, that happened. A quick move and we finished. I really enjoyed this range. Had an RSO interfering with me during my paid time.I didn't do anything unsafe or break any rules, he just thought it was okay for him to get into my range bag in order to see if I was using hand loads, even though it was looked into before I entered the range, . I found this to be intrusive, he never asked if he could do that, and it took away from my paid time. By the way, there were no hand loads. I originally went here after I got my CPL they certified me and give me my certificate at this location. It is huge they have the virtual reality shooting experience option. And they have what I believe to be two gun Lanes. two separate rooms which I'm assuming one is for the classes they teach and one is for people to run out and don't forget to buy your bullets or bring your own range bullets one thing I learned never go to a shooting range with your gun holster to you it's in that accepted or appreciated in the shooting community and you should respect that at the ranges. The PIN on my scope to my gun came loose and AFTER about five rounds it completely flew off!!! the guy there was happy to help me and he fix it for me and I probably was back to shooting front mass On target. Another thing I like to post about is you don't have to bring your own weapon in here once they scan your license and you sign the consent forms you are allowed to rent almost 18 different types and styles of firearms if you're in this area five starts with this place go here anytime :-) read more

As a first-time gun buyer, I had a lot of questions. Fortunately, the folks at Action Impact we're very happy to help. They didn't make me feel like an idiot for not knowing anything about the ins and outs of gun registration or gun ownership. And, it wasn't just the person who started helping me. Absolutely everybody here is friendly and helpful. What I figured was going to be a slow process for the background check ended up being very quick. And, like an attentive server at a restaurant, somebody came back every few minutes to tell me things were progressing nicely and that the process was almost done. The selection here is mind boggling. It's a bit like a Best Buy of gun shops. And, having a gun range on site means that it's sort of a one-stop shopping destination. The price was a little higher than it would've been buying somewhere else. But all purchases come with a free 30 days of range time, which is normally up to $20 an hour. read more

I went there for a cpl renewal class. I was treated very nice by the staff coming in. I was asked did I want to look at the video or go to the range. I decided to watch the video first. Meanwhile at the gun range, the guy was very rude . As like he didn't want to be there. You are there to help and assist people. Hello. All the staff needs are red noses and big floppy shoes, total clown show. They advertise a brand on their website they don't even carry. The entire showroom staff was having an animated discussion about how cool it would be if someone robbed the place and they all got to shoot the robbers. Totally ignored me as I walked behind them, looking in the counters, range bag on my shoulder. Nice range, but the RO that day was ridiculous. A guy loaded his gun on the back counter and sauntered toward his booth flagging everyone else with the muzzle. RO tells him not to do that, but allows him to shoot. I left, but on the way out saw another guy pounding on a jammed Saige shotgun in a very unsafe fashion. That got no attention from the RO at all. Two friends took their CPL course (sales pitch) here. One never even fired a shot with their loaner gun. They handed her a certificate anyway. read more

The place looks very clean. The ranges allow ar-15 and seem well ventilated. The employees I interacted with seemed nice and helpful. They did let me pick up my brass. I felt reasonably safe inside, except when I saw a line of new CPL trainees in line to shoot one day, must have been 20 or more of them with pistols in their hands. But, the sign outside that says $10 for 1/2 hour range time doesn't say you have to buy their ammo to get that price. They don't give you any free targets with purchase of range time. Sometimes they are having classes and the place is packed. There is no air conditioning on the range, so today it was 95+ and sweaty shooting at the targets. Price on Magpul 30rnd plastic AR-15 magazine was $20, I bought one at a gun show for $10 two weeks ago, exactly the same. My buddy bought a box of 50 .22LR and it was $7 something. Everything else seemed pretty over-priced. They did have a large showroom with quite a few items in stock. Seemed easy to get an employee to help if needed. I'll go here because a shooting buddy lives close by, otherwise I wouldn't. This review is for the Eastpoint location, I've not been to the Southfield location. read more

Nothing on the website about rifles, so I called and was told to check their website...really, are they that ignorant?! Stopped by on my way home from work and was told that they don't sell rifles! A gun store that doesn't sell rifles...kinda like going to a dealership that doesn't sell pickup trucks! Scratching my head! Found out afterwards, from local law enforcement personnel, to stay away because of the bad business! Best shooting range and CPL class in the area. The class was cheap and the 8 hours went by pretty fast. Some people leaving comments below are complaining about waiting to shoot, the longest I've waited was 10 minutes (ONCE). It does get busy at peak hours but I think that goes to show how nice it is. The store and range are super clean and the employees are very polite and knowledgeable. Other places have workers that should never deal with people (think they're hot because they have a pistol on their hip), this is NOT one of those places... I took my CPL class with Bryon Hill (instructor) and he was fantastic. Not only is he super cool, he knows what he's doing. 10/10 would take the class again. I thought about writing a review several months ago, bust decided not to mostly out of shock. There are two reasons I am giving this location a 1 star review. The first being that my first experience with this location ended when an employee had a negligent discharge. I was standing around the main counter talking to an sales associate when a loud bang came from the classroom. Several customers closer to the door actually dropped to the floor. The employees began looking around the building confused. Two entered the classroom, one came out and began mentioning who did what to another employee. I decided to leave after that out of fear for my safety. I returned recently out of convenience of the location. There was one other customer at the time I entered, and 5 visible employees. It took several minutes for one of the to break from conversation with another to ask if I needed any help. I asked to see a Glock 20 and he seemed to be annoyed with me. Once he handed the Glock to me (without checking if the chamber was clear) he began to trash talk the brand, as compared to his personal favorite Sig. As I began inspecting the firearm I went to rack the slide (mainly to confirm it was clear) and was told to be careful, which I thought was odd. I then went to test the trigger pull and he immediately placed his hand on the gun saying "you can't do that". I asked why and was told "it's against our policy". Which I would have been okay with I if I had been told that to begin with. I decided once again it was time to leave the store, and decided to purchase the firearm elsewhere. At this time I cannot recommend giving the East point location your business. Mainly out of safety concerns after being present for the negligent discharge. Additionally because of the general perceived attitude of the employees that myself and others have witnessed. read more

I purchased a holster. I was not giving an option to try to see if the holster worked for me. As a female it is extremely important to try on and wear the holster to see if it feasible. Well...the holster did not work for me. And of course you can not exchange or get a refund. Do not buy from this business. You will have better luck going elsewhere. read more

I was referred to go here and even though it was a little bit of a drive for me, it was worth it. This place is hands down the best range around! Customer service was great, prices were even better, and there is a range safety in each section of the lanes. It's an all around better range and I'll never go anywhere else from now on! I've been in this place alot and spent lots of money.almost everytime i visited i witness straw purchases..the guy comes in with his gf/wife,he picks out the gun and she does the paper work.the gun is handed to her,she has absolutely no idea how to handle a fire arm let alone how it functions..the guy grabs and knows what to do.i undersrand u have to make a sale,and that equals money.but right is right and wrong is wronh.i know good and well the guys behind the counter know whats happening.they cant be that clueless read more

I had high hopes for this place as this area sorely needs some competition as far as gun ranges go. I've been shooting for years now, and there aren't any good ranges this side of town. Peters is just way too run down and nasty. I don't care for the drive out to Double Action or Target in Royal Oak. So, when I heard a new one was opening near me, I was giddy. Well, that giddiness is now gone. I went there this past Sunday with a group of friends and had a simply awful experience. We waited in line 20 minutes before we could even sign up for a lane (not to mention waiting after signing up). I'd almost be fine with that, except 15 of those 20 minutes were spent with no one doing anything. They weren't that busy, they weren't at capacity. We just stood in line, not moving at all, for 15 minutes. Once we finally purchased a lane, it was another 10 minutes before we were called in. I get that ranges can be busy, and we expected some wait for a lane, but 20 minutes just to sign up for a lane (we were third in line)? Making maters worse, once we got inside the lane, it was only half full. There was easily 4 or 5 open lanes, so why the heck did we have to wait so long? So, we get to our lane (we're shooting a rifle) and it's not turned on. We ask the range master, who checks our receipt. While he's looking, another couple comes in, and says they too were given the same lane assignment we had. Awesome. So, range master heads out and finally gets our lane activated. Enter the next problem. We paid for an hour, they only activated it for 30 minutes. We didn't notice that until our time was nearly up and the range officer (new guy now) went to kick us out. So, I had to go out, and fight again now. They tried to argue that our time began 20 minutes before it actually did. They finally gave us 20 more minutes, which is all we really wanted. The facility itself is quite nice. If you're shooting a hand gun, it looked like they had 12 lanes or so, and another 12-ish in the rifle side. The shop is immaculate (to be expected since the facility is brand new). The target holder is a bit obnoxious, but I love the automated distance setup where you just tell it how far out to send the target. Things were well ventilated and well lit. They were severely lacking counter space behind the range (a place to put your jacket/range bag etc). Just people fighting for space on a few plastic folding tables they had setup. But the service....ugh. It's simply terrible. I'd be willing to accept these mistakes if they had just opened, but they've been open for 6 months now. The range safety officers seem to be glorified janitors. One guy enforced the 'no rapid fire' rule, the other guy seemed not to care at all as people just went ape-shit rapid-fire crazy. He just spent his time sweeping casings off the open floor. I will give these guys another 6 months before trying again. Hopefully by then they have their act more together. read more

This place was great when it first opened but over time its degraded horribly. The employers who are supposed to know the law better than an average person wouldnt sell me rifle ammo because i wasnt 21 when you only have to be 18 to buy it. Ive even used their range before to zero the scope in my .22 but i couldn't buy.22 ammo? How ridiculous is that? It not only took forever to get service today but i also felt like i wasnt welcomed there. Ill never go back and ill tell anyone i know not to go there. read more

I went here to check out the newest shop/indoor range in lower macomb county. They are still stocking the shop , was told their grand opening is next month. So it's a new building built from the ground up as a range so it's made for its purpose unlike some older ranges in area that are converted old shops. The range ( my main reason to go here) is well lit great ventilation with a digital target rail system so you know exactly how far target is. Max is 75 feet ( they ask no head shots unless your at max distance due to people hitting the ceiling. Only negative thing I'd say is the clips used to hold target are plastic would preferred mounted metal clips to resist target sliding ( mine didn't slide but I could see happening down the road). Range charges by 1/2 hour($12) or full hour($16) targets are cheap. I brought my own ammo in they checked it to make sure it's target rounds ( no big deal). Woman running the range counter was nice and courteous. Glanced around the shop prices are comparable to other local shops. Overall great experience and will definitely will be back. read more
